    -Nguyễn Vinh Hoa-B4:[/b
    MY IDEAL HUSBAND
In life, everyone always has an ideal person in his/her mind. I would like to share with you my thoughts of an ideal husband that I dream of.
In general,an ideal husband should be a simple man, who loves and is loved by the family. He definitely needs to understand and sympathize with me like the best friend.
I myself do not believe in ?oa hut ?" 2 golden hearts? so, a good job is initial because he can maintain a stable living, further more when we talk about a successful man always refer to his career.
Surely I?Tm very happy if an ideal husband always respects my hobbies. Eg, he takes me out for shopping when we are free, goes to picnic and relaxes with friends at weekends or visits friends / relatives, especially if he will be my classical dancing partner. It would be sweet if he could see me off when I go to work everyday. On the anniversaries like birthday, wedding ?, he will show his concerns and respects with the best wishes, flowers or gifts.
Life will be more meaningful if he could be a humourous husband but the most important is to respect of decisions and opinions of each other, and makes me completely believe in him. Moreover, he is the person who always shares the sadness and hapiness with me because the best way to overcome all the difficulties in life is sharing and being shared. We will always tell all problems that we face and need to solve. For example, when I am busy with my work, it is necessary to sympathize with me and help me to do some housework. If I meet difficulties, he is the first one who gives the best ideas.
On the other hand, he will be a man who concedes all best things to me. And when I get angry, he is a husband whom I can pull his ears S Finally, better if possible, my husband is handsome.
That is my ideal husband in my dream. I hope one day, in very near future, my dream will come true, my ideal husband and I will live a happy life forever. And you, what is about your idea?
    -AIA-B6:
    Things I like to do.
    ?
I am not quite a type of person who belongs to working. However, till this time no one has complaint that I am lazy. I think 24 hours per day seems not enough for me to have a really sleeping. As many other 8X, I must do many things as duty and do something I like. In general, I am enjoying the big number of things but things I like to do one not as that. I quite like watching TV, going out with my friends, reading and collection of piglet.
I never say ?ono? with news or films. News help me update information daily, it?Ts important if you are a student. You perhaps can?Tt spend much money buying newspapers. Do you like films? It makes me have many things after each film.
Besides, I like going out with my friends. We can go around the city or the country to discover the life, talking, eating or playing together. Maybe, the silience between us is lovely testate of relationships. Smile with everybody and hold their hands you?Tll feel your heart get warmer. Moreover, I also especially love reading. I?Tve read many books ?" novels ?" poems ?" history. The best I like is Jane Eyre. That?Ts quite wonderful. In ad***ion, I have a big collection about piglet. They?Tre small and look lovely; Cute piglets in other styles were bought from many places to note my memories as passing the exam, Valentine Day, sunny day, rainy day? Sometimes, my mother?Ts ill_tempered but I still brings more and more piglet to my home. However, I know she also feels like seeing them.
Arcording to me, sometimes which things i do not like what things I like and I must accept it but you had better take care of things you love. If you don?Tt know what things you really like to do and how you can do that, you only exist, not alive. Just believe me about that.
    -Essay
Some people prefer to eat at food stands or restaurants. Other people prefer to prepare and eat food at home. Which do you you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples *****pport your answer.
Although many people prefer to eat at restaurant because it is easier than cooking at home, I prefer to prepare food at home. I believe it is much cheaper and healthier to eat at home, and it can be more convenient, too.
While eating in restaurant is fast, the money you spend can add up. When I have dinner at a restaurant, the bill is usually $25 or more. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a food stand can easily cost seven or eight dollars. That?Ts enough to feed the whole family at home.
Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurant are often high in fat and calories. When you cook at home, however, you can control what you eat. You can cook with low-fat and low-calories ingredients. Restaurants also often serve big plates of food. You may eat a full plate of food at a restaurant? because you paid for it?,?while at home you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want.
It may seem more convenient to eat at a restaurant because you don?Tt have to shop, cook, or clean up. All you do is to eat. Cooking at home ,however, can actually be more convenient. There are lots of simple meals that don?Tt take long to prepare. In addi-tion, when you eat at home, you don?Tt have to drive to the restaurant, look for a parking space, wait for a table, and wait for service.
People often choose to eat at restaurants because it seems more convenient. I find, however, that cooking at home is actually easier, and it is cheaper and healthier as well.

