Others believe that this is a waste of money, and that the focus should be on providing and effective infrastructure and efficient services.
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Along with the development of the society, the population is growing rapidly, some people think that city authorities is responsible for providing cultural attractions for them. However, others believe that this is a waste of money and we should focus on infrastructure and services. From my own perspective, both above views have advantages and disadvantages.

The first point that can be seen by every person is that they want to have cultural attractions such as museums and art galleries. Over time, they became a multi-cultural institutions, play a major role in contemporary life. They are exhibited valid art works. These places provide more information, knowledge about history and culture of our country for all people. They actively create con***ions for student can come to learning and researching. In ad***ion, it also attracts many customers to visit and relax. Therefore, it is the duty of city authorities to build cultural attractions.

The second thing that must be taken into consideration is the waste of money for cultural attractions, instead of the focus should be on providing effective infrastructure and services. According to the recent statistics of vnexpress.net, one of the most reliable websites in Vietnam, within 20 years, the number of museums in the world has doubled, from 30000 to 60000 museums. They are built too much with duplicate content, so spend money a lot. Moreover, many infrastructure and service in our country are underdeveloped, so they should be invested more effectively by the local organizations.

From what has been discussed above, I think the correct attitude is that city authorities should build cultural attractions with reasonable amount of money. Besides, the infrastructure and service need to focus more efficiently. It is really necessary for people's life.

Topic : Does art give our lives meaning and purpose or is it merely a distraction from real life? How do you feel about this?

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} Nowadays art has become an essential part of our lives. Alongside with the development of human society, there have been various forms of art appearing to meet people’s needs. It can be seen that art is making our lives more meaningful. However, some would argue that it should simply be a relaxation in the life. There are many arguments for and against this idea and I will also state my viewpoint on this essay.

There is an idea which insists that the fundamental purpose of art is utterly to help people relax and feel comfortable in a busy life. Actually, everything has both a good side and a bad side and this is also no exception. However, it is not quite wrong but is only a viewpoint on one side of the issue. It is the fact that many of us often consider forms of art a method to relax and reduce stress after hard-working hours and in the spare time. Nevertheless, this is one of the advantages of art but it is a big mistake if we say that art is simply like a tool of entertainment. Moreover, it brings us such more useful and interesting things than we have thought.

If someone says that art makes the life better and more colorful and more interesting, he actually understands exactly what it is. It is not coincident that art was born in the first civilizations of humanity and has continued existing and developing by now. No one can deny the noticeable contribution of art for people. Not only making the life more abundant, it also participates in growing human’s characteristics and morality and manner of life positively. The beautiful society we are living in today is partly because of the massive shares of art.

In my opinion, art is playing a very important role in our lives. I highly agree with the idea that art has brought us meaning and purpose. Imagine how our lives will be if art has not ever existed. That may be a boring world with lots of mental problems and block gray houses and buildings, square pointed gray cars, buses, etc., no music, no design anywhere, and no color. We cannot live in a place like that.

In short, I hold the idea that our lives are more meaningful and interesting thanks to the benefits brought by art. We consecrate the achievements that art has contributed to humanity.

As cities grow even larger, con***ions for civil cities are likely to get worse. This will lead to several very serious problems. Three of most critical key problems are increasing pollution, global warming, and worsening social con***ions.
Firstly, pollution is abundant in cities due to dangerous gases being released into the atmosphere and toxic effluents being dumped daily into streams and rivers. These cause significant pollution of air and water. This is the result of billions of selfish decisions made by millions of uncaring individuals. I do strongly support the idea that the governments must have policy to punish violate personal or organization.
Secondly, cutting down of trees and forests to make way causes floods to occur, animals to become extinct, and temperatures to rise. Ironically, the participation and support of governments and corporations in the name of development is like adding salt to the wound. From my own perspective, if we can reduce the greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere, we probably can slow the rate of global warming and climate. As global warming alters habitats, many kinds of animals will be on the move, but all sorts of barriers will stand between them and a new place to live. To help animals get around these barriers, it might be necessary to set up migration corridors that connect natural areas with one another.
Finally, having to leave homes for education and/or work in cities is tearing apart family relationships. Gone are the tra***ional family values like filial piety and closeness of blood relations. Such great increases in the urban population numbers lead to related problems like insufficient homes, lack of schools and poor health and sewerage facilities.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that there must be some proactive programs which the governments plan for these problems.

