    Charlize Theron

    Quote

"I think of myself as a highly ***ual creature."
    -Charlize Theron

    Biography

Charlize Theron was born in Benoni, South Africa, on the 7th of August, 1975. Her father Charles worked on the family''s road-construction business, which mother Gerda took over after Charles'' death in 1990. Apparently, Charlize''s mother shot her husband Charlie in self-defense, after he attacked her in a drunken state.

Charlize started out as a professional dancer, which allowed the young 6-year-old to fantasize and be the actress that she ultimately turned out to be. Since the farm they lived on had no means of entertainment (no television or movies), Charlize had to use her passion for dancing and her imagination to entertain herself when not caring for the farm animals. After dancing in Johannesburg, she began modeling in Milan, Italy, by the time she was 16.

    Dancing her way to discovery

But modeling was not fulfilling enough for Charlize, who wanted to return to her original passion -- dance -- after only a year as a model. While modeling gave her the opportunity to travel, she decided to stay in New York after a modeling shoot, in order to study ballet at the Joffrey School in the Big Apple. Bored of modeling, Charlize wanted to do more than stand around and look pretty.

Unfortunately, Charlize suffered from a knee injury that forced her ballet career to come to an end. Jobless and broke, Charlize headed for the West Coast. In 1994, her luck and career path changed. When she threw a tantrum and made a scene at a Los Angeles bank after a teller refused to cash a check because she didn''t have an account at the bank, a talent manager noticed the natural beauty.

John Crosby (who also discovered model-turned-actress Rene Russo) encouraged Charlize to try her hand at acting. It didn''t take much convincing, since she was currently unemployed. With no money to pay for a coach to perfect her English accent, Charlize set out to lose her South African accent by singing along to popular music and watching television shows to study the American accent.

Trial and error worked for her

Charlize finally landed her first role, as Helga Svelgen in 2 Days in The Valley. Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for her career, Charlize was not chosen as the lead stripper in the disastrous movie Showgirls. She was cast in That Thing You Do!, after Tom Hanks was extremely impressed by her knack for acting. She then appeared in 1997''s Trial and Error, co-starring Michael Richards, and had a supporting role in The Devil''s Advocate, which starred Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino.

After a role in Woody Allen''s Celebrity as a supermodel, the long-legged beauty starred in the Disney film, Mighty Joe Young. 1999 was a big year for Charlize, with a string of heftier roles; Charlize co-starred with Johnny Depp in The Astronaut''s Wife and had a supporting role in the Academy Award-winning film, The Cider House Rules.

Reindeer Games was next, followed by The Yards and Men of Honor. She was also seen in another period piece, the golf flick The Legend of Bagger Vance, with Matt Damon and Will Smith.

    Getting the job done

In 2001, Theron reunited with Keanu Reeves for the schmaltzy Sweet November, and had a small role as a madam in 15 Minutes. After a role in Woody Allen''s The Curse of the Jade Scorpion and the thriller Trapped, Charlize showed off her driving skills in the summer 2003 hit, The Italian Job.

With the lead role in the biopic Monster (portraying Aileen Wuornos), in which she will be forced to flex her acting muscles, and several upcoming movies in the pipeline, Charlize is clearly one of the most talented and beautiful actresses of her generation...

"I spent a lot of time with a crown on my head."
-Halle Berry, on her beauty pageant days
    Biography

