Anh polimi oi, em đang kiếm cái PhD ngành tin học. Anh có thông tin cái nào, ới dùm em một tiếng nha.

Thực ra ít trường đại học ở Việt Nam có cái này bằng tiếng Anh lắm. Chủ yếu là bạn phải tự viết dựa trên những môn học bạn đã học ở Việt Nam thôi. Tuy nhiên bây giờ mình sẽ đăng toàn bộ bản course description mình viết mấy năm trước để bạn tham khảo (cũng là course description viết cho ngành tin học nộp cho Polimi).
Bachelor of Information Technology with Specialization in Software Engineering
Course Descriptions
The length of the course is 5 years divided into 10 semesters. The first four semesters mainly focus on fundamental education. The last six semesters cover more than 40 subjects and a bachelor thesis in information technology or software engineering. In Vietnam, the score scale is from 1 to 10 and ranked as follows:
- From 1 to 5: ranked as poor grade.
- From 5 to 7: ranked as average grade.
- From 7 to 8: ranked as good grade.
- From 8 to 10: ranked as excellent grade.
Each semester in Hanoi University of Technology (HUT) lasts twelve weeks. Each subject is assigned to a certain number of Vietnamese cre***s. Each cre*** is equivalent to 0.75 hour of lesson per week. For example: if the number of cre***s of a subject is 4, it means that there are 3 hours of lesson of this subject per week. The total number of cre***s of the whole program is 288 including 121 cre***s for fundamental education and 167 cre***s for professional education.
In the stage of fundamental education, there are some basic noticeable subjects as follows:
1) Mathematics: covers some topics: linear algebra and vectorial space, probability and statistics, single integral, double integral, triple integral, surface integral and numerical methods.
2) Physics: covers a variety of topics in Heat, Mechanics, Electricity and Optics.
3) Engineering: covers some subjects such as heat engineering, electrical engineering and electronic engineering.
4) Social science: political economics, philosophy, macro and micro economics, administration study.
In the stage of professional education, the program covers a wide range of subjects in some main areas of information technology (all below subjects are mandatory):
- Computer science: data structure and algorithm, C programming language, discrete mathematics, Operating systems, programming techniques, theory of computation, scientific computing, graphics and virtual reality, image processing, object ?" oriented programming technique.
- Information systems: Introduction to database systems, database management systems, information system security, artificial intelligence.
- Computer systems: electronics for IT, digital electronics, circuits and signals, digital signal processing, computer architecture, microprocessor, periphery and interface techniques.
- Computer network and communication: information transmission basis, network and data transmission.
In semester 8 and especially in semester 9, the program particularly specializes in software engineering with following subjects:
- Introduction to software engineering: provides general knowledge of software engineering such as typical software development models, different stages in software development...
- Information system analysis and design: presents popular techniques to analyze, design and model information systems.
- Software analysis and design: focuses on two stages in software development: software requirement analysis and software architectural design.
- Software construction and evaluation: focuses on detailed implementations from the architecture of software. This subject also covers testing techniques, verification and validation.
- Software project management: specializes in some issues when develop software projects: feasibility study, planning, risk management, progress monitoring and software configuration management.
- Special subject 1: focuses on developing web-based applications.
- Special subject 2: focuses on developing agent-based applications.
Besides studying, in terms of practicing, in each subject, there is a small project. In ad***ion, there are three big projects students have to complete in three periods of internship at faculty or at companies.
In semester 10, students have fifteen weeks to do the bachelor thesis. Each student has a supervisor and advisors. The supervisor can also be the advisor. Thesis?Ts topics may originate from industrial problems or may be suggested by lecturers at faculty. The thesis has to be approved by the supervisor and an opponent at least one week before presentation. Each student will present thesis?Ts results before a thesis board which may consist of the supervisor, the opponent and one or two other lecturers. The mark of the thesis is the average of the supervisor?Ts mark, the opponent?Ts mark and the thesis board?Ts mark.
After completing all subjects of the program and the bachelor thesis, students will be presented a university degree and will be conferred the title ?oEngineer of information technology?.

Chào em, năm nào Polimi cũng cấp học bổng cho ngành đào tạo tiến sỹ tin học. Khoảng tháng 3 sẽ publish thông tin apply, đến cuối tháng 7 sẽ có kết quả. Em chú ý theo dõi trên trang web của trường. Thôi copy luôn ra đây.

