It is apparent from information supplied that the share prices of Coca-cola considerably fluctuated during the period of 1996-2001. Beginning at the lowest price in 1996, approximately 35$, the share price dramatically soared to nearly 70$ in 1997 and reached a peak of 80$ in 1998. However, it gradually dropped during the next two year and got the price under 50$ in 2000.
Despite of this plunge, Coca-cola sold a total of 17.1 billion unit case of fizzy drinks in 2000. It can be clearly seen that North America was the largest customer of Coca-cola, accounting for 30.4% of total volume while 25.7% and 20.5% of them was purchased by Latin America and Europe, respectively. In contrast, the distribution of these drinks in Asia, Africa and Middle East was less than other countries, only 16,4% in Asia and 7.0% in Africa and Middle East.

Em Linh Lan E 51 nộp bài Task 2 ạ:

“Wealth does not necessarily guarantee happiness”
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is the relation between wealth and happiness. From my own perspective, I do strongly support the idea that wealth does not necessarily guarantee people’s happiness.

There are numerous reasons why I hold this opinion, and I would explore a few of most important ones here. One of the reasons that can be easily seen is that many happy families shatter after they become sucessful and rich people in society. Until that time, they realize that money can buy almost anything, such as morden cars, luxury houses but there is one thing that money cannot buy is happiness.

There is a further more subtle point we must consider is that people do not know how much money do we need to be happy. Many people always seeking for more and more money because they never feel enough with their wealth. Therefore they are not entirely happy, even they do not have enough time and mind to enjoy the conveniences that money can bring them. This reality is clearly expressed in a Russian tale written by Alexander Pushkin which is named that "The Tale of the Fisherman and the Goldenfish". The tale is about a poor fisherman who catches a golden fish which promises to make any wish of him become true if he lets it go. His wife tells him ask the fish for a new washboard, a new house, a new palace where she can become the Lord. The golden fish grants all of her requirements but the fisherman’s wife has not been satisfied yet. At the end of the tale, when the fisherman tell the fish that his wife wants to become the Ruler of the Sea, the fish withdraws everything and send them back to their poor hut.

From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that wealth is not the most important factor which determine our happiness. You can be a happy person even you are not a rich person. It is important that you should try your best and know how to be satisfied with things you get from those efforts.

em Nguyễn Linh Khang E49 nộp bài ah

Topic: These days, the wealthy in society often throw away perfectly good products in order to replace them with more up-to-date models.
Do the environmental disadvantages of this development outweigh the economic advantages?
Modernization is vital for all economies. However, the issue of that wealthy people dispose good products replaced by more update items is a controversial one. On the one hand, their purchase increases demand for goods and circulates the economy. On the other hand, throwing away useful products is both wasteful and bad for the environment. In the final analysis, I am convinced that, the environmental disadvantages of this action outweigh the economic advantages.
One reason for my belief is that there is a huge number of waste being discarded into the environment but little can be processed. Throwing away good products lasts one second but processing them last much more. At the moment, unprocessed garbage is leading to contaminate water, land and air.
Another reason is that benefits of consumption can not offset costs of cost disposal. The wealthy in society purchase up-to-date model, therefore, demand for goods will increase, good will be circulated and suppliers have more earnings. However, the fact that good products are discarded leads to waste the budget for solving garbage. The government has to employ workers, spends billions of dollars on building system for waste treatment.
Perhaps my most important reason is that it is wiser for wealthy people to present products which are still good but unnecessary for them to poor people because the poor have no money to buy good products although they are useful and important. A good but unfashionable coat can help the poor to keep warm in winter.
For all these reasons, I firmly believe that the wealthy should consider carefully before throwing away perfectly good products so that economic advantages can be equal to environmental disadvantages.

Đinh Minh Trang E53 - Writing task 1

The bar chart depicted the CO2 emissions per passenger kilometre for different means of conveyance in the European Union. It is ivident that flying by air products by far the greatest CO2 emissions which is over 380 grams of CO2 emissions. The number of CO2 emissions of air approximately three times as much as passenger cars which are the next largest rate. Trains produce about eight times less than air travel.

Besides, the pie chart compares a amount of money which European Union disbursed on transportation. It can be clearly seen that over a half of the EU transport budget is spent for Roads. The second high of the proprotion is the Railways with around 31 percent. In addtion, the Public transport is considerably less than Roads and Railways, about 10 percen. However, only 4 percent were invested to four other form of transport, such as Intermodal, Inland waterway, Ports and Airports. In particular, only 2 percent of European Union funds are spent on ports. A further one percent is used on inland waterways.

This ends my report here.

Many governments state that they value equal opportunities for all but do not provide adequate support for disabled.
Discuss this view and give your own opinion.
Along with the development of a society more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that many policies of governments. To be more precise, many governments give fair opportunities for every people no exception disabled people. The policy is very interesting; however it has many drawbacks for people disabilities. This essay will discuss about this view.
Disabled people face many barriers which make them difficult to integration into the community. The first thing can be seen by everyone is that they will get less educated opportunities, if governments create similar opportunities for all of people in society. In fact, governments practice some policies to universalize education for everybody, but they are unsuitable for people disabilities. In ad***ion, they are lacked education because they need more special con***ions such as books for blinds or teacher for deal mute.
The second thing that must be taken into consideration is that if occupation opportunities are equal for all, they will be difficult to have a job. Obviously, jobs for disabled people are hot issues with the community because many companies are not receiving disabled people into work. Truly, the main reason is that disabled people do not have abilities to work look like non-disabled, moreover they need a special con***ion and suitable jobs. With the con***ion, the disabled people have a lower quality of life than non-disabled people, so they hope governments create more suitable jobs for them to earn money.
The third thing that has to give is that public transport system. There is difficult for disabled people use public transport because it is uncommon for them. For example, people use wheelchairs, so they can not take or go up buses. According a prestigious newspaper, each ten people have one disabled in the world. Governments should have some public transports which severs them.
In my perspective, the policy of governments is equal opportunities which people have the same changes in life, without unfair way in gender, religion or age are very progressive. It has advances for almost people but less fair for disabled because it does not suit for disabled who need more adequate supports from both governments and community.