Nowaday, urbanization speed has skyrocketed all over the world. Therefore, cities grow and larger, con***ions of dwellers are likely to get worse.Along with the expansion of urban areas, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which are population issue, environment and society welfare.

According to a report from BBCNEWS-one of the most famous e-newspaper in the world, the world has experienced urbanization but the huge rise in number of people making their homes in towns and cities is a recent phenomenon. The United Nations estimates that about 180.000 people are being added to the urban population everyday. The world’s biggest cities is Tokyo, has expanded from 13 million residents in 1950, to today's figure of 35 millions. It is clear that cities in the developing world are growing too fast for governments to keep up. Based on the above issue, almost countries are seeking solutions to absord inhabitants as improve the quality of life, focus on jobs in countryside to help people are better off so that they do not need to move to cities.

It might also be noted that environment pollution are becoming serious and facing humanity.WHO says 3 million people a year are killed by ourdoor air pollution and each year 2.1 million people die from diarrhoeal diseases associated with poor water.Mexico,Los angeles are examples in 10 dirtest cities in the world.Interm of this issues asking almost from people behaviours to protect environment also protect their life.On the other hand, government should give a strict legal system about this problem in order to improving citizens’knowledge contribute to keep our life clean.

The last but not least is society welfare, with the developing of cities, citizens have advantages to catch education, culture and entertainment easily. However ,that can not deny that everything has more than one face, beside positive things,in the dark side of cities, there are many people who live in slums,UN estimated that the number of people living in slums will double to two billion by 2030 if urgent action is not taken. People move to the cities not because they will be better off but because they expect to be better off. They receive low salary, work hard and have a bad life, generation between the rich and the poor are increasing day by day.It requests government to solves problem, builds up society welfare programme to save their life and make a stable development of cities.

From what have been analysed,we can see that:those issue of urban areas in the 21st century are global problems and asking everyone to deal with them.

Đinh Minh Trang E53 Writing task 2. What are the key problems facing the world’s cities in the 21st century, and what can be done about them?

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are bought to our attention, one of which is that nowadays, when almost half the world’s population live in urban areas, con***ions for city dweller are likely to get worse, that causes many problems. Some of the matter is the slums, the pollution and the drug abuse.
According to http://www.citymayors.com, the growth of slums in the last 15 years has been unprecedented. By 2000, the slum population had increased to 912 million and to approximately 998 million today. On the contrary, inequalities between the rich and the poor in many cities have grown, as have the size and proportion of slum populations. From my own perspective , the government have managed to prevent slums from growing and even reduced them through good housing and employment policies.
The second thing that must be taken into consideration is the pollution. The facts tell that three-quarters of the carbon dioxide in the world, which is the biggest greenhouse gas, is emitted by cities. The city dwellers consume inordinate amounts of energy and materials and are thus parasitical by nature. One of these solutions is recycling which means the conversion of waste to reusable material and using the large quantities of waste material and saving energy are the main reasons for applying recycling.
Finally, the drug abuse seems to be one of the most difficult problem people have to face in the modern world. Young people have been using drug more widely than ever before, which is a major kindrance to the development of society. I do strongly support the idea that prevention is better than cure. This adage holds good in fighting drug abuse too. Public education campaigns and stricter laws regarding purchase and use of legal substances are measures that have been adopted by states. Many people have created coalitions of community and business leaders to address the problem of substance abuse. These groups run community-based programs that provide mentoring, tutoring, alternative activities, and life skills development for youth in drug-impacted neighborhoods.
From what has been discussed, one can reach only this conclusion: People should be aware of the growing sense of urgency of the challenge ahead and they are likely to meet in an urban world

