ST VINNIES KIDS CAMPS

Every year up to three (5 day) camps are run by young adult members of the Society for children aged 6-12 in the school/uni holidays.

We run these camps for three main reasons:
1. Going on a camp is often the only opportunity these children have to experience a holiday. They are able to forget about any problems that may be occuring at home, have fun and just be a kid!
2. By looking after the children we are able to give their parents some much needed respite.
3. Camps fit in with the Mission of the Society- helping those in need on a person to person basis. We are able to develop strong personal bonds with the children we take on camps and act as positive role models for them.

The Kids Camps Committee, headed by the Kids Camp President organise and plan the whole camp. How many children can attend the camp is often dependent on how many people we can get to attend the camp as leaders. So this is where we need your help!! The next Kids Camp will be held on June 26-30. Please tell your fellow members and friends about our camps!

They are an incredible amount of fun and having been on a number of camps myself, I can attest to how rewarding an experience they are.

We have two information nights coming up, which interested people need to attend to go on camp.

The first on is on Wednesay 26 April at St. Francis'''' Church (Monastery Hall) in the city (cnr of Lonsdale and Elizabeth Sts) at 7pm. St Francis is right next to Melbourne Central Station and carparking is usually available after 6pm.

The second info night will be held at the Society''''s Head Office on Sunday 30 April also at 7pm. The address is 43-45 Prospect St. Box Hill. Carparking is available at head office and Box Hill Station is only a 5 minute walk away.

At the info nights specific information about camps will be presented and those interested will be able to apply to attend camp. If selected they then attend a training session.