    -English-Vietnamese translation:[/b
    Mind your own business:
He who is too busy doing good finds no time to be good!
How busy are you?Are you rushing through most days trying to do as many things as possible?Do you feel guilty when you make the effort to slow down?
If so,you need to know about the Chinese word for?busy? .It is a pictograph composed of two characters:heart and killing. The implication is disquieting and raises a serious question as to what all of your busyness may be doing to you.
While it?Ts true that research on personalities types has found that too much busyness may endanger your physical health,as in heart disease,it is more likely to take a psychological and emotional toll. This is evident in the common sense metaphors we use to describe people overwhelmed by the demands of life as being?robbed of heart? or experiencing a?loss of heart?
?oTo be robbed of heart refers to a loss of energy, fortitude, and courage while?to lose heart? is to become discouraged and depressed. What?Ts more, the heart is sometimes poetically viewed as the focus of feelings and intuition. For example,it might be said?In your heart you know it is true?.Endanger the heart in this sense and you may lose direction and purpose.
Too much busyness runs the risk of deadening us to life and, paradoxically, can result in a loss of the enthusiasm and joy that all of our busyness is seeking.
The antidote to the negative effects of busyness is fpund in occasionally slowing down.We need to grant ourselves permission to relax, and this most often requires an intentional effort to do so.
The problem is that slowing down can feel like ?odoing nothing? ,and busy people have to do nothing.
However,if we slow down and stop burdening ourselves with excessive activity,we may find ourselves enlivened.Rather than feeling disheartened by too much busyness,we may take heart in the midst of a quiet moment and,in doing so,gather our energy back.
Slow down can be invigorating, and,as added advantage, may also make us healthier.Benefits of relaxation include lower blood pressure, deeper breathing, and reduced muscular tension, which often mean fewer aches and pains.
Consider adopting the motto-Mind your own busyness-as a good rule for daily life.Catch yourself in a busy moment and slow down on purpose.
    Good night!Sleep like a baby....

Consider the following facts : (1) Antisocial behaviour among the young (crime, violence etc) is increasing and their educational standards are falling, (2) Children are eating more so called ?ojunk(or rubbish) food?.Could these two facts be connected?Until recently more expert opinion would have made fun of the question itself. Now,it seems, the experts may have to think again, taking into account the results of recently completed scientific trials, which have dramatically demonstarted the effects of children?Ts food on their behaviour and intellectual performance.
The central issue behind the new trials concerns the importance of vitamins. For years those interested in healthy food have claimed we don?Tt get enough goodness from modern processed food and that we all need extra vitamins and minerals to be really healthy.Established medical opinion tends to laugh at this idea, saying that for the vast majority of us a normal diet contains more than enough goodness, and that taking expensive vitamin and mineral supplements is throwing money away.
It is hardly surprising, therefore, that the new studies were carried out by people with no professional background in food whatever.Yet they may be the most important studies on children?Ts food this decade.G.Robert was, until recently, the senior science teacher at Darland High School in North Wales.Over the past ten years he has developed an interest in food, partly because he found taking vitamin pills gave him more energy, but also because he began to notice disturbing changes in his pupils.?In the last eight years or so I?Tve found many more pupils lacking in concentration;they seem to have difficulty following the lessons in class.Similar observations have been made by teachers right across the country?.Roberts also noticed that his pupils?T eating habits were changing, and felt his two observations might be concernde. So he undertook to make a detailed record of what 100 of his pupils ate over a three-day period. He was shocked:?some of them come to school with no breakfast,so in the morning they fill themselves up with crisps and sweets from the corner shop. The same thing happens at break time and lunch time?.In the past children could have expected to receive a proper midday meal at school but,as more schools have been officially encouraged to adopt self-service systems, many children choose their own food-with obvious results.
When the diets of Roberts?T pupils were analyzed for their food content, they were found to be lacking in an average of ten vitamins and minerals, according to amounts officially recommended for children.Roberts?T analysis, although alarming,is not particularly surprising-four other recent surveys of British children have all reported a significant lack of essential vitamins.
Could the poor diet of some of his pupils, asked roberts,be a possible cause of their poor performance in class?

