Writing task 1:

1.1

The pie charts illustrate the proportion of food fund a household consumed in 2 categories, divided into restaurant meals and home-made meals. The graph gives the data on the number of meals that fastfood and sitdown restaurants serving their customers for 4 decades.

In 1970, compared with the majority of people cooking at home, the percentage of restaurant meals was rather small (10%). Nonetheless, the number of restaurant meals has shown a steady upward tendency for the next period. In 2000, the proportions of home-made meals and restaurant meals were both equal.

Throughout the decades, there were two upward trends on the number of meals eaten in both types of restaurants. In 1970, the frequency of meals the fastfood restaurants offering was just 20 meals per year. A similar pattern was also noted on the sitdown restaurants. By the year of 2000, more and more people spent on fastfood rather than in sitdown restaurants. The number of fasfood meals was approximately 90 meals per year whereas just 50 meals in each year was served by the sitdown restaurants.

In conclusion, to save time in modern life, people have tendency to eat fastfood meals instead of cooking at home.

1.2

The diagrams show the information about a flu epidemic that local people got in a large country town in 1996. Figure 1 gives the number of deaths caused by the disease; Figure 2 show the proportion of females who received the new flu vaccine and Figure 3 indicates the number of cases of flu during the epidemic period.

It can be seen clearly from the Figure 1 that the flu epidemic caused 2 deaths for women in the first period from March to May. Nonetheless, the number of deaths increased slightly in the next period. There were 4 female deaths and 1 male death.

Referring to the figure 2, 35% of the group most at risk taking part in the trial was over 65 year-old females. Besides, babies constitued 24% of all the recipients and 13% of those were either hospitalised or otherwise receiving medical treatment.

According to the figure 3, granted it is true that the cases of flu on females decreased noticeably after the getting the new vaccine. From March to June, the flu rates on females reached a peak at approximately 3500 cases then dipping down slightly before levelling off at around 3000 cases. The similar record on males was noted but with a lower rate.

To conclude, as the new vaccine was experimented successfully, it should be used widely to prevent the flu epidemic.


1.3

The table gives the information about the profit was made by a small restaurant in a downtown business district during the week of October 7th to 13th.

In terms of lunch meals, the average sales during the week was about $2400. The highest number of lunch meals was served by the restaurant on Wednesday and Friday ($2595 and $2500 respectively). In contrast, the income the restaurant gaining at the weekend was less than on the weekdays, just averaged at approximately $1700.

Regarding to dinner meals, the average dinner sales were $1000 to $1800 higher than lunch sales per day. There was a huge amount of money the restaurant earning on Tuesday. The dinner sales was similar to those for lunch in that it peaked at $4350 on Friday and then dipped down to $2600 at the weekend.

*****m up, this restaurant earned steadily at lunch and dinner time. As the restaurant was located in a business area, there was a high rate sales on business days, from Monday to Friday.

2.1

In recent years, as the significant improvement of human’s living standards, it is fairly straightforward for people to have better health care and be more well-educated. The issue of whether the government is responsible for health care and education has sparked controversy. In my opinion, I believe that both the government and each individual must have responsibility for health and education.

Granted it is true that an individual person in the society has the basic human right to receive a good health care. It is also a means of measure to ensure a decent standard of livings. Nowadays, there is a tendency for people to receive medical treatment at many private hospitals. Thanks to the most sufficient facilities and the best doctors, private hospitals attract a huge number of patients in spite of the more expensive costs. Nonetheless, there are still a lot of poor people who can not afford for those expenses. Thereby, the government should invest more money to reform health care systems support all the poor in order to be cured in time.

Turning to the education, a person’s employability can be impaired if he does not have opportunity to study. Hence, it is worthwhile for the government to fulfil the policies providing aspiring students such as giving many scholarships for diligent students. Besides, the government funding should be diverted toward constructing the studying facilities. To illustrate this point, I would like to mention the current education in Vietnam. Most universities do not have enough laboratories with modern appliance for students to do research. Therefore, they just study theoretically.

Another point I would like to mention is that people should not shirk their responsibility to reduce the heavy burden on the government. All the inhabitants pay tax for public services thereby it is unequitable for the funding government support people who have inactive life or get the diseases from smoking.

Of all the above arguments, it can be concluded that the responsibility for health care and education should be shared between the government and the community to improve the quality of living.


2.2

Nowadays, apart from the developed countries, there are still many poor countries that need to regularly receive international aids. Some people are concerned that it is a morality to help each other. Meanwhile, others argue that the money aids always have been spent on the wrong purposes. In this essay, I shall discuss both sides of this issue.

The first reason support transnational aids is that many countries have been facing unprecedented natural disasters or pitfalls such as tsunami, volcano eruptions and other environmental threats to human survival. Hence, moral support from all the countries not only present the unity but also crucial to the survival and sustainability of human civilisation. A concrete example for that is a terrible famine with thousands of people dying of hunger in Ethiopia in 1980s. At that time, there were several years without rain and farmland became desert. There was no food and people died of hunger. Therefore, the Unesco and another countries in the world urged together to help Ethiopia recover the local inhabitants’ lives.

Undeniably, as the responsibility for helping each other, it is more likely reduce hostility among some countries. However, the money might be misspent by the government receiving it since the international aid was not sent to the recipients. There are many con***ions that the authorities corrupt almost the sum of money and the victims have to incur all the bad effects of the pitfall without any international help. Thereby, the Unesco must request all the countries compliance with the rules and to enforce stricter punishment for the corrupters.

