    The Internationale Journalisten-Programme (IJP) announces its Asia Pacific fellowship with the 2008 German-Vietnamese Program. In this exchange program, five Vietnamese journalists will have the chance to travel to Germany in September/October 2008, and five German journalists will have the chance to travel to Vietnam in October/November 2008. Deadline to apply: January 31, 2008.
    Fellows will have the opportunity to work at a media branch of their choosing for a couple months in Vietnam. Applicants should be fluent in English, have basic knowledge of German, be between 28 and 38 years old and have a minimum of five years of experience in print, online, TV or radio journalism.

    Applicants should submit a 1,000-word essay discussing personal reasons for wanting to work as a journalist in Germany, in ad***ion to a one-page resume, evidence of skills in German and English, three copies of writing samples, a journalistic reference from an e***or and a passport photo.

    Journalists interested in taking college courses in religion or spirituality are encouraged to apply for a scholarship program offered by the Religion Newswriters Association. The scholarship program is made possible by a grant from the Lily Endowment Inc. The deadline to apply is April 1.
    Full-time print and broadcast journalists working at general circulation, non-religious media outlets are eligible to apply. Freelance journalists may also be eligible to apply under certain con***ions. The $5,000 scholarship covers tuition, registration fees, books and other incidental expenses for journalists to take a course in any aspect of religion at accre***ed North America colleges, universities or seminaries.

    About the Fellowships Program
    Thanks to generous grants from The Henry Luce Foundation, Religion Newswriters is pleased to announce that we will once again host a pre-conference program for reporters. The workshop will take place Sept. 17-18, 2008, in Washington, D.C., preceding RNA''s Annual Conference there.
    How to apply
    Reporters who have been on the religion beat three years or less may apply for fellowships. Stipends will be awarded toward all travel expenses, including lodging, airfare and meals. Applications will be available for download by March 1, 2008. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 15, 2008.

    APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR UNITED NATIONS JOURNALISM FELLOWSHIPS
    The Dag Hammarskjold Scholarship Fund for Journalists is now accepting applications from professional journalists from developing countries for its 2008 Fellowship Program. The application deadline is FRIDAY, APRIL 25.

    The Fellowships are available to radio, television, print and web journalists, age 25 to 35, from developing countries who are interested in coming to New York to report on international affairs during the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly. The Fellowships will begin in mid-September and extend to late November and will include the cost of travel and accommodations in New York, as well as a per diem allowance.
    The Fellowship Program is open to journalists who are native to one of the developing countries of Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, or South America and are currently working full-time for a bona fide media organization in a developing nation. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in and commitment to international affairs and to conveying a better understanding of the United Nations to their readers and audiences. They must also have approval from their media organizations to spend up to two months in New York to report from the United Nations.     This is the 47th year the Dag Hammarskjold Scholarship Fund has sponsored the Fellowship Program for Journalists. Many past Fellows have risen to prominence in their professions and countries. In the last three years, journalists from Afghanistan, Brazil, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Lebanon, the Maldives, Nepal, Nigeria, Uganda and Uruguay have participated in the program.
    Selections of the 2008 Fellows will be made in June.

    Fellowship open to journalists covering trade, agriculture
    Full-time mid-career professionals covering economics and/or agriculture for established print, broadcast, or web media are invited to apply for the chance to attend the Salzburg Global Seminar in Salzburg, Austria through the 2008 Knight Salzburg AGRA Fellowship. The seminar, an annual gathering of present and future leaders to solve issues of global concern, is being held May 3 to 7. The last day to apply for the fellowship is March 31.
    The successful applicant will attend the session â?oA â?oGreen Revolutionâ? in Africa: What Framework for Success?,â? a gathering of leading experts to develop proposals for a â?oGreen Revolutionâ? in sub-Saharan Africa.
    The Fellowship covers program fees, travel and accommodation.