    Vietnamese tea in Canada

Ms. Dinh Kim Nguyet and her husband, Yukon''s Finance Minister, Mr. Peter Laight, become volunteers to spread Vietnamese culture to Whitehorse, a small city in the Yukon Territory in the far northern of Canada. She tells her story:

In 2003, I had an undreamed-of opportunity to visit Canada. One August afternoon I left the heat wave that was engulfing Europe at the time and upon arriving in Whitehorse, a small city of 25,000 people situated in the Yukon Territory in the far northern region of Canada, about 1,500 km north of Vancouver, Canada, found myself in a vast green field that was decorated with profusion of unfamiliar flowers. I was impressed with the abundance of nature, even in this far northern region.

Naturally, I wanted to try to meet some of the Vietnamese immigrants that settled here, with the hope of being able to satisfy my curiosity about the mysterious ?oViet Kieu? (Vietnamese emigrants) who are very confusing to the young people in Viet Nam today.

"Tea Ceremony, one of the great passions in my life" - Ms Dinh Kim Nguyet (Photo: D.K.N)
Most of the Vietnamese immigrants now in Canada left Viet Nam 20 to 30 years ago and so many have mixed feelings about their country. Until recently, not many Viet Kieu were not able to return to visit Viet Nam to find out what it is like now. Now that Viet Kieu are beginning to visit Viet Nam again, a lot of curiosity has been generated on both sides about the life of the Viet Kieu and about life in Viet Nam today.

I was very lucky because nearly all the Vietnamese families in Whitehorse opened their doors wide and received me warmly. We shared some nice meals and had some very animated discussions about life in Viet Nam today.

My main purpose for staying in Canada now is to take a Business and Tourism program, and to find tourists who want to come to Viet Nam. I therefore am trying to develop contacts with all the local people. I have made good contacts through the local francophone community and through teachers at the local college. The local francophone community is well organized and it is a good way to make contact with a lot of people.

I had an unexpected contact from a charitable organization that wanted to display some Vietnamese culture at a dinner they were organizing to raise money for land mine victims. Initially, they only wanted to borrow some of my ao dai (Vietnamese tra***ional dresses) to display on the wall of the dining room, to create an atmosphere of Vietnam.
After thinking about it overnight, I decided to be bold and suggest that we find some girls my size who could wear my ao dai, instead of just hanging them on the wall.

And do I went to the dinner wearing an ao dai. The event, with ao dai on display and the Vietnamese food being served, helped me to make many new contacts among the people of Whitehorse in the context of my Vietnamese culture.

One thought that came to my mind was: why do none of the local Vietnamese women take part in social activities like this? I did invite them, but they were not interested. In the end, I supported the dinner alone.

My next activity was to organize a tea ceremony ?" one of the great passions in my life. My Canadian friends had complete confidence in me. Immediately I was offered an ideal room and other essentials for my tra***ional tea ceremony. The first time I had 10 guests, and the second time I had 30 guests, and so it went.

Through my tea ceremony I was able to spread information about Vietnamese culture and interest people in traveling in Viet Nam. My tea ceremony is a good way to demonstrate to everyone the pleasure in the Vietnamese way of serving tea. In Viet Nam we are lucky to be able to produce two types of tea that are of a high grade by world standards: the green hook tea of the north, and the white hair tea of the south.

Since I have only performed the tea ceremony a few times, I cannot yet say what the results will be. If, by means of Vietnamese food and drink, I can persuade my friends to understand the fine features of Asian culture, I am sure that they will appreciate my efforts. The people in Whitehorse are very interested in learning about Vietnamese culture because they recognize the tremendous contrast between a country like Vietnam, with 4000 years of culture and history, and an region like Yukon where little is known about its culture beyond a few hundred years ago.

Right now, I have returned to Viet Nam for a while. I am sitting here writing these words in the hectic atmosphere of the Spring, when the tropical spring flowers are showing off their colorful petals every where in central Saigon. I would like to recommend to all my Viet Kieu friends in Canada and elsewhere my very personal feeling that we all must firmly believe in the beauty of our national spirit and culture of Viet Nam. Viet Nam has a magnificant history and established its identity as a country over a thousand years ago.

We have at hand something special and everyone could easily recognize what distinguishes us from the rest of the world. My dear friends, please be proud to be Vietnamese.
@các học trò cũ cưng:such as Nghị,Linh,Vũ,Vinh,Nga còi,Long cong đuôi etc...nhớ các iem wá,lúc nào rảnh rỗi lớp mình lại ọp ẹp nháhappiness''ll come to all of you,and just remember:we''re all friends forever,in this life....
