[Australia] PhDs in The Areas of Computer Vision, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing and Signal Processing - Charles Sturt University and Newcrest Mining
An opportunity for two (2) highly motivated students to take on PhDs in the areas of computer vision, pattern recognition, image processing and signal processing. Both candidatesâ?T research is part of an industry supported project between CSU and Newcrest Mining. CSU shall offer a fee-free place for each successful candidate. The optimal candidate would have a clear interest in computer vision and pattern recognition. In ad***ion, the candidate should demonstrate a willingness to tackle relevant mathematical problems and to work with various software APIs for the hardware used in this project. The candidate should possess or expect to obtain Honours I or strong Honours II degree from disciplines including, but not limited to Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and/or Statistics. The applicants are also expected to have strong programming skills in C++ (or Matlab) and have some system engineering experience.

Payment Information
The value of this scholarship is AUD30000 (maximum per annum). This award is to be used for living expenses and travel. This scholarship is paid fortnightly for the period of 3 years.

This scholarship requires you to have achieved Honours 1 or equivalent. There are no restrictions on citizenship. permanent residents can apply.

Description Call for applications for a PhD candidate position at Software Composition Group, University of Bern, Switzerland.
The PhD candidate will work on a topic related to the SNF project (proposal), "Bringing Models Closer to Code".
The candidate must have a MSc in Computer Science (equivalent to Swiss MSc), should demonstrate good programming skills, and have research interests in some of the following areas:
- software evolution
- software models
- model-driven-engineering
- reverse engineering
- domain specific languages
- dynamic analysis
- integrated development environments
- programming languages design
- virtual machine technology

The proposed project will run for two years, though a followup project is planned. The PhD is expected to be completed within four years.