The next call for positions will be issued in Spring 2010 (Feb.-Mar.), for PhD positions starting in January 2011.

Năm nay, khoa điện tử tin học của Polimi bắt đầu mở thêm ngành mới là ngành điều khiển tự động, cấp bậc thạc sỹ, đào tạo bằng tiếng Anh. Những năm trước cũng có nhiều bạn hỏi ngành này, nhưng năm nay mới có bằng tiếng Anh. Là năm đầu tiên dạy bằng tiếng Anh, cũng không biết được thế nào (ý mình là về chất lượng tiếng Anh, chắc vẫn còn 1 số ít tài liệu bằng tiếng Ý). Học tại Milan. Theo mình đây là 1 lựa chọn cũng rất prospective. Vì không cần nói ai cũng thừa biết các lĩnh vực điều khiển tự động, điện máy, điện lạnh của Ý rất phát triển. Mà ngành điều khiển tự động là 1 ngành mạnh của khoa điện tử tin học. Các bạn truy cập vào web site để tìm hiểu thêm.
Ngoài ra còn có thêm 1 ngành mới hình như học ở campus Piacenza là ngành energy engineering. Chắc là liên quan đến điện. Mình không phải là dân điên nặng điện nên không biết. Ai quan tâm thì nhào zô tìm hiểu.

Hẹ, em kết cái Master of Urban Planning ở Polimi quá. Mỗi tội điểm TOEFL iBT mới thi chỉ được có 71 thôi, có hy vọng admision không các bác ơi.

Về vấn đề tiếng Anh mình có thể trả lời thế này:
1) Thứ nhất, người Ý ko quan trọng tiếng Anh như ở Việt Nam coi tiếng Anh như tiếng bà ngoại (hơn cả tiếng mẹ đẻ). Cho nên bạn qua Ý, tiếng Anh có kém 1 tý cũng ko sao, mọi người cũng không nghĩ là vấn đề to tát.
2) Người Ý thường linh động, người ta nói 6 điểm IE, có người 5.5 người ta vẫn lấy. Thường thì ko phải lúc nào người ta cũng làm theo qui tắc đã được định trước. Cái kiểu khi nói thì nói A, khi làm thì làm B ở đây là chuyện bình thường.
Nói tóm lại, nếu bạn không nâng được điểm tiếng Anh lên thì cũng cứ nộp.

Cám ơn bác Polimi làm em thêm tự tin. Em đang cố gắng ôn thi lại tiếng Anh tầm qua Tết, đồng thời vẫn sẽ chuẩn bị hồ sơ sẵn để nộp theo như lời bác. Hy vọng apply được trường này.
Còn quả nói A làm B thì em hoàn toàn ủng hộ các bác dân Ý, con người chứ có phải máy móc đâu mà cứ phải răm rắp A là A, B là B. Hị hị, em cũng là cái loại "nói một đằng làm một nẻo" mờ.

Em có một câu hỏi hơi ngớ ngẩn chút là em apply vào 2 khoa khác nhau trong cùng một trường Polimi thì có cần gởi 2 lần hay không, hay một lần là được?

Ôi bạn này giống mình năm ngoái . Bạn làm theo hướng dẫn của họ trên trang ở trường đấy.
Năm ngoái mình làm thế này.
Khoa A: Tất cả hồ sơ vào một folder (ghi rõ địa chỉ của khoa như họ hướng dẫn)
Khoa B: Tất cả hồ sơ cũng vào 1 folder ( địa chỉ khoa)
Một folder thật lớn ( bỏ cả 2 folder của khoa A và khoa B vào trong ) gửi đến địa chỉ của trường. Họ tự chuyển đến các khoa thế nào mình cũng chả rõ , việc của họ. Vấn đề là sau khi nhận được họ thong báo trên trang web cho mình. Vấn đề là sau khi được admit cả 2 khóa bạn phải chú ý chỉ được chọn 1 trong hai khoa để xét scholarship thôi. Khi accept 1khoa thì khoa kia tự động bị reject.
Chúc may mắn. Mình cũng thích Polimi nhưng cuối cùng cũng không học .