According to the above analysis, we can observe that all countries in the world should help together for the global benefits. Not only would this improve human living standards but it would also against the conflicts. However, the governments should implement appropriate policies to manage the international aids rightly.

There are many standards about ideal partner for every one.In my opinion, my ideal partner must be has 3 qualities essential: interested in me; jovial; alway try to work and life.
Firsty,from my point of view.My boy friend must be interested in me. Interested is very necessary because it is revealing for sentiment.For instance: when I am happy or sad, he always beside me and to share with me. Most of people always want to find a ideal partner for themselves. But, how is perfect depend on standpoint of every one. For myself, i wish to find a ideal partner with three virtue: benevolent, honest and jovial.

Firstly, he must be a kind- hearted person. He help people who meet with difficulties and he love children and animals. Furthermore, he know how to care for family and interested in friends. A gracious man make me feel secure and confidence.

secondly,He is a righteous man. every people dislike to be lied and a honest man is always the preferable choice. Moreover, a man never lie you who share his thinks with you and you can share all my secret with him, that is very wonderful. it's unfortunate if you always doubt your partner.

Beside that, I also want my partner is humorous. I usually like listening jokes. If he is witty and he can tell me many jokes, he will make my life to be very interesting and I will enjoy to beside him all the time.
Although people usually want the partner is rich or good-looking and so do I, I still think that sincerity, intelligence and humour are more essential for my ideal lover. And I hope I will find him in the near future.

Everyone has different criterial to find their own ideal partner. For me, man with good qualities such as smart, willpower, and love me is my ideal partner.
Smart is one of the necessary con***ions to become my ideal partner. The smart man can make me feel proud, but it is not reason. I want to love a smart man because of my character. I am curious and often give a lot of questions in all cases. So the smart man will help me solve the problems that I wonder. Stand by him, I won’t never feel bored. I think that having a smart husband will help us have intelligent children like him in the future.
The second necessary con***ion is willpower man. The man that has willpower will overcome all challenges in his life despit the low staring point. He easily succeed in his own career as well as building the family. That is the man I can trust.
Finally, the sufficient con***ion to become my ideal partner is to love me sincerely. For me, love is a important factor to have happy marriage forever.
Although I am a bit greedy but I think that the man with above qualities is person I need, who bring me happiness in my life and importanly, it is my ideal partner.

An experimental vaccine fight to flu was tested in alarge country on females only. Figures were provided by three charts, involve : a number of deaths from flue shown in the bar chart, females tested new vaccine in the pie chart, and cases of flu for the two ***es in the line chart.

In the bar chart, most of the death cases in the town were females in the March to May period, which was 2 cases. However, in June to August at the same year, there was a13 per cent increase in death cases of males, and females were more twice than males, which were about 28 per cent.

In the pie chart, the major part female recipients was aged over 65 years old which occupied 35 per cent, children were 24 per cent, and remain 28 per cent.

In the line chart, number of both males and females from flu reached a peak in June ( females about 4000 cases, males about 2500 cases). The last half of the year 1996, flu rates for males and females decreased steadily but males went down faster.

Each person have their own ideal partner. So, although I haven’t got my ideal partner yet, but I think she should be rich, humor and hard working person.

Fist, a rich woman is very important for my ideal partner. Because my salary is very ****ty so I always afraid that I can’t afford my family living life. From my point, my partner have to earn too much money from her job. For example, I hope that she can earn about two thousand USD per month. It’ s enough for our family living life in Hanoi. Thus I don’t be stressed about money, so I can smile with our family life

Second, I hope that my partner is a humorous person. I belive tha humor is very important to the life. Nowadays, the Vietnamese economy and society are changing quicjkly, so you are alaways stress with offical things. Leave the officicer and go to your house, you ‘ll fell interesed if your parner is a humor one. And if your partner view life with a pessimistic eye, you ‘ ll be stressed extremely

Third, work hard is the most important paticular that I want to see in my partner. Your partner always spend too much money if she go out to shopping or thinking of ridicoulous or using internet for chatting with her fridens. So, if have any free time, she had better do cooking or washing.

Four pie charts indicate the proportion of money that an average family used for restaurant meals in three decades from 1970 to 2000. The line graph illustrates the amount of meal taken in fast-food restaurants and sit-down restaurants Regarding pie charts , the thirty year period witnessed a steady growth in the percentage of food budget spent on restaurant meals . In 1970 , the percentage of home-cooking meals constituted at 90% of the total budget . Afterwards , the figure for restaurant meals rose gradually to 15% in 1980 and 35% in 1990 . Following this upward trend , the proportion of restaurant meals reached its peak in 2000 , making up a half of the total budget
In the case of line graph , it can be clearly seen that there were upward trends in both types of restaurant . In 1970 , the number of meals per year of these two kinds of restaurant started at 20 . While the level of growth for fast food restaurant was dramatic and rapid , that of sit-down meals was gradual . The former peaked at well above 80 meals and the latter hit its highest point of 40 meals .
It can be inferred from the graph that , there was an increase in the amount of money that families spent on restaurants

Regarding lunch, the figure hovered around $2500 then hit the peak of $2595 on Wednesday . At weekend , Iit declined sharply to just $1550 .
In the case of dinner, the trend was more dramatic . There was a steady growth in the amount of money gained from Monday to Friday and the figure peaked at $4300 on Friday . Following this upward trend, the profit dropped remarkably to approximately $2450 at the end of the period .
In can be inferred from the table that since the restaurant locates in the downtown center , it is supposed to earn more money on weekdays which are also working days .

However the abuse of money spending happens rarely and well-undercontrolled by authorities . In ad***ion , international helps foster the education and understanding between nations .
