Topic 87: Some people think that teachers should be responsible for teaching students to judge right and wrong and to behave well. Some say that teachers should only teach students about academic subjects. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

It is a widespread practice that teachers should advise students about good or bad things and to behave to them, on the other hand, it is necessary part for teaching students about academic subjects of methods and materials of their knowledge. To the best of my knowledge, nowadays, the best education is techer can combine two elements: wisdom and morality to improve their moral values.

The first justification is that without being aware of the distinction between acceptable and accusable behaviours, teen-age can become delinquents and theif and criminals. They can learned at school where teachers should recommend good judgement. For instance, young people who are not taught right or wrong and to behave well or leaved in a violent social and so many crime are becoming worrying problems. So that, teachers should advise young generation what is the right thing to do and go to the best and good way of their life. In ad***ion, teachers might focus on the root cause of their problems, such as their childhood or family violence.

Another point to note is that teachers should teach students about cognition of the world through social interactions. It is not only bring to students about the knowledge, but also respond and act in different social situations. When children and young generation have been taught very careful wisdom and moral principles, they can also shape the behavior pattern of individual citizens.

From what has been discussed, it is clear that teachers should advise and teach students to develop their good behavior and wide wisdom. All contributing to students’ individual life fulfillment and well-being in social.

Topic 98: The computer is widely used in education and some people think that teachers will not play important roles in the classroom. To what extent do you agree?

There is a recent debate whether the presence of computers in the classroom has been associated with the changing role of teachers in education. Some hold a fear that more and more computers worldwide will replace tra***ional teachers in future. However, it appears clear to me that only by support of teachers can learners cultivate as much necessary knowledge and skills as possible.

Opponents argue that computer-based teaching allow students to save money, study time and even reduce pressure of face-to-face communication with the teacher in class. It is undeniable that with a click, learners not only create and manage their own curriculum but also access all lectures with their excitement, which hardly can occur in class with strict teachers. On the other hand, I am of an opinion that rarely do students learn and complete homework requirements themselves with their best effort if there is no close supervision and encouragement by teachers. Moreover, thanks to being trained professionally and having a pedagogic method, teachers are able to design and deliver appropriate approaches which cater specific need of various learning groups. In ad***ion, it is teachers but computers who can rephrase lesson topics and provide persuasive and inspiring answers from students through private tutoring sessions and who also drive them to shape a good manner. On the whole, a computer hardly functions as effectively as a human teacher does.

It is also argued that with support of the internet, computerized teachers provide a huge amount of knowledge in terms of both theories and case studies. It is obvious that nowhere are e-books and online teaching programs offered widely than in virtual class, which enable students to grasp their major quickly at anytime. However, from my own perspective, such much information is there that they not only suffer confusion about whether the source is certified but also they have difficulty in discovering what is necessary to their study. Therefore, the presence of teachers with prepared lectures in each acknowledged curriculum will be reliable. Moreover, with such tremendous resources from the internet, teachers can instruct their students to select and read valuable materials before attending class so that they focus on training specific skills for students. In particular, it is the dynamic learning environment with teachers where students can discuss and communicate with each other, then develop crucial thinking, time management, teamwork and leadership useful for their future career. In other word, teachers will be needed in the classroom to orient and guide students.

In conclusion, although more and more distance learning programs via computers is applied in education the role of teachers in class is constantly important. It is clear that the computer should act as a supplement to teachers and aid them in instructing their students.

Topic 91: Some people argue that history is of little or no use to us. Others believe that studying history gives many benefits. Discuss those views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, students tents to take concentration on some subjects which are their major in the future. Therefore some people believed that studying history is meaningless. However, I believe that there are many facts to show the importance of history as a subject.

Opponents argue that history could not bring any economic benefits and people should concentrate on other subjects like mathematics, physics and chemistry. It is undeniable that these subjects enable students to collect much vital specialist knowledge which will help them to find well-paid jobs. Nevertheless, in my opinion this activity enables us to obtain many valuable experiences for economic development. Only by understanding the experiential lessons in the past can the government establish appreciate policies to improve our economy. In ad***ion, by doing this our leaders can deal with problems such as final crisis effectively and can avoid negative effects on nation strategy. Furthermore, thanks to understanding economic trends in the past companies could give the birth of crucial products. Had it not been for knowledge of technical pattern in the past Apple, one of the biggest hi-tech companies all over the world would have never reached successes with flying colors.

