I did not mean to sneak in this forum without saying hi to all members . I've been following this Saigon English Club (SEC) for a while . I am truly amazed at how good your English skill is, at least for some of you (those, I assume never live outside Vietnam) , especially Dirosemimi , Johntrung , Tao Lao ... Give yourself a pat in the back , your English is much better than half of the US population . My hat's is off to you all at SEC .

I resettled in the US but left part of my heart in Saigon .... Born and raised there, I can't help but loving that city . So much for the "me" . Kindly consider accepting me into your club , will ya ! Pleaaaase !

    Hi bro TDHung,
I hope i will be read a lot of articles by you in this forum.Last time, i read your article in the topic "how do you think about Americans".I want to thank you very much for your remark.I will try my best to learn in this topic, esspeccally from you.
My understanding  about American is very limited (i have read and listened about American but it is said that "tram nghe khong bang mat thay" is).The more i know about American, the more i admire them.I have known that they have right policies in developing their country.
"Trong nguoi ma ngam den ta".I wonder when Vietnam can catch up the country. It 's almost impossible.Just comparing to some neighbour countries, ours is backward. And something like that are often found in the dosmestic newspapers "Trung quoc da xay dung..." day by day while we and they are in the same con***ions. The problem  is how to stop it,how to develop the country.
Learning about achievments of foreign countries to admire and praise them. But how to do what they achieved for our country? That is the most important.

    Hi Tao_Lao ,
If we can clone a few million Tao_Lao , I believe we can bring Vietnam to a prosperous country . Young, well educated and a burning desire to make VN a better place . Who else is in a better position ? Right Tao_Lao ? What reaaally attracted my attention was, with a screen-name "Tao Lao" , you wrote a deep and poignant article that was not even close ... tao lao . .

Nice talking to you, bro Tao Lao . Please feel free to call me by my first name : Hưng .

It's not wealth one asks for, but just enough to preserve one's dignity, to work unhampered,to be generous, to be independent

    Hi SEC (Saigon English Cluc)
    To hcn8295 ,
I am not exaggerating . Half of the US population is terrible in English writing . Common errors are double negation, i.e. "You don't know nothing" , using unconventional, slang term , like "I ain't go" , misspelling (the most common error is the word "believe" that's misspelled as "beleive" ) . Just to mention a few . Remember that less than 30 % of the population has college equivalent education . Complacency is also a problem. Since English is not our mother tongue, we tend to be more careful in writing it, often proof reading it a few times, verifying thru dictionary and exert caution in spelling . They don't .
    To Johntrung ,

It's nice to know someone like you . Not only you amazed me with your English skill, I also love you eagerness in ameliorating your skills and your readiness in admitting error in order to absorb more knowledge (the past and present tense's discussion you had in one of the thread) . I'm, too, learning every day from all sources, including this forum .
Smile and have a nice day. Very tough (for me) with the oven-like heat of Houston's summer

To TDHung, so, what you try to tell me that people used slang, double negation , miss-spelling... in USA, that make you thinks, that half of population are " terrible English"? you sound like " e^ch' ngo^i` đay' gie^ng' " young men.
Do not just the people from what they are, or what they say- a lot of Vietnamese with college graduated, did use slang ( ko = khong; rui`= ro^i`...). May be their use they power, their money to buy their education, and I heard that 80% of them did that. So, can I thinks, that more than 50% of Vietnamese population are " cheating people" ? No, I don't think so, buddy!!!!
I am not going to talk about this anymore! let your heart be where you want to be.
    Good luck
To Dorosemimi, I will be in Saigon` some time, this Summer can I stop by, and chat in one of your speaking section?
