Marketing Management, written by Philip Kotler, is the first marketing book I read. At that time I did not understand much, but there is the case study which I never forget. The story tells about a American shoes company decided to extend its market into an island in Pacific Ocean. First, they appointed the financial executive to find consumable competence of that market. After several days, he referred: ?othe residents did not wear shoes then there is no market?. To confirm that, the best businessmen in the company was sent to there. His report said: ?othe residents did not wear shoes then there is a large market?, one week ago. Finally, the vice-president was deputed to assess correctly state of affairs. After two weeks, he informed: ?othe residents did not wear shoes, however, their feet are looked very bad and shoes will be useful for them. Of course, we should redesign the shoes because their feet are smaller than ours. We also should give them education of benefits of wearing the shoes and cooperate with the eldest of the tribe. The people have no money here, but they grow a lot of the pineapples. I estimated the number of the pineapples in three years next and all of our expen***ure, including delivering them in the EU supermarkets network, conclusion, we can get 30% profit. We need go ahead?.

    UNIT : LANGUAGE
    1) Law makers always make use of media and press to disseminate law to public which quickly makes individual awareness of road safety. The lack of basic traffic law from increasing number of suburbanites in Hanoi city can severly impede public traffic development or can halt it. Frankly said, awareness of traffic participants is below level of standard, much lower rate to compare with some neighbouring countries in South East Asia like Thailand, China, Singapore.
Should erect/have some warning signs along the highways/motorways, especially at the dangerous/black spots, drawing pictures with metaphorical/literal meaning of traffic safety. Foreign periodicals cited great numbers of fatal accidents in Vietnam as evidence of the lack of /awareness by traffic participants/local awareness. However, this is not a easy task, individual behaviours including the awareness of public traffic from massive, has been permeated their blood which can prolong adjustable process in accordance with required regulations & laws of modern society.
    2) Universal serial bus (USB) is designed with principal purpose of data dissemination from mobile devices, such as laptop, mobile, pdâ? to it or vice versal. The invention of this tiny device is greatly useful and public knowledge for officers, who are always engaged in communication, computerized database. Various kinds of USB are available and can be easily found in daily hi ?"tech/IT journal, perplexing consumers which one suites them most, /can be solved by consultancy of/the quickest way is to consult/ a IT expert.
    3) Insular attitude must be eradicated among members of team work, otherwise working atmosphere and collective solidarity would be seriously affected, decreasing working efficiency. For example, a group join /take part/ in a project of new product lanching ?" for its assumption that just single one disbelieves the success of its, lead to his unconcern of what he should do to accomplish his part of project ?" so how this project can be /a resounding success/notably successfully .
    4) English is the most common foreign language used for our outgoing correspondence, as to communicate with aboard partners. The publicity of one best seller, appeared on book ?"shelves early last week, titled ?oEnglish business letters in usê? was warmly/highly welcomed by foreign language learners & finally sold like hot cakes. As informed by Hanoi department of publishing house, volume of 1 million books are already on the market. A scheme of drafting content of 2nd episode/volume has been outlined by author. In the former time, being a writer of literature or academic tomes, didn?Tt bring about remarkable income but greatly changed in this developing society. One outstanding/obvious example is Mrs J.K. Rowling, a well ?"known author of serial best seller, headlined ?o Harry Potter?. The publishing of this serial best seller would finish, officially announced following 7th episode/volume in October, 2007 but an extra episode, described personal life of Harry Potter - main character of the book, appeared as to sastify the great demand of fanatic world ?"wide readers.
    5) PM *************** has just openly declared of Vietnam inflation index in fiscal year of 2008, as high as 25%. Every consuming goods rise uncontrolly and monthly expenses, drawn by most governmental staffs don?Tt corresponce with income without mention of saving enough money to buy better houses instead of cramped houses which has lived for years from ancestor generation. In current situation of world ?"wide economic crisis, a stable/enough life with family happiness is my highly desirable. As saying ?o One can?Tt identify happiness with health?. Serious consequences of current financial crisis are widely spreading all over the world, affecting not only giant consortiums, financial organizations and companies in United States and Europê?directly dealing with United States organizations but also be able to disrupt above -mentioned wish of ordinary people in places, locating some thousand miles away from other hemisphere, our country - Vietnam was by no mean exempt.
