    Countries already qualified for 2002 World Cup finals heading into this weekend's qualifiers:

    AFRICA (Qualifiers finished)
    Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia

    ASIA (two-three matches to play)
    Japan, South Korea (both qualify as hosts) plus two winners of respective groups.
    Winner of runners-up group play-off to play either Portugal or Republic of Ireland for place in finals in two-legged tie.

    CONCACAF (two matches to play)
    Costa Rica (qualified)
    Two from either Honduras, Mexico and United States

    SOUTH AMERICA (three matches to play)
    Argentina (qualified)
    Three automatically from Paraguay, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay and Colombia - fifth placed team play OCEANIA winners Australia for place in finals in two-legged tie.

    OCEANIA (finished)
    Australia - have to play fifth-placed South American team for place in finals in two legged-tie

    EUROPE (one match to play)

    Group One
    Russia or Slovenia for top of group. Slovenia or Yugoslavia for runners-up spot and play-off with Group Eight runners-up.

    Group Two
    Portugal or Republic of Ireland for top spot and runners-up place, the latter will play two-legged play-off with winners of Asian Zone runners-up play-off.

    Group Three
    Denmark, Bulgaria or Czech Republic for top two places. Runners-up play runners-up in Group Six (Belgium, Croatia or Scotland)

    Group Four
    Sweden (Qualified)
    Runners up: Turkey play Group Group Seven runners-up (Austria or Israel)

    Group Five
    Poland (Qualified)
    Ukraine or Belarus for runners-up spot and play-off against Group Nine runners-up (England or Germany)

    Group Six
    Belgium or Croatia to top the group. Belgium, Croatia and Scotland for runners-up spot and play-off with Group Three second-placed team (Denmark, Bulgaria or Czech Republic).

    Group Seven
    Spain (Qualified)
    Austria or Israel for runners-up spot and play-off with Group Four runners-up, Turkey.

    Group Eight
    Italy or Romania for top two spots. Runners-up play-off with Group One second-placed country, Slovenia or Yugoslavia

    Group Nine
    England or Germany for top two spots. Runners-up play Group Five runners-up, Belarus or Ukraine
    First leg play-offs to be played November 10/11 - second legs November 14/15
