Do young people today make good use of their leisure time? Or do they spend too much time watching television and playing video games, instead of taking part in more productive activities?
Give reason for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Along with the development of a society, more and more problems are brought to our attention, one of which is that using free time of young people. To be more precise, there is suggestion saying that they create great plans for their free time while others claim that they waste much time on non productive activities. In my perspective, the way of spending youth’s spare time is both of life style above because it depends on each individual.
Indeed, those in favour of youth spend their time usefully above obviously have there our reasons. The first reason that can be seen by everyone is that they attend more social activities such as charities or voluntary organizations. According to a survey of the Student Council Organized Vietnam, the number of young people who join Green Summer Campaign like as volunteers to help underprivileged family in poor urban is rocketing gradually year by year. The second reason that must be taken into consideration is that a huge amount of young member who take part in sport clubs is jumping recently. In fact, spending spare time on sport clubs make them to protect their health or retain fitness. Finally, youngsters have a great plan for their free time lately which is find a part time job to earn pocket-money. For instance, youth usually work for restaurants, shops or supermarkets like as waiter, waitress or cashier.
From the other side, youngsters have not good approaches for their spare time. One further matter of concern is that they waste a lot of time on playing game. In fact, according a favourite Vietnamese newspaper, many adolescents spend eight hours to play many kind of game online recently. Moreover, youngsters are often attracted by many entertainment programme on the television such as HBO, Disney Channel or Star Movies which lead to increase number of young viewers. In fact, youth stay at home to relax by watching television or playing games which cause of some diseases. Especially, a part of young people lack outdoor activities at present, so they do not obtain social skills as well as communicated abilities.
On the whole, there is no denying the fact that youth today have both positive way and negative way for using spare time. As a result, it is not easy to decide which young people today have a positive way to spend spare time is more outweigh than other. My belief is that youth nowadays use free time to depend on aware of each individual.

Chị ơi, Em Phạm Hạnh E53 nộp writting task 2 : Do you think young people...?
. Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought into our attention, typical one of which is young people’s use of leisure time. Arcording to recent studies, the number of overweight young people has went up dramatically. Personnally I believe that nowdays, children spend much more time watching television and playing video games than joining in outside activities.
The growing technology widens choices for children to use their free time such as watching telly, playing games, accessing on the internet with a computer…However, it also cause the laziness of young people. They can sit in front of televison during hours with snacks as chips, hambergurs, cola…enjoying their favourite programmes. Plus, they can also play video games a lot of time without meal. Therefore, it is not surprised that many young people are called couch potatoes or some of them are too thin like drought trees. In ad***ion, their eyes are often got troubles because of looking at screen so long. They are captivitated by charaters in video games more than lovind playing with their friends in person.
It is important to noted that parents and teachers should encourage their children on taking part in productive activities, for example : go camping, playing sports as footbal or swimming… These activities help young people be not only better in communication with others but also more confident in themselves. Another benefit from getting outside activities, children will grow healthily and get fit. The facts that should not be forgot is watching violent movies or programmes triggers off uncontroled ferociousness of children. They behave rule with both members of their family and their friends. Hence, giving young people advices about way of using leisure time is responsibility of both school and family.
Once you have known all of these, you must agree with me that young people are less active than they did ever due to depending so much on telly or games. This has sparked many debates about solving this problem. Alternatively, we should let them take part in productive activities and limit their time in front of screens.

Do young people today make good use of their leisure time? Or do they spend too much time watching television and playing video game, instead of taking part in more productive activities?

