    The ?oCat Ba langur conservation project? , a collaboration between the Zoological Society for the Conservation of Species and Populations - ZGAP, Münster Zoo (Germany), and the Peoples?T Committee of Hai Phong aimes to conserve the critically endangered Golden-headed Langur or Cat Ba Langur.
    Project activities are focused on monitoring and managing of the langur population, implementation of protection measures, capacity-building for staff of the forest protection agencies and local conservation groups, promotion of public conser­vation awareness and sustainable forest management practices.
    ZGAP is now seeking Vietnamese nationals for the positions of Project Officer and/or Field Officer. Both officers will work under direct supervision of the Project Manager / Assistant.

    Project Officer:
    The project officer will be involved in all aspects of this project.
    Responsibilities include:
    - Assistance with project management and administration
    - Assistance with the implementation of protection and conservation measures
    - Coordination of community and protection forces related activities
    - Production of draft reports, plans, budgets of project activities
    - Translation of project documents and interpretation during meetings
    - Assistance with the preparation of educational material
    - Control and management of all project and protection equipment
    - Coordination of field work including participation in field work
    Qualification requirements:
    - Fluent in English (spoken and written).
    - Good knowledge of MS office software (especially Word and Excel);
    - University degree and work experience with international projects
    - Good interpersonal skills
    - Availability to take part in field work preferred
    - Strong commitment to and interest in conservation and environment protection
    Field officer:
    The field officer will be involved in surveys and community-based conservation work
    Responsibilities include:
    - Monitoring of the langur population
    - Supervision of community-based conservation work, and of the ranger-community cooperation network
    - Implementation of activities towards the promotion of public conser­vation awareness and sustainable forest management practices,
    - Assistance with the preparation of educational material, and the organisation of training.
    Qualification requirements:
    - Fluent in English (spoken and written).
    - Good knowledge of MS office software (especially Word and Excel);
    - University degree (biology, forestry, agriculture, other natural resource management disciplines)
    - Good interpersonal skills
    - Previous work experience with international projects
    - work experience in conservation and / or rural development.
    - Physically fit to conduct field work

    The POLICY project Viet Nam is pleased to offer an opportunity for a short term internship with the organization. The purpose of the internship is to provide an opportunity for suitably qualified or experienced people who wish to learn more about HIV/AIDS in Viet Nam and the related policy environment including, evidence based policy development, participatory policy approaches and the involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS in HIV/AIDS responses.
    The POLICY Project Viet Nam is an international agency funded by USAID and is managed by the Futures Group in Washington DC, USA.
    The successful applicant will be introduced to the general work of the POLICY Project and will work with POLICY Project staff and management. The intern will receive mentoring and supervision and will be expected to take an active role in the activities of the organization for the period of the internship.
    Con***ions of the Internship
    The Position is based in Hanoi and is offered for a period of from 3 months to up to 6 months beginning in July 2005. It can be full or part time.
    Applicants must be Vietnamese citizens and be able to speak and read English very well.
    Preference will be given to applicants who are:
    1) Students undertaking a relevant course of postgraduate study with a view to working in HIV/AIDS and particularly interested in working with policy issues and advocacy. Students who have just finished undergraduate studies will be considered if there are no appropriate candidates currently in graduate school; or
    2) People living with HIV/AIDS who are interested in learning more about the HIV/AIDS policy environment with a view to increasing their involvement in HIV/AIDS activities.
    The successful applicant will receive a stipend for the duration of the internship.

    PROJECT MANAGER

    - Company Profile : Save the Children UK (SC UK) is an international development and child rights agency. SC UK seeks a Project Manager (Vietnamese national, having ability and willingness to travel for extended periods) to manage and develop our work in early childhood and education in Muong Lay district, Dien Bien province. The overall objective of the project is to assist the government of Vietnam in establishing the necessary enabling environments for the most poor and vulnerable communities in three provinces to provide young children with the opportunities to develop to their full potential, through family and community support and through strengthening local ECCD institutions.
    The project " Early Childhood Care and Developmentõ? is a joint project of the Save the Children Alliance, including Save the Children UK (SC UK), Save the Children US (SCUS) and Save the Children Japan ( SCJ), with SCUK as the lead agency, and implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Training in the three provinces of Yen Bai, Quang Tri and Dien Bien. The project is funded by a grant from the Japanese Social Development Fund (JSDF Grant TFO 52939), a trust fund managed by the World Bank. The total grant is USD1,910,800. The project runs for 3 years, starting from April 2004.
    The overall objective of the project is to assist the government of Vietnam in establishing the necessary enabling environments for the most poor and vulnerable communities in three provinces to provide young children with the opportunities to develop to their full potential, through family and community support and through strengthening local ECCD institutions (eg education and health service providers).
    The project include the following main components:
    1.Families and community support
    2.Strengthening Local ECCD Institution õ?" Supporting pre-schools, transition into schools and health programme/service
    3.Monitoring and evaluation
    4.Document sharing and lesson learned
    - Job Description: Main tasks
    In close consultation and cooperation with local project partners and relevant Save the Children staff, the consultant shall design, supervise and support the different activities on child stimulation and education as described in all the component A, B, C and D of the approved proposal.
    Specific responsibilities
    õ?ÂWork in accordance with the aims, principles, policies of Save the Children Alliance and the project objectives .
    õ?ÂParticipate in development of document for parenting and care giving section.
    õ?ÂProvide capacity building for Commune ECCD networking groups on parenting and advising on early learning and education activities.
    õ?ÂWork with districts and commune education sector for planning, monitoring and supervision of early learning and education activities and be responsible for the implementation of the education activities in accordance with the approved project proposal
    õ?ÂWork closely with pre-school education system for mobilizing resources and effective implementation of theses programme in project areas.
    õ?ÂParticipate in designing and development of IEC materials, ECCD package and campaign on child stimulation, early learning and education focusing on language issues for ethnic minorities.
