" SADNESS AND HAPPINESS."
I s sadness a good or bad thing? I find myself burst out laughing upon reading this seemingly silly question. Yet, on second thought, I get startled. sadness has helped me appriciate happiness for many instances. Let''''s put sadness and happiness together and look at them from your angle and experiences. " We all feel sad sometimes. Sadness is a normal emotion that can make life more interesting. Much art and poetry is inspired by sadness and melancholy. Sadness almost always accompanies loss. When we say goodbye to a loved one we usually feel sad. The sadness is even deeper if a close relationship has ended or a loved one has died.
Sadness alsohelps us appreciate happiness. When our mood eventually changes from sadness toward happiness the sense of contrast adds to the enjoyment of the mood.
Here are some ways toexperience normal sadness in a healthy way and to allow this emotion to enrich your life:
Allow yourself tobe sad. Denyingsuch feelings may force them underground, where they can domoredamage with time. Cry if you feel like it. Notice if you feel relief after the tears stop.
If you are feeling sad, plan a sadness day.Plan a day or evening just to be alone, listen tomelancholy music, and toobserve your thoughts and feelings.
Planning time tobe unhappy can be actually feel good. It can help you ultimately move into a more happy mood.
Think about the context of the sad feelings. Are theyrelated to a loss or an unhappy event? It''''s usually not as simple as discovering the "cause" of the sadness, but it may be possible to understand factors involved.
Sadness can result from a change that you didn''''t expect, or it can signal the need for a change in your life.Change is usually stressful, but it is necessary for growth.
Know when sadness turns into depression. Get help if this happens rather than getting stuck in it.
Get help ifyou experience more than a couple of the following symptoms of depression:
Persistent sad, anxious, or "empty" mood
Feelings of hopelessness, pessimism
Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness

Sau khi nghe bản nhạc " Singapura " , pà con bị choáng bởi Singlish chưa ? . Ngoài ra còn tiếng Anh giọng Phi , tiếng Anh giọng Ấn Độ nghe cũng không kém " thúi lổ tai " .
Theo cảm nhận của tui , tiếng Anh giọng Mỹ hợp khẩu vị của giọng người Saigon nhất . Pà con nào thích luyện giọng Mỹ có thể nghe 2 phóng viên Anh ngữ là Louisa Huynh và Le Vi trên VTV4 tại vtc.com .

leg tied và hand tied, đúng là trong tiếng anh có hai từ này. hand tied flowers, hand tied hair, bó bằng tay, cột bằng tay
leg tied cực kì hiếm sử dụng như tính từ, google chỉ thấy : leg tied jump là trường hợp duy nhất. Dĩ nhiên từ điển không có hai từ hand tied và leg tied. Tuy nhiên có từ tongue tied ( cứng họng).
Trong tiếng viẹt từ bó tay trên diển đàn có bạn dịch hand tied and leg tied. Mình thấy cũng sáng tạo mà đồng thời thấy cũng bó tay. Không biết là từ bó tay có trong tự điển tiếng việt khong nhỉ?

5 years ago, while surfing the net, I came across an interesting website, kind of auntie''s pages.Since then I have nurtured the idea of making an English reference book based on the stuff from that website. However, because of this and that reason, the idea has not been realised. Today, it springs back, strong and fresh as ever. That''s why I get online and post this entry.
The first letter:
DEAR ABBY: I am a 26-year-old, educated, professional woman. I met an attractive man of 36 at a wedding reception. We hit it off instantly -- danced together, joked, laughed, etc.
We have had several casual dates since, which all seemed to go well. He invited me to a dinner dance at his country club. After removing my wrap, he noticed a small tattoo on my shoulder and made a rude comment. Abby, he more than implied that tattoos are not acceptable in polite society and are associated with gangs, drunken sailors and other "lowlifes"! The evening did NOT go well, and I haven''t heard from him since.
How can I explain to him that tasteful, artistic tattoos are in fashion and in no way diminish one''s character? I really like him and would like to pursue a relationship. He doesn''t return my calls or my e-mails. I am heartsick and think of him daily. What''s your advice? -- LONELY IN ATLANTA
DEAR LONELY: While this "gentleman" may not like tattoos, he should be aware that they are now very common and are worn by about a third of the population, from what I''m told -- including doctors, lawyers, accountants and movie stars. My advice is to forget about a romance with him. From his perspective your relationship was only skin deep.