    6) To grasp comprehensive understanding of specialist documents, one should make a reference to printed book/booklet of technical glossaries to ensure consistency when material is being translated. This is obviously demonstrated in filed of informatics technology (IT), metallurgy, fossil fuel and so on.

UNIT : WHAT IS PORT CITY & THE MOTOR CAR
    1) Urban sprawl of Hanoi city is clearly recognized, mainly caused of traffic congestion by massive means of transportation such as : trucks, buses, coaches, motorbikes, bicycles, even, at time, pedicabs at The Old quarter area. One must ?"mentioned element of bringing about this chaos is large number of migrants into Hanoi city in the last 10 years/decade since urban life seems to be fruitful for suburbanites. Most of them work as sellers of daily goods such as vegetable, household items, groceries?.,primarily/mainly occupied/worked by female, while men earn livelihood by selling themselves as labourers in different careers, required from clients. Not a few of incidents are arisen/occured relating to this unmanaged source of labour and later draws to it lost disorder, legal problems. Hanoi should follow its right path, initially outlined by our government of being a centre of politics, economy, culture and society but doesn?Tt means this goes with/accompanies disproportioned development of society in other respects so that principal functions are no longer dominant.
Vietnam has different 54 minority groups/ tribes, distributed all over Vietnam with their own tra***ions, cultures and ideas, enriching our diverse society, most of them still be in poor con***ion of life and limited knowledge. What we should challenge herewith is ways/methods/solutions to develop society proportionally between urbans and non ?"urban places, (this will) remarkably decrease waves of migrants into urban areas.
As more foreign capital pours into Vietnam territory, numbers of factories & production areas to be built in the countryside will be increased, help to transform agricultural land into industrial one. In visible aspect/term/ of estate/finance, locals will lose their own land or governmental ?" own land, used for cultivation of liveihood for many years but also provide wide ranges of opportunities to be employed at those projects. If they manage to work hard as to gain experiences of foreign-management environment, their prospective life can be changed in a better way. A proverb said ?o Every coin has two sides?, but it is important to point out the appropriate side for your opportunity/chance.
In conclusion, lives of people wherever they live in city or rural areas, will harvest positive results by the advent of the booming external trade, if they know how to take opportunity, not to bypass the formal guidelines of government and reliable official organs.
    2) Economy development of Hai Phong city is greatly depended on its port. Without mention of bolstering up local economy, helped bring about the chances to local labour. Large quantity of cargo ships dock at port where loading and unloading tasks are implemented, required massive labour force to break up bulk material at port site. Hai Phong city is likely to develop in another respects but local retain clever mind of doing business, permeated their behaviour and character, not easily modified by time passes by.
    3) Emission of public transportation in Hanoi, mostly comes from old means of transportation, still be in use on streets, turned our capital into a giant chimney in rush hours. This caused Hanoians much iritation, led to the greenhouse effect, air pollution and breath problems/hazard.
    4) The recent appearance/establishment of mail air in Vietnam made rapid freight delivery possible over a wider area, which is affordable/reasonable for dosmetic delivery but still be costly with rapid - international delivery to compare with average income of Vietnamese. For example, it normally costs me about 150,000 VND for below 100 gram - mail delivery of France, of course, this is normal delivery, can be understood as slow delivery (of mail). If recipient want to get/receive it in 2 -3 days from delivery date, you will have to pay from 600,000 VND to 700,000 VND, equivalent to 45 USD.
As I remembered, international calls from Vietnam were very expensive before year of 2002, it could cost you about 50,000 VND per minute for outgoing call, led to our great hesitance inspite of great need now and then. But it has changed substantially now, fee of international calls decreased remarkably, it can be just 7,000 VND per minute, provided better facility for those who always contact with destinations outside of Vietnam for business or personal purposes/affairs. Besides, internet users can make use of online chat softwares such as Yahoo Messenger (YM) or Skype, widely using in office staffs, saved large amount of office expense/cost on a monthly basic.