It is also argued that learning history will not bring any practical benefits for student in their curriculum. Not only have it not a direct application on all most of fields but it also is not compulsory in many university where high-school students will student to collect crucial knowledge and skills before participating a job. However, the truth is that rarely can people serve for their country without realizing of own nation’s history. Another benefit of researching history is that it helps children cultivate many vital skills such as teamwork, leadership and crucial thinking. Apart from that, only by understanding the past can children know how their ancestors worked together to prevent from disaster and enemies and what sources of today life are. Thanks to this they will be taught valuable lessons.

In conclusion, although it is not main target in the most schools and its applications in today's society are not known with certainty but studying history but history plays and important role in the development of economy and conservation of cultural heritage. Therefore the government should encourage residents to be aware of history through national anniversaries.

Topic 64: Discuss the arguments for and against raising pets.
In many parts of the world, pets are friends of many families for thousands of years. So many people believe that these animals play an important role during their lifetime. Meanwhile, others are of the opinion that raising pets is unnecessary and even a waste of both time and money. My essay will analyze both sides of the issue.

Many hold the idea that raising pets is wasting a lot of money which can be used for charity programs to assist the unprivileged. It is clear that no sooner than the appearance of cute pets in house should owners spent a large amount of budget to feed and care for them. In ad***ion, pets such as dogs, cats cause them even their neighbors to have troubles when these dear animals pee everywhere. However, the opposite opinion is that behind the burden of finance and care are enormous benefits. Not only can family members erase stress after a long work day and then improve their performance for the next task but the government also is less worried about those abandoned animals when no one is responsible for their lives. Another benefit of this is that pets comfort our soul in our twilight years when our children are busy with their own lives and live far away us.

It is also claimed that raising pets can have a negative influence on lifestyles of masters. It is undeniable that people who consumes so much time on playing with their lovely pets must change their schedule every day. Even worse, pets can lead to conflict among people, who live under one roof and have different preferences about how to care for these animals. Nevertheless, I am of the opinion that only by contacting with pets, can owners have opportunities to collect many valuable experience lessons. In fact, thanks to raising pets, children will be taught the lesson of responsibility at their early age and find it easier to take care of their would-be younger brothers and sisters. Furthermore, pets are our body guards whose barks keep scaring burglars and discourage them from breaking into our house illegally.

In conclusion, it is difficult for some people who do not have hobbies of care pets. Therefore, they can suffer from many unwanted troubles with pets. On the other hand close friendship with animals helps people obtain a loving home and a happy life

Well to be honest, in general I would say that I am really keen on my mobile phone. As you know, it has a big application in our modern life, even I can claim that it has changed our civilization. It is used for almost fields, from education, media to industry or simply in anywhere, anytime. With me, mobile phone plays an important role in whole my life. I could update information from places which is far away me hundreds of miles or more over, I could see and talk to my mother when I study oversea, etc. I suppose the main reason why I advocate mobile phone becomes most crucial piece technology in our life because the way that changes the society. Indeed, since the appearance of it, people innovate the way to communicate and work each other. You needn’t to move from outside your office to meet your customers or friends, and of course, information is immediately transferred whenever you want. Yep, I guess if I explain more, it will be too long, so, my answer ends here.

The line graph illustrates the trends in joining in certain outdoor sports of the young people between 1975 and present day. Generally, there has been a plunge in some sports over the previous 30 years.
During the period, the level of participation in ball games has been the most striking dive - it has been almost 15%, from 34% to 20%. This statistic has also occurred with the percentage of people who play biking and roller skating, with the slide by 9%. Although there was a slowly climb in 1990, it seemed to be negligible.
In the case of jogging and running, the percentage of the participants has been slightly erratic - from 7% in 1975, jumping to 13% in 1980, falling to 9% in 1995 and then moving gradually upward 15% in the present day.
Meanwhile, the percentage of swimmers has gone up time to time. During 1975 to 1980 there has been flat, but up to now it has risen steadily about 3% per year. The most notable period is in recent, it has skyrocketed to 11%. Which means it is the most popular outdoor sport now.

The pie chart below provides the percentage of cars which have in each family in United Kingdom, as given by the 2004 census. Furthermore, this statistic showed the number of cars owned in a household is zero, one, two or more vehicles.
First of all, the percentage of households had an automobile containing nearly half about 45 percent. It is obvious that the number of families did not own car account for at least 26 percent. In ad***ion, a slightly more proportion of household used more than 1 car about 29 percent. Therefore, most households had one cars to use as a means of communication. Finally, we can see the property of car in the family was common in United Kingdom, and it was just under three-quarters of households.
All reliable evidences point to one saying, the popularity of the family used the car as a means for individuals in the UK.
