I do agree that it''s rather unfortunate. =) But I still speak it rather fluently, only when I stumble upon hard words that I find it hard to pronounce, other than that I still speak it rather well. =) Still read novels, write poems and such. Sometimes people can recognise a weird sound to the way I speak Vietnamese, but truly, =) I still speak it okay-ish. I can still do "Hue" and "Sai Gon" and "Ha Noi" accents!!! Em cũng có hơn gì bác đâu. Em cũng đâu có phải là phiên dịch chuyên nghiệp đâu. Thật ra, nhiều khi mình hiểu tiếng Anh nói gì nhưng mà lại không có vốn từ tiếng Việt thành ra không biết dịch sang tiếng Việt ra sao. Nghe thì nực cười nhưng sự thật là vậy. Đối với những câu như thế này, chuyển ngữ sẽ hay hơn là dịch word by word.
Netwalker sẽ dịch câu đó như sau:

Theo như alleykat nghe quen tai thì Merriam-Webster trong Đại Hoc được xem như standard nên họ phân biệt chính xác hơn và có lẽ đúng hơn cả . Cách phát âm tiếng Mỹ thì nhiều dialect vì tương đôi đất rộng, nhưng dialect của miền Đông Bắc đọc dễ nghe nhất , bạn đừng lo vì sang đây tùy vùng bạn ở, nhất là California, bạn nói sao người ta cũng hiểu mà , cứ nghe quen đi rồi sẽ đọc đuợc đúng , vả lại đúng với vùng này thì sẽ hơi khác với vùng kia, cũng như giọng nói ba miền Bắc, Nam, Trung khác nhau tí ti bên Việt Nam nhưng nói ra đa số ai cũng hiểu mà . Bạn nói rất đúng , nếu nhiều sources cho ta nhiều cách đọc khác nhau thì thật là hơi confusing đấy , nhưng xin bạn đừng bận tâm, cứ chọn 1 cái Merriam-Webster tập đọc là đủ rồi , nhớ chi nhiều cho mệt óc chúc bạn cuối tuần vui vẻ nhé
