    Assistant / PhD in microtechnology
    Wednesday 26. November 2008
Company Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL)
    Workplace Lausanne
Description The Laboratory of Microsystems offers a position in microfabrication technology for the realisation of a force sensor array for application underneath the foot. We envisage foil-based three-dimensional force (normal and shear forces) sensors based on inductive and capacitive read-out principles. These sensors should provide the force data of foot and ankle joints and will provide a benchmark for evaluation of foot and ankle surgery. The sensor array will provide an objective outcome evaluation tool for foot and ankle treatments. The project is in close collaboration with the Laboratory of Movement Analysis and Measurement of EPFL and the Orthopedic Hospital in Lausanne.
Education The candidate should have a university background in electronics, clean room microfabrication, materials, physics or microengineering.
Entrance upon as soon as possible
Duration of appointment initially 1 year, renewable
    Is Jobsharing possible? no
Only for persons notified workless in Switzerland? no

US][BIO] RA position - Harvard University
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Hi, Everyone,
I am a professor in the Center for Brain Science and the Department of OEB at Harvard University. I am recruiting students who are interested to pursue a PhD degree in neuroscience in my laboratory.
My laboratory uses C. elegans as a model system to study the function of neural networks and regulation of learning and memory. We combine molecular genetics, cell biology, physiology and behavioral analyses to understand the neuronal mechanisms underlying learning processes.
We are part of the newly founded Center for Brain Science at Harvard University (Center for Brain Science, Harvard University) and are located in the Northwest Science Building.
For more information about us, please visit our website: Zhang Lab Home
Students who are interested in becoming a PhD student in Zhang lab starting fall 2009, please send an email to Dr. Yun Zhang to explain your background and research interests and please attach you CV, GPA and GRE scores (General and Subject if available) to your email. The qualified students should have a bachelor degree in any sub-field of biology at the end of the summer in 2009.
Interviews will be conducted in November 2008 with student candidates.
Therefore, interested students are encouraged to contact Dr. Zhang and submit the application materials before November 20, 2008.