Nowadays, technology increases rapidly which help people feel more and more convenient because of their useful applications for people’lives. It leads to more free time for people. However, recently, the phenomenon has aroused wide concern. Some people are in alarm that people especially youth do not take advantages of their free time well. They are stuck on virtual world with a wide range of modern hi-tech products such as: televison, video game,… instead of real life.
But it does not just stop at personal preference that have become a society’ problem. Press and other media report daily on statistic of the rate of obesity or juvinile crime,… and the main reason leads to them is watching to much TV and play video game. These activities force people sit on their chairs for a long time which make them become a coach potato sooner or later. It is definitely not good for health even can make people suffer from depression or autism. In ad***ion to, teenagers can learn the violence and bad things from these methods faster than they learn subjects from teacher at school. Thus, sometimes they crime merely by imitating but not aware of the hazards of their actions.
Why TV and video game take an important part in young people lives so easy? The reason may be some teenager which are not enough confident find it comfortable when they do not meet everyone in person. So they chose to seal their selves in the home and enjoy the fun with TV programs or video game. Other people find it more easily when they contact with others within digital world of game online. It is the place where they feel more confident and they prove themselves through the game but in contrast they only become loose control. Therefore, they do not care about what happens in real world and all of other helpful community activities.
This trend now is more and more popular in young people. And it becomes a threat to society. There is a fact that these syndromes are very difficult to treat. It is not only the concern of parents and teachers but also the attention of society especially their friends.

Do young people today make good use of their leisure time? Or do they spend too much time watching television and playing video games, instead of taking part in more productive activities?

Along with the development of society, more and more problems are brought into our attention, typical one of which is the way young people use their spare time.
There are many ways how to spend our free time wisely and how to make the most of it. As we know, young people today have not used their leisure time efficiently because most their activities during free time did not give any benefit for them. They spend too much time on watching television, playing video games, loitering at mall and smocking instead of taking part in more productive activities such as involve in sport activities, join the clubs, do exercise and so forth. According to many research published by scientists: watching TV for 3 hours a day has high level of psychological distress, as well as leading adolescent to some troubles with obesity and heart diseases. Furthermore, it can be easy to see that our young generation will lack the communication skills and the ability to interact with others if they still sit in front of screens day by day.
It might also be noted that parents and teachers should lift young people’s spirit in taking part in productive activities such as: playing sport, going camping, involving in instrument or foreign language classes... These activities can lead our adolescents to be more confident and better in communication with others. In ad***ion to these, spending spare time on sport clubs make them to be healthy and good in shape. Besides, they can spend time to take care of their loved ones, to take part in charity so as to help the misery people. Certainly, these are the great ways to make good use of their leisure time.
From what has been discussed above, we may finally draw the conclusion that it is better for our society to decide more wisely, we all know that bad impacts of television and video games on adolescent’s health and make them to have solitary activities which inhibit social development. To be realistic, parents can teach young people how to use their spare time efficiently as well as provide high quality of other activities; we can save our young generation from heart diseases and other premature problems that may happen for them in future.

Many young people who are clever but do not know how to make good use of their leisure time. Moreover, they spend most of time watching television and playing video games, istead of participating in more productive activities. There are several reasons for this problem.

Firstly, thanks for the high technology nowadays, the children have big chances to use televisions, computers and internet. They are also too small to aware about the disadvantages of these modern products without their parent' supervision. Most of them are affected by internet as well as computer games with many interesting programmes. Scientists also know how to attract children by these products. As a result, the children are the potential clients of modern products.

Furthermore, children do not have enough experience to distinguish what kind of activities are more productive than watching televisions or playing computer games. As a consequence, they concentrate on these attracted products such as internet, televisions and computers. Some recent surveys said that the intelligent children have tend to discover more high technology programmes than others. With the same time fund as the other children, they have limited opportunities to take part in the productive activities such as reading books, playing with friends, going out with their parents, taking care the elders... If they have time out of their home, many new friends will be made as well as information will be updated. Moreover, they will have good relationship with their relatives and their friends. As a result, they will be easier to deal with problems or difficulties in their lives. But almost children do not know these benefits they might gain from these activities.

Especially with young people who have little experience as well as are easily influenced by moderned technology products. The solution is that parents and teachers must explain to them about the way to manage time and also control the children when they use their leisure time in order to gain much benefits.
