Candidates will: + be entitled to work in the United Kingdom, part-time or full-time. + be a good user of both written and spoken English and Vietnamese. + be sympathetic and impartial to all parties. + be honest and committed. + be realistic and have common sense. Initial pay for the first 3 months are Ê17/h (all inclusive) OR Ê5/h - for traveling time, Ê10/h - for interpreting time, plus travel expenses. The jobs are seasonal as you are to be trained on the job for a period of 6 to 9 months (depending on how much progress you have made). During this time you will be expected to step in for our regular interpreters whenever they are unavailable. At the end of the 6/9 month apprenticeship period we will ask you to take further tests so we can measure your progress and find out how close you are to a professional interpreter. Payments for those passing these final tests will range from Ê7/h - for traveling time, Ê11/h - for interpreting time to Ê9/h - for traveling time, Ê18/h - for interpreting time (plus travel expenses), depending on the type of job.
