I'm a student of English. As the other universities, i think, in ours, we have to study through lecture and through presentation also.
Presentation is the most active way of study as far as I know. However it's likely to turn into the passive if we don't take it seriously enough, especially when we're the audience, not the presenter.
Within this page, the object i'd like to forcus on is the audience. Here're some necessary doings an audience should do, which i could contribute to the club:

    1. Read the material the teacher provides us or the one concerning with the topic the presenter is going to give in his/her presentation several weeks before it, so that we have enough time to absorb, to take in the matter.

    2. Search for extra information in library or on net in order to discover more aspects of the matter, then think of it, and bring it in the discussing time after each presentation.

    3. In the course of it, our concentration is the minimum of "effort" we should make to be able to follow every steps of the presentation to compare with our opinion, and to argue with the presenter if necessary...

(Nói thiệt là mình cũng chưa thực hiện được những điều này thường xuyên )

I'm sure that you have other better ways to share with us. Please drop some lines to let us know your opinion.

Interesting. A presentation's success, it's true, depends on both the speaker(s) and the audience. and while presentational skill should be one of the most important skills to focus on in college English courses, it is not given enough concentration by both students and teachers.
Actually I have some materials regarding this issue. Dont have them here but will bring them on tomorrow if I have time.
    Best.

Well, I think the most important factor for a good presentation is "confidence". Two fundamental ways to build your confidence are:
1_ Understand the topic thoroughly by doing researchs. Information can be available from ... everywhere (newspapers, books, internet...). The more efforts you put in, the better understanding you gain.
2_Practise many times and importantly, in front of other people like your family and friends. The more you practise, the more fluent and confident you are.
Besides, some other factors can significantly improve your performance:
Eye contact: Try to keep eye contact with every one, regularly scan the crowd, don't just look at 1 person. Otherwise, people will feel being ignored.
Body language: Move your hand to demonstrate what you are trying to say. This helps you to express the points and make the presentation more interesting.
Visual Aid: Using pictures, Graphs, Projector, Power point to show the audiences your main points.
Feel relax, try to make it as funny as you can. Try to finish your talk in 15-20 mins. You should have intro, main points, conclusion. Try to mention the main points again and again coz they can be easily forgotten.
Don't look at papers, slips. Memorize it, but speak naturally. Change your tone, pace...
    Good luck !

IT'S SO SIMPLE TO BE WISE. JUST THINK OF SOMETHING STUPID TO SAY AND SAY THE OPPOSITE
