Overall, the amount passengers on both three systems increased, but London Underground’s increased significantly. Over the year 1950 to early 1980s, the number of people who traveled by National rail network and London Underground downwardly fluctuated from over 1,000 to around 600 and over 700 to nearly 500 respectively. By contrast, Light rail & metro systems not only started at a very low figure but also experienced a slight decrease in the amount of their passengers to even zero in 1980. Since then, there were upward trends for all of them of varying degrees. While the figure for Light rail & metro systems slightly rose to approximately 200 by the end of the period, the amount of passengers for both National rail network and London Underground recovered then climbed significantly to about 1,100 and almost 100 respectively.
It is noticeable that at the end of the period, National rail network recovered their first popular position, whereas, Light rail & metro systems still had fewest passengers over time.

Topic 29: People think that old buildings should be knocked down and give way to the new buildings. Do you agree or disagree? How important are old buildings to us?

With the advance of the human civilization, there are an increasing number of people who have raised doubts about whether the old buildings should be deconstructed to build the new buildings or maintained. Nowadays, people tend to think that old and historic buildings are not necessary anymore, they are just a waste of money and time to repair and maintain them. Instead, it is really helpful to build new buildings which have more functions such as supermarket, block of flats, center for entertainment and so on. On the other hands, some people find the great value and the importance of historic and old buildings to us.

There is no denying that old buildings show us how people lived in the past so they are important part of history. Moreover, some old buildings are good to keep as reminders of the past, as long as they remind people what was right or wrong, not just that they existed. Furthermore, most people agree that, if the old buildings are unique and special, which gives character to the cities, they certainly attract tourists. This attraction can give locals something to be proud of, and a reason to live and work there. Another reason to preserve old buildings is that they are part of a country’s heritage and we identify countries by architectural system.

From what has been discussed, one can reach this conclusion some old buildings really need to be kept and preserve. However, in my opinion if the buildings are not unique and special or they are in places where something more useful to the people could be built, then it is better to knock down them.

The graph compares the number of passenger using national rail network, London underground and light rail &metro systems in Great Britain
over the period of 1950 and 2004/05. Overall, it can be clear seen that the amount passengers on both three systems increases but not continuously. In the first half of the period, there is a gradually decline of the passenger and until 1980, the trends shows a constantly increase of both three systems
Between 1950 and 1980, the number of passenger using National rail network and London underground has the similar downward trend. To be more precise, the
National rail network starts at 1000 million people in 1950 and falls back to the lowest point at 600 million people in1981. Similarly to this case, London Underground gradually decreases from 700 to 500 million people. However, at the end of the period, both of these networks experience a new movement of recovering and pass the start point. By 2004/05, figures on these systems peak at 1100 million people on National rail network and nearly 1000 million people on London Underground.
Light rail & metro systems has fewest passengers over time.
There is no people using light rail and metro systems between 1950 and 1963. After that, there is an upward trend, the figure for Light rail & metro systems slightly rise to approximately 200 in 2004/05

While the tables show the level of satisfaction of customers about shops and restaurant , the pie chart involves the satisfaction about design.
In the table about shops , it clearly seen that the number of female who are very satisfied are twice as much as the male. However the number of men satisfied are larger than women. Besides, there is a balance between the number of male and female who are dissatisfied. Furthermore some people also have no comment and this number in male is bigger than female.
In the second table, in comparison with the number of female who are very satisfied about restaurant male are less. In contrast, there are more men satisfied than women but the number of female continue to be bigger than male with the behavior of being dissatisfied and having no comment.
From the pie chart , it is obvious that the proportion of people who are satisfied occupy the majority while there are 17% of people satisfied. The rest of the pie are the people dissatisfied and having no comment ,it clearly seen the proportion of them is nearly equal.
It can be said that most of people satisfied the new shopping complex. This ends my report.

chị ơi, e Huệ E53 nộp bài task 1 - test one nhé. Sorry chị e nộp muộn vì mất mấy ngày cho đợt holiday vừa qua :)

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st1\:-*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} A glance at the graph provided reveals some striking similarities in the journeys made in Great Britain’s railway (including national rail network, London underground and light rail & metro systems) during the period from 1950 to 2004/05. It is evident that the railway saw considerable fluctuations in the number of passengers, but the data of national rail network illustrated higher trips than others.

Between 1950 and 1975, there was a constant in the journeys of London underground while the numbers of national railway network took a nosedive from over 1,000 to under 750 millions. Both of these networks varied erratically from 1976 and dropped to the lowest point in 1983, namely that national network 625millions and London underground 500 millions. Nevertheless, after sharply recovering from 1983 to nearly 1990, the figures of both networks showed a significant leap to the year 2004/05 and peaked at over 1 billion journeys on national railway network and 900 millions on London underground.

In comparison with these above networks, the data of light rail and metro systems presented the lowest users in Great Britain. Beginning at the mid of 1960, there was a slightly decline in the numbers of passengers and even dipped to zero by the year 1980. Fortunately, it gradually climbed over the latter period and reached to 200 millions in 2004/05.

Overall, it is noticeable that there will be more and more passengers using Great Britain’s railway systems in the future.

This ends my report here.
