    Six Rio Tinto Chevening Scholarships for the one-year
    full-time LL.M in Mineral Law and Policy at University of
    Dundee''s Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law &
    Policy (CEPMLP) are now being offered for the academic year
    starting September 2006.
    The scholarships are part funded by Rio Tinto plc, the
    Foreign Commonwealth Office and CEPMLP. Covering tuition
    fees and living expenses they also provide successful

    Peace and Reconciliation Studies Scholarship For Master''''s studies
    Deadline: June 1 2006
    The Centre for Peace and Reconciliation Studies at Coventry University in England is offering eight scholarships to overseas (non-European Union, or EU) students for their one-year Master''''s programme in Peace and Reconciliation Studies. The scholarship will cover the tuition fees, valued at Ê8500, and recipients will be responsible for securing funds for subsistence and accommodation. It is meant *****pport the higher education of people from low income countries outside the EU; that is, applicants from the United States, Japan, and so on will not be eligible.
    The aim of the MA in Peace and Reconciliation Studies is to "enable students to develop the knowledge and skill base necessary to understand the linkages between the different levels of destructive conflict in the world, to understand the theory and practice of peace-making and peace-building at the various levels, and to evaluate alternative modes of action and intervention in the attempt to transform violent and destructive conflict along non-violent and constructive channels."

    M.A. Scholarships in Advanced European and International Studies in France
    A. SCHOLARSHIPS FROM VARIOUS ORGANISATIONS
    Scholarships to cover the total or partial costs of tuition and living expenses can be granted by different organisations depending on the nationality of the applicant.
    1. In some countries candidates may obtain scholarships from their universities or from organisations such as:
    - D.A.A.D. for German students
    - D.E.S. for British students
    - U.S. Department of Education for American students
    - Rotary International Foundation
    - Soros Foundation for students from Central and Eastern Europe, etc.
    If you want to apply for a scholarship of these organisations, please contact them directly.
    2. Fellowships from the French Government for foreign students can also be obtained. Candidates should contact the cultural services at the French Embassy in their country where they may obtain useful information on the procedures to follow. The deadline for applications for felllowships of the French Government is the end of the calendar year preceding the academic year you apply for.
    3. The I.E.H.E.I. can also, under special con***ions related to the nationality and the qualification of the student, present applications to differents ministeries and foundations which may award fellowships. These fellowships will be administered by the Institute.
    4. Candidates can also ask for student loans from banks in France or in others countries.
    B. SPECIAL FUND FOR FELLOWSHIPS FROM THE CENTRE INTERNATIONAL DE FORMATION EUROPEENNE
    Candidates who are not able to obtain a fellowship from one of the above mentioned organisations may ask for financial aid from the CIFE.

    INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS
    A very small number of Australian Government scholarships under the Endeavour International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (IPRS) Program and UTS scholarships (IRS) will be available to international students to study either a PhD or Master''s Degree by Research at UTS in 2007.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR SCHOLARSHIP
    Applications are open to citizens of all overseas countries (excluding New Zealand), who are commencing full-time study in 2007 for a higher degree by research.
    No age restriction applies for applicants.
    The following categories of student are INELIGIBLE for a scholarship under the scheme:
    * an overseas student who has already obtained a PhD Degree or equivalent;
    * an overseas student who has already obtained a Master''s Degree by Research and who seeks to undertake another Master''s Degree by Research;
    * an overseas student who has commenced PhD study in an Australian University prior to 1 January 2007;
    * an overseas student who has commenced Master''s by Research study in an Australian University prior to 1 January 2007 and who seeks to undertake another Master''s Degree by Research;
    * an overseas student who is currently studying on a scholarship sponsored by AusAID or has recently studied on such a scholarship. All AusAID sponsored students are required to leave Australia at the completion of their AusAID - funded studies and not return to Australia within 2 years.

    * If known, contact names of possible supervisors at UTS and whether or not you have been in contact with them; and,
    * Reports from 2 referees who can vouch for your capacity to carry out research (eg. an academic) on the Academic Refereê?Ts Report.
    2. International Postgraduate Research Scholarships Application
    3. Documentary evidence of English proficiency and prior study. Certified copies of English language test results must be provided. Certified copies of degree(s) awarded and full academic transcript(s) showing the subjects studied, the marks obtained and an explanation of the grading system must be provided. Photocopies that are not certified will not be accepted. The International Student Postgraduate Application form lists the organisations authorised by UTS to certify documents. If the documents are not in English, the original language documents and an official translation are required.
    Please refer to the UTS Graduate School for available courses and research areas within the Faculties and for further information on application requirements for research degrees.

    No application fee is required.

    Master and Doctoral Scholarships in Global IT Technology in Korea
    ITTP, sponsored by the Korean government, offers a customized master''s and doctoral degree program for government officials, employees of public institutions or senior-level researchers at national research centers working in the IT fields of foreign countries. All the students will receive scholarships, up to 2 years for master degree students and up to 3 years for doctoral degree students.
    This program focuses on transferring advanced technologies and business strategies of Korea to the next generation global IT leaders. After the education at ICU, a distinguished IT university, the ITTP students will acquire not only all the accumulated know-hows of the IT industry of Korea but also the creative abilities to apply learned knowledges and skills to their own countries. The graduates of the program will receive updates of current developments in the IT fields of Korea through annual or biannual newsletters, and remain networked through regularly scheduled seminars.
    Qualification:

    Our Undergraduate Engineering Scholarships for Canadian women went through a major transformation for 2004 and the following changes are highlighted.
    1. Applicants may now be in the first term of their 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of an accre***ed Canadian engineering program.
    2. All applicants must develop a presentation that explores how engineers of many different disciplines work in the broad field of "Environmental Engineering".
    3. All applicants must complete an essay on their personal leadership qualities.
    4. Applications no longer need to be submitted through the Dean''s Office but must include a Letter of Support from a Professor, Department Head, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean or the Dean.
    All young women in their first three years of engineering study are invited to apply for a $5,000 scholarship.

    Interdisciplinary Research Center for Computer Science and Technology of the University of Paderborn
    The Graduate College of Heinz Nixdorf Institute "Parallel Computer Networks in Production Technique" offers several Ph.D positions supported by a scholarship. The Graduate Center was founded at 01/01/1993 and is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Westfalen Foundation.
    The research activities of the Graduate Center are focused on investigating the potential of using parallel computer networks in manufacturing technology.
