· [FONT=&quot]The level, the texts and the tasks become progressively more difficult. Therefor, do the earlier Qs as quickly as possible, to give yourself more time for the difficult Qs[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]You have roughly one and a half minutes for each Qs.[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]Do not panic of you can only do maybe 3 Qs out of 7. Go through them again and again, but quickly [/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]When you finish 1 passage, check your Ans and try to fill any gaps.[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]The Qs generally follow the order of the information in the text. However, the qs in 1 section can overlap another and they maybe jumbled[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]The Qs are usually paraphrases of the text o look for the meaning in the text not the exact words.[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Techniques to increase your speed:[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Learn to use the following techiniques separatley to swicth automatically and to use several at one time[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]Skimming, skim the text to obtain general information. Think about the general information and not the detail. Don’t underline.[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]Scanning: scan for speciic detail only, don’t concentrate on the meaning of the text.if you start to read, or even to skim, you will find it more difficult to locate your words.[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]Skim and read: skim a text, and stop at particular points to look at the meaning. Use the questions to guide you around the text.[/FONT]
· [FONT=&quot]Scan and skim: when you scan a text for a specific word, your eyes touches the other information lightly. Because your focus is on the scanning, your eye skims the text naturally and doesn’t slow you down. You need to practise to build your confidence.[/FONT]
