Học bổng thạc sĩ của VU Amsterdam - Hà Lan

VU Amsterdam là một trường đại học nghiên cứu công đặt tại Amsterdam thủ đô Hà Lan, xếp hạng 136 trên thế giới (bảng xếp hạng Times Higher Education năm 2014).


Hàng năm trường có chương trình học bổng VU Fellowship Programme cho các sinh viên quốc tế từ ngoài châu Âu muốn học thạc sĩ tại trường (trị giá 15,000 euro/năm).


Học phí từng ngành học tại trườngkhác nhau, bạn cần vào website trường tìm thông tin ngành học phù hợp và học phí. Ví dụ, đối với các ngành kinh doanh/kinh tế học phí là 12,000 euro/năm, nghĩ là học bổng này cover được toàn bộ học phí và dư một ít (3,000 euro) hỗ trợ cuộc sống trong 1 năm.


Hạn nộp hồ sơ năm nay hiện rất sát: ngày 1 tháng 3 năm 2015 (chỉ cần nộp hồ sơ online và nộp phí apply qua ngân hàng) nên phù hợp nhất với các bạn năm nay đã có sẵn một bộ application sơ bộ, chỉ cần chỉnh sửa thêm để phù hợp với ngành học/học bổng. Hồ sơ admission và hồ sơ học bổng có thể nộp cùng lúc.


Chú ý là việc chọn ngành hợp với bằng đại học rất quan trọng. Mình biết một số bạn rất giỏi nhưng không qua được admission chỉ vì chọn ngành không phù hợp với các môn đã học ở đại học.


Đã có học sinh Việt Nam nhận được học bổng này. Trường VU Amsterdam rất nice với sinh viên quốc tế và sau khi cho admission trường có hỗ trợ cho sinh viên quốc tế trong việc tìm nhà và làm visa.

The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) offers talented prospective students the unique opportunity to pursue a degree in a selection of Master’s programmes at VU University. VU University has committed to providing approximately 1 million euro towards attracting highly motivated, excellent students.

All applications received by 1 March will be reviewed by the faculty at which the applicant will be participating in a Master’s programme. Faculties then nominate applicants to the central VUFP scholarship committee, which then awards scholarships to the most talented students. The award is based on the motivation letter, the quality of previous education and the student's academic performance therein. A scholarship offer will then be made *****ccessful candidates.


Eligible candidates

The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) is a scholarship for strongly motivated students with excellent study results. Eligible candidates must be able to prove their academic excellence, must be admitted to a English taught Master’s degree at VU University and do not have the Dutch nationality. Students following a one-year Master’s programme may not apply for the VUFP scholarship for a second year. Students already enrolled in a two-year Master’s programme who have not been awarded the VUFP scholarship in 2014/2015 are not eligible to apply for the VUFP scholarship 2015/2016.


Scholarships amounts

The VUFP scholarship covers your tuition fee, and provides for an allowance towards study and living costs (paid out in 3 installments over the year). Please note that the scholarship does not cover all your living expenses.


There are two variations of the VUFP scholarship:


€5.000 to students paying the tuition fee for EEA students
€15.000 to students paying the tuition fee for non-EEA students
The grant is awarded to students in their first year of a Master’s degree programme. Regarding the 2 year masters the rule is that if student has not been granted in the first year, then it does not matter how good he/she is during the year, student cannot apply for the scholarship of the second year. Only is student was granted a scholarship form the beginning, then the scholarship can be extended if he/she achieved 80% of the cre***s. The Faculty VUFP committee will be asked to demonstrate to the Central VUFP committee that these cre***s have indeed been achieved.


Application procedure

1.Register for Master’s programme
Students register for a Master's programme in Studielink and in the VUnet portal. Here you can find more information on how to apply for one of our English taught Master's programmes. Please note that you can apply for the Master programme and the VUFP scholarship simultaneously. Do, you do not have to wait for admission before applying for the VUFP scholarship.
Deadline: 1 March 2015

2.Prepare VUFP application
After the application for a Master's programme students prepare their application for a VUFP scholarship.
Fill out the VUFP application form. The form should contain the following items:
1. Proof of excellence
2. Motivation Letter
3. Financial Plan
4. CV
Save the completed application form as a PDF-file and note: ‘Studentnumber + name of study programme that your are applying for. For example ‘S2500000 – Computer Science’.


3.Submit VUFP application
Submit your VUFP application (in PDF file format) via email to vufp@vu.nl. The subject of your email should indicate your student number and the programme that you are applying for (e.g. S2500000 – Computer Science).
Deadline: 1 March 2015


4.Decision
The Central VUFP Committee decides which students will be offered a VUFP scholarship. The Committee makes a merit based selection.


5.Results
All students will receive an e-mail informing them of the Central VUPF Committee's decision concerning their application. The successful VUFP applicants will receive an e-mail containing a nomination letter, the con***ions of the VUFP scholarship and a statement of agreement.

6.Acceptance of VUFP offer
Selected candidates return the signed statement of agreement to vufp@vu.nl.
