As a New York City state funded school fourth grader, I got a few hours of homework and we were not really slacking off in class. At the time, I disliked the workload because it regularly kept me from playing outside after school - I needed to get my work done first and frequently couldn't finish it before it got dark. My teacher truly thought about our best positioned class (there were four fourth grade classes positioned 1-4) and needed to push us. Many children in my class scored high on tests and created train that was helpful for youngsters in a low-income neighborhood. I'm not thumping different types of accomplishment and instructive experience, however scoring great on tests is one of only a handful couple of courses out for poor children and a route for them to be dealt with as equivalents.
