Call for Application - Scholarships for foreigner students 2009/2010
Luiss Guido Carli is a private Italian university situated in Rome, Italy, and was founded over forty years ago. It offers a variety of courses taught in English and Italian in the fields of economics, law and political sciences.

For the next academic year 2009/2010 Luiss will be offering 6 scholarships of õ,ơ 15,000 for foreigner students.

The scholarships are meant to enable participation in the Master of Science courses that will start in September 2009 and will last for two years.

Eligible candidates
All non-Italian students already holding an undergraduate degree or finishing their undergraduate degree by July 2009 are eligible to apply for the scholarships. Although the application is open to students from all disciplines, studies in economics will be seen as advantageous.

Description of scholarships
The 6 scholarships are offered by Luiss and are intended for the complete duration of the programme (two years):
Successful candidates will benefit from a complete exemption of the annual tuition fee of õ,ơ 9,000. Furthermore, they will receive õ,ơ 6,000 per year to cover their living expenses.
All chosen candidates will be offered the possibility to complete an internship in one of the various Italian companies that cooperate with Luiss in this regard.

Selection procedure
The selection will be based on the evaluation of the letter of motivation, the reference letter and the academic records of the student. The GMAT or GRE tests are not compulsory but will positively evaluated as well.

2. Ranking và chất lượng đào tạo:
Nếu nói trên thế giới thì unranked.
Ở Rome thì LUISS là trường đại học tư thục tốt nhất, đc coi là trường của con nhà giàu. LUISS chỉ có 3 khoa: Luật / Kinh tế / Khoa học Chính trị.
Khoa Luật của LUISS là 1 trong những khoa Luật hàng đầu trong các trường đại học Ý.
Khoa Kinh tế đc coi là Bocconi của Rome.
Nói chung đây là 1 trường tốt ở Rome và Ý.
3. Cơ sở vật chất:
Trụ sở chính mới đi vào sử dụng đc 1 năm - đẹp hiện đại. Cơ sở 2 đẹp cổ điển. Cơ sở 3 (khoa Luật) chưa đến bao giờ nhưng nghe nói là đẹp kì dị.
Nhà ăn sinh viên rất rẻ (2 EUR/bữa), sạch sẽ, đồ ăn cũng ổn.
Lớp học, phòng máy mình thấy OK, hiện đại.
Thư viện chưa đến bao giờ nên ko biết.
Bác sĩ, travel agent của trường OK.
4. Về tài chính:
6.000 EUR/năm ở Rome thì phải tằn tiện mới đủ sống (phòng chắc chắn phải shared, phải tự nấu ăn hoặc ăn ở nhà ăn sinh viên, ko du lịch, ko hàng hiệu).
Nếu biết tiếng Ý có thể xin việc làm part-time ở ngoài như làm ở bar...
Nếu năng động và networking tốt thì có thể dẫn khách du lịch Việt Nam đi chơi Rome hoặc đi xuyên Ý với rate tầm 100 - 120 EUR/ngày.
Cũng có thể đi buôn nếu có khả năng.
5. LUISS đang tích cực thu hút sinh viên quốc tế. Theo mình nghĩ 6 học bổng này dựa trên geo-politics nhiều hơn là thực lực của applicants. Ít nhất sẽ có 1-2 chú TQ, ít nhất 1 chú Đông Âu. Nếu VN có đc thì max cũng chỉ đc 1 người thôi.
