    Journalists across the globe can apply for full- and part-funded bursaries to attend a course in Bangkok, Thailand, entitled â?oReporting HIV/AIDS,â? from November 10 to 14. Deadline to apply: September 15.
    This course is designed to encourage journalists to write with more confidence on a range of issues surrounding HIV/AIDS â?" sociological, developmental, economic and clinical.
    Applicants should be reporters and feature writers in mainstream media who cover HIV/AIDS issues and have about five years of experience.
    Reuters Foundation offers full bursaries for journalists from the developing world/countries in political transition working for organizations with no resources for training as well as part-funded bursaries based on eligibility.

    Working journalists from Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Latin American and the Middle East are encouraged to apply for fellowships to report on the U.N. Climate Change Summit, in Poznan, Poland from December 1 to 12.
    The fellowships, provided by Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), include e***orial support, daily briefings on the negotiations, a field trip and help in securing interviews.
    Applicants can work in electronic, print, radio or television media and have experience in reporting on development or environmental issues

    A six-week course for international journalists on "Internet for Journalists" will be held in Hilversum, the Netherlands, from May 11 to June 19, 2009. Deadline to apply: October 1.
    The course, aimed at journalists from developing countries, aims to strengthen the ability of journalists and of the organizations they work for to use the Internet for the purposes of research, publication and distribution. By the end of the six week course, being offered by Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC), participating journalists should be able to work as Internet journalists/producers.
    Applicants must have a secondary education, professional education or training in media, a minimum of three to four years experience, computer skills and a good command of English. Applicants from eligible countries can apply for a fellowship, whereby travel, accommodation and the course fee are paid for by the Dutch government.

    To raise greater awareness about sustainable development, a two-day workshop will be held for representatives of the print and electronic media from selected Asian countries in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 14 and 15 to explore sustainable development in Asia Pacific.
    The media workshop, called "Sustainable Development - A Viable Goal?," being offered by the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), will focus on countries that have developed sustainable development strategies and action plans. Journalists will get firsthand accounts of country experiences in developing and implementing strategies, what progress they have made and challenges they face.
    All expenses will be paid by the organizers. Applicants should send a CV as well as soft copies of two articles published within the last 12 months or the outlines of two stories which deal, broadly, with some aspect of sustainable development. If the originals are in languages other than English, applicants should provide a synopsis along with the URL of the original articles.

    Journalists from around the world who work for English-language news organizations are invited to apply to a program that will award mini-fellowships to journalists to research and report on global health issues, with a particular focus on issues related to HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria.
    This program, being offered by the Kaiser Media Fellowships Program, is open to print, radio, television, and online journalists.
    Each fellow will be awarded up to $10,000 to cover travel and research expenses. Applicants will need *****bmit a budget outline broadly defining the costs associated with their proposed project.
    Applicants should work at news outlets with target audiences in North America and/or Europe.
    The deadline for the program will be in October 2008; a specific deadline date has not yet been set.

    Announcement: Training course on History, Institutions and Policies of ASEAN
    A training course for journalists from 17- 28 Nov 2008 in Jakarta/Indonesia.
    The International Institute for Journalism (IIJ) of InWEnt announces a two-week training course in Jakarta, Indonesia, for journalists from print and online media based in Member States of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
    The IIJ program aims at enhancing journalists understanding of the concept of economic and political regional integration in general and of the history, institutions and policies of ASEAN in particular and thus improving the quality of reporting on ASEAN matters within the region. The course and all exercises will be conducted in English.
    Applications should be submitted through the InWEnt-Regional Office in Hanoi.
    Application deadline: 30th September 2008

    College journalism students invited to Washington, D.C.
    College journalism students are invited to apply for the 2009 Scripps Howard Foundation Semester in Washington Program. Six chosen interns, including one international student, will work for Scripps Howard in Washington, D.C.
    Interns'' stories are published on a Web-based wire: www.shfwire.com. Some of their stories may go to the Scripps Howard News Service''s 400 client newspapers. Interns may write for hometown or campus newspapers and earn internship or independent study cre***s through their universities.
    Participants will also tour Washington journalism and government institutions, hear from guest speakers and meet weekly to discuss issues in journalism.
    The program is open to college students studying print or online journalism. It is not open to graduates or graduate students. Participants will receive a stipend and free housing in furnished apartments in Washington.

    Program: January 12 to April 24, 2009, a special program that includes the presidential inauguration and the National Journalism Awards dinner

    Journalism fellowships to focus on intersection of science and religion
    The Templeton-Cambridge Journalism Fellowships in Science & Religion invites accomplished print, broadcast and online journalists to apply for its 2009 program, which will take place in June and July, 2009. Deadline to apply: December 15.
    The annual fellowship program aims to promote a deeper understanding and a more informed public discussion of the "creative interface of science and religion," according to the organizers.
    Ten chosen journalists will study issues of science and religion, including three weeks of seminars at the University of Cambridge in the U.K. Fellows will be paid US$15,000 in ad***ion to a book allowance and travel expenses.
    Applicants must demonstrate an interest in the field, originality of thought, and a superior record of journalistic achievement.
    The awards are open to journalists, writers, and e***ors, including freelancers, with a minimum of three years'' experience; priority will be given to mid-career and senior journalists.

    Trước hết mình rất thank bạn vì những thông tin bổ ích của bạn đã gửi lên về du học.
    Mình hiện nay cũng đang tìm hiểu thông tin về lĩnh vực này nên có một số điều nhờ bạn tứ vấn.
    Mình đã có Master về báo chí và hiện nay đang tìm học bổng ngành này PHD. Đúng hơn là mình đang làm PhD báo ở VN, nhưng thực sự là khi đã học ở nước ngoài thì học PhD ở Vn thật là chán ngắt.
    Nhu cầu của mình là hoặc xin học bổng PhD ở nuoc ngoài, hoặc chờ vài năm xin PostDoc, sau khi đã học xong PHd ở đây.
    Hiện giờ mình khá hoang mang trước một loạt thông tin vể học bổng và không biết nên nhằm vô cái nào với ngành báo chí này. Xin nói thêm là mình muốn tập trung vào kinh tế báo chí nếu đưọc.
    Mình thấy chương trình đi học ở Bỉ cũng hay, mà ở Ý cũng hấp dẫn không kém.
    Vốn tiếng Anh của mình bình thường lắm nên mình không hiểu có nên lựa chọn nhnững nước như Ý để đỡ sự cạnh tranh hơn không.
    Mình rất appreciate sự hiểu biết của bạn về lĩnh vục nầy nên nhờ bạn tư vẫn giúp những băn khoăn của mình nhé. Cảm ơn bạn.

    Nói thật là hiểu biết của mình về xin học bổng PhD ngành truyền thông - báo chí là 1 số O tròn trĩnh.
    Nếu mình là bạn, mình sẽ vào VietPhD www.vietphd.org mở 1 thread nhờ tư vấn về làm PhD ngành báo chí xem sao.
    Tuy VietPhD members chủ yếu là các bạn kỹ thuật, nhưng cũng có 1 vài bác xã hội rất nhiệt tình như anh dinhcongbang, anh hegteros và chị evil. Biết đâu có bác nào đang làm PhD về báo chí nhưng chưa lộ diện.
