Tớ không phải dân tin học đâu. Nhưng vẫn xin múa rìu chia sẻ chút ít, vì lúc đầu mới cài mấy cái chương trình này cũng loay hoay mãi, nhất là lúng túng giữa khái nhiệm POP3 và IMAP4. (hộp thư của tớ xài chuẩn IMAP)
Bạn dùng Outlook (tớ dùng Netscape và IncrediMail) để truy cập đến hộp thư của bạn từ xa, nên phải khai báo thông tin về server đó. Có lẽ là bạn có 2 địa chỉ thư (account) khác nhau @yahoocom và @hn.vnn.vn (maybe).
- Khai báo Incoming Server: server type (POP hoặc IMAP, yahoo dùng chuẩn thông dụng POP3), server name (với yahoo là pop.mail.yahoo.com), account name (thông thường chính là phần đầu tên địa chỉ thư của bạn, không có @yahoo.com), log-in password, nếu không muốn khai báo password mỗi lần mở outlook thì click remember password (có lẽ thế, tớ không rõ trong outlook lắm).
- Khai báo Outgoing server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com (bạn viết là vnn.vn, có lẽ sai). Thông thường ở đây không cần password.
Cụ thể là:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Click the "Add" button.
From the Add menu, click "Mail."
In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
Select "POP3" to answer the question "My incoming mail server is a???."
In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server box, type "pop.mail.yahoo.com"
In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server box, type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com"
Click "Next."
In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (without the "@yahoo.com").
In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail Password.
If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
Do not check the "Log on using secure password" box.
Click "Next."
Click "Finish."
To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server:
From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
Select the "Mail" tab.
Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com"
Select the "Advanced" tab.
In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.

Hotmail chỉ dùng html thôi, không xài được mấy chương trình kia đâu. Các địa chỉ free mail khác thì cũng tương tự. Quan trọng là bạn biết nó dùng giao thức nào, POP hay IMAP, địa chỉ server là gì. Nếu cho phép dùng outlook hay netscape truy cập đến thì thế nào cũng có thông báo những chi tiết đó.

Well, riêng chương trình outlook express cũng hỗ trợ cho hotmail (chúng nó cùng một mẹ mà). Nhưng phải có Outlook Express ít nhất là 5.5, bản trial của OE cũng xài được, nhưng bị hạn chế, còn các chương trình duyệt mails khác như Netscape hay Incredimal thì chịu, không có cách nào kết nối với hotmail được, tốt nhất là đi đăng ký yahoo xài POP3.
Cách cài đặt để OE nhận thư từ hotmail như thế này:
+ In Outlook Express, click Accounts on the Tools menu.
+ In the Internet Accounts dialog box, click Add, and then click Mail.
+ On the first page of the Internet Connection Wizard, type your full name, and then click Next.
+ On the Internet E-mail Address page, type your full Hotmail address (name@hotmail.com).
+ On the E-mail Server Name page, click HTTP in the My incoming mail server is box.
+ In the box My HTTP service provider is, click Hotmail or Other.
+ If the box Incoming mail server is displayed, type http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp.
+ On the Internet Mail Logon page, type your account name and password in the respective boxes. Your account name is the first half of your MSN Hotmail e-mail address (the information before the @ sign).
+ Click Finish to add your Hotmail account to Outlook Express.
