Speaking online, focus on IELTS speaking skill

Hi people, I intend to take the IELTS test on September, or October at the latest! Actually I do not have many chances to practice speaking, so now I want to make a group for people with the same purpose as me to practice speaking online, and we will focus on IELTS speaking section. It means we will act like in an real IELTS speaking test, one will be the interviewer and the other will be the interviewee (candidate). After someone finishes his/her speaking (about 10-15 mins), others will raise their comments or suggestions.

To save your time and money, the group will be run online, using SKYPE (not YM), I choose Skype for its quality voice chat, especially when we use voice chatting in group. Speaking online has the following benefits:

- You do not have to go far from your home, so you do not have to care about distance, weather, vehicle....
- We do not have to find a suitable place to study (it is very difficult to find a good place to study now)
- The speaking will run even there are only 2 people online.
- You do not have to show your face
- And the most important benefit: you can improve your English, especially speaking skill.

This group will begin immediately if there is a people to speak with me.

There are some requirements (all are mandatory) :
- You can speak English and Vietnamese
- You are going to take the IELTS test (no matter it is next week, next month, next year or next...incarnation )
- A computer with an ADSL internet connection, skype installed.
- A microphone
- You are free for some days of the week, from 8pm ?" 10 pm.

The first speaking section is expected to be held on next Tuesday, from 8pm - 10pm. I want to have at least 2 sections per week. We will discuss further in the first online meeting.

a nice idea!! i wonder if u can change the day, another day instead of next Tuesday coz i can not join your group at that time. Will Wenesday be available for u?

Tình hình ngay tối (đêm) hôm qua đã có buổi nói chuyện đầu tiên với 3 đồng chí , nói từ khoảng 11h30 tới 1h sáng trong đó 1 người ở phố Hồng Mai, 1 người tận Lạc Long Quân . 2 người nữa cũng gia nhập nhóm nhưng do muộn quá nên hẹn hôm khác sẽ nhập room.
Thế mới biết nếu không có speaking online thì với địa điểm và giờ giấc như vậy thì các bác khó mà gặp nhau được
Giờ giấc bây giờ có thể co dãn từ 8h cho tới 12h, lên Skype gặp ai online thì nói luôn thôi hi hi
Có nói mới thấy khả năng speaking của mình còn yếu quá

Hic, this topic has been here for a long time, and I do not know which page it is on now, but there are about 1-2 people every month found this topic and add me on Yahoo or Skype with "IELTS speaking online"
I just want to say that, I took the IELTS long time a go (September 2007) with reasonable result (6.5 overall). Now I am studying MSc in Belgium (Of course, my study program is taught in English).
Since then, I have not been able to manage this group anymore for a long time, and I will not participate in online speaking practice. But I still can help you finding materials on IELTS preparation and some tips.
But if someone still wants to practice speaking online, please leave your Yahoo ID or Skype username here, so you can add each others (not me because I am out) and practice speaking like the way we did since it is very useful and convenient.