Nowadays, modern technologies can make profound changes in everyday world, affecting our life in a positive way, varies from housework affairs with the washing machine, peanut peeler, pump, cash register/machine to office facility such as air ?"con***ioner, fax machine and printer?
Another obvious/oustanding example /for the benefit/ of hi ?"tech gained in developing countries is electronically tolled highways, helped decreasing volume/number/quantity of involved/direct employees at check ?"point. Hopefully, this will be /soon deployed/feasible scheme in Vietnam, increasing/improving individual awareness of traveling expenses distribution by transportation participants

UNIT : ABSENTEEISM IN NURSING : A LONGITUDINAL SUTY
    1) Absenteeism in student life
Absent from class is rarely seen in classes at high schools, more true with lower levels of study such as : primary, secondary school since has closer attentions of their parents to chidren study. But prevalent absenteeism among undergraduates was easily recognized & understood.
As soon as finish high school, pupil will have to take an entrance examination as to step into junior college, vocational school, private school or college (university), varing from 2 to 5 years, depends on which place you passed & choose to follow. Studying at this level requires self ?"studying attitude of learners. In this level, the present of students differs from lower levels, row- call is done now and then & your classmate can help you in this matter in case of your absence.
That explained the reasons of 100% ratio of student presence at classes of undergraduates was never seen.
It has advantages of student life to access library for needed information, textbooks, technical researches and more flexible learning environment but students should have better awareness of self -study attitude. Your parent will be hardly summoned by The dean or headmaster for your committed mistakes, except some extremely serious reasons that could drive you out of school.
    2) As regulated by Vietnam law, applied/implemented in society and working places, women who have just given birth have 4 months paid leave entitlement allowed them in their employment con***ions for bringing up the baby. Researches of pediatricians showed that mothers should give suck to their babies in the first 6 months of their life, as to gain the proportional nutrition needed for babies, no need of providing complementary ingredents such as porridge, cooked milk?. Amazingly, only 4 months leave allowed for mothers according to our current legistration, so how can this valid leave completely done ?

Nowadays, modern society emphasises the gender equality between male and female, so woman also engages actively in not only housework matters but also social activities, consumed much time of woman but this againsts the long -established tra***ion by Asian ideology that family care is principal function of woman. This goes with time allocated for family affairs is greatly decreacing. As to solve this situation, baby -sitter or servant in households has became an indispensable part in contemporary life.
Paid leave entitlement in Vietnam government offices is different from how local people in other developing countries utilised. As generally written in labour contracts, employees have right to get paid leave with specific number of days, depends on working places granted. For example, one foreign staff can have totally 3 weeks of holiday leave annually, can be utilised with 4 different periods in maximum ?" it is normally be taken for travelling somewhere twice or three times a year to recharge battery for working enthusiasm and lessen stresses. In contrary, Vietnamese people tend not to utilize them in appropriate/valid ways or going on holiday, even travelling within Vietnam with paid leave allowed annually but take these days off ?" absence from work with the following most frequent reasons were minor illness to self or illness in family, family social function, work to do at home and bereavement. Leave entitlement is created to improve quality of working environment, can be seen as material incentives for labourers to work harder. This can?Tt be reasoned for our non-implementation by limited budget, what should be challenged herewith is our attitude toward this matter.
As our society futher developed, hopefully this ideology can be changed in a better way, brings about the active purposes/meanings of paid leave allowed for labourers.
    3) Our bonus salary is caculated, set on criteria of 3 following principal factors : sales volume, profit and not less important is time ?"limit/duration for accounting. This method of calculation has just been implemented since early this year, strongly/greatly afftected to our monthly income and led to prompt modification in tra***ional working methods. Statistics of above -listed factors is collected & given out publicly at department meeting?Ts roster, held at the end of each quarter. From 2008 onward, bonus salary was allocated to us in monthly basic but has been revised and paid plus our monthly income. That why, word of ?o monthly incomê? is written above.
