Chinh phu Korea dang co ke hoach cap hoc bong cho graduate students cac nuoc
ngheo hon, nhu kieu VN, TQ sang Korea hoc. Hoc bong gom 2 loai:

Master trong 2 nam, duoc cap 10 trieu won / nam = 8300 USD = 690 USD/thang
Ph.D trong 4 nam, duoc cap 14 trieu won / nam = 12000 USD = 1000 USD/thang

Sinh vien apply vao cac truong cua Korea truoc (ko gioi han chuyen nganh),
sau khi nhan duoc admission thi apply hoc bong nay. Dieu kien la TOEFL 550,
hoc luc gioi (ko qui dinh ro~ phai la bang gioi), cac loai achievement khac
sao cho noi bat (thi quoc te, thi toan quoc, vv ...). Chuong trinh nay con
keo dai nhieu nam. Tuy nhien hoc bong nay ko exclude tuition fee. Nhung phai
noi them la tai Korea, cac lab thuong tra them tien cho sinh vien khi lam
project, so tien ay it nhat cung du tra tuition fee, nen khoan hoc bong coi
nhu la duoc dut tui. Ko yeu cau phai la nhan vien nha nuoc duoc cu di hoc,
moi doi tuong du tieu chuan la duoc tham gia.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
FOR INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE STUDENTS
By the Korean Government

The Ministry of Information and Communications offers the scholarship for international students who would like to pursue their graduate studies in information technology (IT) or related engineering and science fields at Korean universities. It is part of an initiative by the Korean government to promote international collaboration of research and education in IT through the interchange of students between Korean universities and universities in the world. This scholarship requires no services and will be awarded to 50 outstanding international students in year 2003.

Eligibility: The student who seeks for the scholarship should meet the following requirements:
1. A student who received or expect to receive by the time of enrollment, a baccalaureate degree for M.S. programs or a masters degree for Ph. D. programs with a very high academic achievement and is under the age of 35.
2. A student who has the score of at least 550 (or equivalent of 213 in CBT) on the TOEFL if English is not his/her native language.

* Foreign nationals who stay in Korea or international students who are already in the programs of Korean universities are ineligible. But the international students who have finished their masters degree and plan to apply for doctoral programs are eligible.

Financial Aid:

1. For masters program: 10 million won (or about US$ 8,300*) per year for a maximum of 2 years.
2. For doctoral program: 14 million won (or about US$ 11,600*) per year for a maximum of 4 years.

* 4 years maximum for the student who pursues both the masters and Ph. D. degrees in Korea
* The equivalent amounts in US$ are subject to change based on the exchange rate

Procedure:
1. The applicant should receive the admission from a Korean university.
2. The applicant should submit an application form through the admission granting university.
3. The application dead line for the universities will be by November, 2003.
4. The awardees of the scholarship will be announced by December, 2003.
5. The financial aid by the scholarship will be received from March 2004.

* The above is for the students who plan to start their study from March 2004. The schedule will be repeated every six month. So, the application dead line for the students with fall admission (Sept. 2004) will be by April 30, 2004.

Required documents for application:

Application form, statement of purpose, a diploma, official university transcripts, TOEFL score (if English is not native language), and two letters of recommendation