c Thuỳ ui ! cho em nộp bài writing task 2 vơí ah What are the key problems facing the word’s cities in the 21st century, and what can be done about them?
Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, typical two of which are that: the rapid jump of population and severity of the crime.
According to statics in 2011, population in the world has been skyrocketed. It is the result of better improving life living quality than in the past. Thank to this, the life has been lengthened. In ad***ion, better life con***ion makes more demanding having children to let the families be happier. Moreover, the number of people who died in the war, the riot …has collapsed for recent years. Hence, the population density in the world is more crowded. Consequently, the economic growth is not as fast as the population speed, it causes an imbalance. The living con***ion like: houses, hospital, school… is not enough so that the overload is always happen. The solution for this event that: the first, every nation in the world has a signed general law that: each family should only have one or two children. The second, the authorities have to try to have suitable policy to control and balance population between urban and country. The third, services and infrastructure should be paid attention and coordinated to cooperate between government and citizen
There is another factor that deserves some words here the increasing both the perilous delinquent level and the number of crimes year after year. The more the development modernization of technology is, the more cunning level do crimes have. Besides, the economic growth doesn’t speed as fast as the rapid jump of population, especially, after economic crisis in 2008, the unemployment has increased. Meanwhile the competition to find a new job is very difficult. Because of the life pressure, many people who acted rashly, go in the criminal road. On the other hand, some of the adolescence who has abandoned style; keeps up with the Joneses; has limited awareness, the lax management of their parents; and spend money excessively; are easy to become crime. For instance, every day, in the media, the newspaper, the internet, there is so many robberies, murder…. For recent, in Vietnam, the Le Van Luyen who is a seventeen year old boy, has just rubbed a gold store and killed five people. Facing to the perilous delinquent event, the controlling of the government is very necessary. The authorities should promulgate strict law to be a deterrent. Furthermore, the policy which help the citizen find the job easily and improve the living standard is very important. Moreover the cooperation education between the family and the school should be taken care and let the children have the awareness about what is right, is wrong ,; what should do or not.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that: there are so hot and popular problems which only can solve by the combination the government and self - citizens

What are the key problems facing the world’s cities in the 21st century and what can be done about them?

With the advance of the human civilization, there are an increasing number of people who have raised doubts about whether environmental pollution, population growth or social issue. These typical three problems are the significant ones that most of the cities in the world have to deal with in the 21st century. It is essential that people should recognize the current situations and effects in order to seek for some solutions to make the world more beautiful and peaceful.

We cannot forget a universal truth that our environment is getting more and more polluted, particularly in developing cities. Along with rapid increase in the economy, qualities of human life and animal habitats are going down considerably due to the accumulation of rubbish or factories’ chemical emission. Consequently, this would cause different diseases and resources depletion. Therefore, the Governments ought to promulgate new environmental laws, encouraging citizens to use renewable or green energy to reduce the amount of emission as much as possible.

Another issue that is also worth noticing is population growth. Developing and undeveloped cities usually have higher ratio than the average world’s rate, which may influence governent budgets and qualities of life. In fact, according to The Economist online, the global population will have reached 7 billion by the end of October 2011 and is expected to increase about 40% by 2085. In order to control the numbers of citizens in each city, the authorities have applied many effective methods, such as propagating family planning, controlling migration, improving living standards.

A further more subtle point that must be taken into consideration is social issue. There are an alarming amount of robbery, drug, assault and violence raising steeply day by day. For example, Bogota in Colombia is ranked as the most dangerous city in the world with 72% of the inhabitants became victims of violence in 2010. Those crimes may not only detrimentally affect the performaces of children, but also make the society more and more unbalanced. Dealing with this problem, the policies need carrying out strictly for every criminals without exception, education must be enhanced and received more attention to avoid children’s negative behaviour.

From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that cities around the world now have to deal with many urgent problems, especially environmental pollution, population growth and social issue. As a result, the effects are extremely serious, which should be solve by the combination of the Governments and self – citizens to build a more stable society.