    4) National holidays be held annually, officially/formally recognized by labour law of Vietnam allow days off for governmental officials. Most of these holidays last 1 day only but few events are longer than 2 days, if these events coincide with weekend or next to weekend or even up to 4 ?" 5 days like celebration of Lunar new year. Locals usually make use of this calculation to be absent before and after days off, excessive weekend, night duty absence and multiple single days off. This is prevalent trend of administrative staffs, who don?Tt want to utilize their holiday leave entitlement but abuse of excessive holiday leave.
    5) Cease ?"fire are mutual approved by Isarel and Palestine now and then but this peace atmospheres of Jordan?Ts west bank were not absolutely maintained, caused by suicide attackers. Fighting situation here seem to be long ?"term genuine illness for involved sides, there was little chance of workable negotiations in couple of decades. The most suffering people are residents of both sides, benefited little from rapid development of outside developing world, being likely casualties from daily fierce encounters. Prolonged fighting situation between Isarel and Palestin over 2 decades had disheartened by governmental leaders of healing bilateral relationship.
United Nation (UN), United States of America & concerned sides such as China, Russia also interfere in the peace process in West of Jordan. These acts wished to contribute to the process?Tpromoting momentum. Notwithstanding the great concerns of involved countries, it is painful saying that all carried out- efforts seemed to be in vain and a tangible failure can be evaluated/assessed.
One could easily realise the plot of America government, interfered in great numbers of hot spots/destinations all over the world, especially the sensitive areas like Middle East, Asiâ? to gain larger decree of control in strategic nations against rival goverments. That explained why White House didn?Tt regret about war casualties & military expen***ure spent on large ?"scale campaigns/operations

UNIT : GREEN WAVE WASHES OVER MAIN STREAM SHOPPING
    1) In trend of common developing of society, the business of dosmetic enterprises flourish noticeably, partly benefited from the opening door policy of Vietnam govement which one of essential steps is our joining into World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007. This threshold of global integration has opened up a wider door to much larger market but greater challenges as well for local companies, entrepreneurs competiting/facing with foreign companies.
Futher developing in trade turnover, logically goes with increasing volumes of production process, led to environmental issues. In developing countries, both government and private enterprises have production process, directly involving with environment always allocate specific/certain budget for environmental protection. It is quite different in awareness of environmentalism by economic classes in Vietnam. Generally thinking of environmental context is merely society responsibility, not their own tasks, thus inappropriate solutions and misjudging the importance of green productioners is inevitable.
Issues of green consumers should be taught earlier, even at elementary schools, focus on children of 6 years old up whose initial awareness begin to evolve.
Individual awareness plays a vital meaning in shaping/forming her own characters. Frankly estimated, Vietnamese are not law conformers. The obey of traffic law and regulations by local prove this inference. If one stops at red light after midnight, he would be considered as an eccentric by others. How can you possess good behaviours in the mean while most others tend not to be ethical citizens!

    2) Buying goods in supermarkets & shopping malls has been firmly established as a mainstream market for prosperous families in main cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh. Uncontrolled boom of local markets in almost every residential areas, making urban more chaotic. This can be greatly convenient for local consumers but being serious obstacles for architectural planners of urbans. As to meet the growing demand of modern society, local authorities tend to move unconcentrated traders to trading places, well ?"managed by relevant bodies/organizations, this will deter street vendors/hawkers from selling everywhere they wander.
    22 Oct, 2008
    UNIT : THE KEYLESS SOCIETY
    1) 20th decade of Vietnam society, conventional key is the most common tool to access rooms, officies at deluxe or hight class trade buildings, hotels in large cities. For the last 5 years, we have witnessed the rapid development of hi ?"tech, used in providing more safety/security facilities for users/owners with the presence/birth of biometric security system such as voices, irises, retinas and fingerprint scanner is the most widely developed type of biometric application. Your identities must be authenticated to access the room. This is to avoid the penetration of strangers and gate crashers in housing estates.
To date, one of the most widely used commercial biometric system in developing countries is camera ?"voice phone door. Now use this application to verify visitors claiming to be your guests are genuine. Of course, everyone knows that social order is responsibility of law ?"enforcement agencies but as an idom saying that ?oPrevention is better than curê?. We should do something necessary/useful to protect us before aksing outside help of relevant organizations when it is too late.
Nowadays, above ?"listed biometric security systems are not insufficient with our monthly income and can been seen as pilot project for high-security government institution. Hopefully, the standard living of Vietnamese will improve enough for the prices to drop sufficiently to make them commercially viable, as to equip with our houses enhancing security.
Another way to own these costly equipments is asking acquaintances, living in developing countries for purchasing. Second-hand sytems using fingerprint, voice, hand are available on the flea markets.
Not surprisingly, biometric raises thorny questions about infrastructure sufficient with the utility of this advanced applications to everyday life. It would be ridiculous to equip a small, cheap house with fingerprint scanner system! Biometric security systems are currently focused on small but potential market ?" prosperous families, easily tempted to use the technology to enhance their life quality. This reasoning is strongly proved/authenticated by trade transactions of my wifê?Ts friend, who has just established a large ?"scale complex of aquarium, providing miniatures of rock-garden & captive, ornamental fishes, imported from Taiwan for deluxe demand of residences at high class Ciputra buiding area and nearby areas.
    2) As estimated being the worse flood in Hanoi city & Northern provinces since the historical flood happened in 1984, recent downpour just lasted 3 days, led to great damages of not only human losses but also financial damages, especially environmental pollution is must ?"mentioned issue.
Wonders raised to local authorities of Hanoi by local people doesn?Tt lie in the prompt reaction of related organizations but reasons of why this disaster could be happened in Hanoi city, this was hardly believed, even by day ?"dreamers and humurous imagination people.
Suprisingly, loupspeakers provided abundantly at public areas, normally broadcasted daily issues or disseminated governmental policies which seemed to receive not much concerns of local people and these means of mass media shoud have worked effectively in recent flood incident but why most of them were silent on updating goings ?"on of weather information which can be vital to people living in most affected areas like Tan Mai ?"Hoang Mai district, named as ?o Oasis in middle of Hanoi city?. Numbers of casualty reported are 75 people of which 17 people living in Hanoi districts. This great losses should be reviewed cautiously with the governmental management and implementation of urban development insufficient with drainage system. As extracted in Hanoi newspaper, grand total of lakes in Hanoi before 1954 - period of France occupation, having drainage function can be up to 200 lakes. The rapid development of construction buidings, expanding/enlarging new road ways of which many has been built on the foundation/site of above -mentioned lakes, especially situation of filling lakes for resettlement areas. This helps remarkably decreasing quantity of municipal lakes. As researched/studied by irrigational experts, numbers of remaining lakes in Hanoi can be used as drainage system are 17 lakes and just 01 left pumping station ?" Yen So. How to face with such fierce deluge by above -mentioned numbers of lakes and pumping station?
What is the consequences ? The answer is obvious to all. ?oWe get what we pay for? or ?owhat you lose on the swing, you get another on the roundabout ?o.
Besides direct consequences caused by this deluge, one of the big lessons we can draw is property and medial/health insurance ?" highly awared by local people in many other countries but receive no attention at all by Vietnamese people. Incident of vehicles, definitely given out in this disaster is cars, motorbikes, deeply flooded in basements of many high ?"rise buildings and new urban areas. It is estimated that amount of insurance, compensating for damaged vehicles could be up to 300 billions VND.

    5. I have to do this exercise then send it to Mr Vui because he pushed me to do that. He said that if students didn?Tt do exercises at home, he would force us to leave his English class and I don?Tt like this.
    6. This is not for the first time I apply for an English class, but neither of teachers taught me has particular unusual method as Mr Vui. A big shortcoming of many teachers are too concentrative to grammer, only Mr Vui notices words.
    7. From now to next June, I have to manage to reach 6.5 Ielts, if not I will lose sight of opportunity go abroad. It is so difficult for me but I hope I will pass that exam with new method of Mr Vui.
    8. These days, Wall street market is falling to the bottom of financial crisis. There are many reasons for that but one of the most important reason is the bad management of government.