Born August 14, 1966, in Cleveland, Ohio, Halle Maria Berry was raised by her mother Ju***h, a psychiatric ward nurse, with her older sister Heidi. Ju***h''''s husband, Halle''''s father, walked out on her family when she was only four years old.
Although living in a single parent household was somewhat tough, Halle''''s mom managed to move the family out of the inner city neighborhood and into the suburbs of Cleveland. Because the neighborhood was predominantly white, Halle and her sister were treated cruelly because of their dark skin.
    The dream has just begun
Determined not to let the color of her skin get the better of her, Halle made it a point to make friends, while her dream of becoming an actress had already begun *****rface.
By the time Halle reached high school, she was a cheerleader, an honor society member, e***or of the school paper, and class president. Not surprisingly, she was crowned her high school''''s prom queen.
In 1983, when she was only 17 years old, Halle''''s boyfriend at the time entered her name in the Miss Teen Ohio beauty pageant. Once again, it''''s no surprise that Halle got to wear the crown in that competition.
But it didn''''t stop there, Halle won many other high-profile competitions, including Miss Teen All American, Miss USA and Miss World. Once she was done raking in points by winning pageant after pageant, Halle continued her education at Cleveland''''s Cuyahoga Community College in 1986, studying broadcast journalism.
    A living doll
Unfortunately, Halle didn''''t complete her degree -- she left the program to pursue a more glamorous career in modeling, and started studying acting in Chicago. Although Halle au***ioned for soap opera and drama guru Aaron Spelling for a part in Charlie''''s Angels and didn''''t get the part, Spelling encouraged Halle to pursue her dreams of being an actress.
Halle picked up and moved to Manhattan, where she immediately landed her first TV gig called Living Dolls. Although the show was short-lived, Halle was more determined than ever to become a great actress.
Halle got her first big break in 1989, when Spike Lee cast her as a crack-addicted woman in Jungle Fever, starring opposite Samuel L. Jackson. She was so determined to execute the role perfectly that Halle actually interviewed real addicts and stopped bathing ten days before filming the racially charged film.
Soon after that, Halle reverted back to television and had a recurring role on the popular nighttime soap opera, Knots Landing, in 1991. But the big screen was Halle''''s goal and she soon landed another part, this time playing the exotic girlfriend of Damon Wayans in the film The Last Boy Scout, which also starred Bruce Willis.
As with her Jungle Fever role, Halle delved into this role wholeheartedly, so much so that she convinced a Hollywood strip-club owner to let her dance on stage.
In 1993, Halle landed a starring role opposite none other than the comedy man himself, Eddie Murphy in Boomerang. This is the same year that she met, fell in love with, and married Atlanta Braves right fielder David Justice. Unfortunately, the marriage was short-lived and they divorced a few years later.
But on a happier note, Halle became engaged to soul singer Eric Benet in 1999, and eventually married the R&B singer and actor in 2001.
    Going up
It was her riveting big-screen role as an illiterate addict who abandons her child in a garbage can in Losing Isaiah that shot Halle''''s star up high. She decided to take a lighter acting job after that and starred in the 1994 movie The Flintstones. Unfortunately for Halle, she missed the role of a lifetime when she passed up the lead in the film Speed, which ultimately worked wonders for Sandra Bullock''''s career.
Other movies that Halle starred in include Executive Decision (1996); Race the Sun (1996); B*A*P*S (1997); a TV mini-series called The Wedding (1998), Bulworth (1998); and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, for which she won a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV movie.
    A storm of ***iness
More recently, Halle starred in the live film adaptation of the cartoon strip X-Men, as Storm/Ororo Munroe -- along with fellow mutants Rebecca Romijn-Stamos and Famke Janssen -- and she presently makes a whopping $2.5 million for each film role she accepts. She has also returned to modeling, as a spokeperson for Revlon. Because Halle was diagnosed with diabetes not too long ago, she is an avid volunteer of the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
Unfortunately, Halle made headlines when she was charged with a hit and run in 2000, and pleaded no contest -- the judge ordered her to perform 200 hours of community service. She also made the news when she was allegedly payed a $500,000 bonus to reveal her breasts in a scene in 2001''''s hacker film, Swordfish.
Audiences can see more of Halle in the film Monster''''s Ball, in her critically-acclaimed portrayal of a death row convict''''s wife. Halle received the 2002 SAG award for Best Actress in Monster''''s Ball and made history at the Oscars as the first black actress to receive a Best Actress Academy Award. Her Oscar triumph has cemented her as an A-list actress.
But this doesn''''t mean there''''s no room for action blockbusters; Halle will appear in the second installment of what looks like an X-Men franchise, set for a 2003 release, and as Jinx in the next James Bond film, Die Another Day.
Halle has accomplished much fame and fortune in her professional career, but it''''s evident that she''''s going to be around for quite a long time.
Halle Berry is the epitome of beauty and talent. Her incredible charm, charisma, glow, and unbelievable good looks can make any man weep for more of this enchanting young actress. She initially struggled up the Hollywood food chain, but she is now a shark that has also become very well respected by her peers.
Though it took a while for Hollywood to wake up to her talents, when it did, Halle embraced it with dignity and modesty, even though she had all the reasons in the world to have a chip on her shoulder. Her win at the 2000 Golden Globes for her powerful performance in Introducing Dorothy Dandridge and now at the 2002 Oscars for Monster''''s Ball, was not only well-deserved, but also an introspective look into the character of one of Hollywood''''s brightest stars. She proves that beauty and intelligence can go hand in hand.
    Why she is desirable ?

    Personality and Talent

She can be tough when she wants to be -- just like ex-husband, baseball player David Justice found out -- but when her soft side comes out, she is one of the most caring people around. In Hollywood, she is well-known for her professionalism and tenacity. Lately her defenses are up though, due to the media''''s excruciating coverage and criticism of her hit-and-run incident in 2000. She was nearly brutalized in the press, but managed *****rvive the incident stronger albeit more jaded.
It wasn''''t the first time she had to overcome abuse; she lost 80% of the hearing in her left ear from a physically abusive boyfriend.
As for her acting talent; whether you saw her in Jungle Fever or Monster''''s Ball, you know Halle Berry has the acting thing down pat. Her range as an actress is impressive considering the limited education and training she received in the craft.
    ***iness

She was put on this earth to make men''''s jaws drop. She has done a great job so far; her *** appeal is undeniable. Men literally get numb and tremble when they stand next to her (that includes us).
    Accomplishments & fame

Though she often receives acclaim for her acting roles, she has made some career mistakes, such as turning down roles in Speed and Waiting to Exhale. Still, her Golden Globe, Oscar and SAG trophies, and the slew of great films she has appeared in have cemented her reputation as a serious actress.
Her modeling career wasn''''t bad either. Her most high-profile modeling job was for Revlon (which also featured Karen Duffy and Cindy Crawford). She won the Miss Teen All-American Pageant and was the runner-up in the Miss USA Pageant. She didn''''t become a top model only because of her height (or lack thereof).
    Natural Beauty

She spent most of her youth in beauty pageants, and for good reason. Play..boy named her among the 100 ***iest women of the century in 1998. Her face is perfect, and her physical attributes are another study in perfection.
    Personal Style

One of her greatest strengths is her style. She can dress elegantly, yet remain incredibly ***y. Few women can pull that off. She is without question one of Hollywood''''s best dressed women

    Heidi Klum

    biography

Heidi Klum (pronounced "Kloom") was born June 1st, 1973, in Bergische Gladbach, a small city in Germany. Practically destined to be a fashion model, Heidi''s father, Gunther, worked for a cosmetics company, while her mother, Erna, was a hairdresser.
18 years old and still in high school, Heidi came across an ad for a model competition in her area while reading a magazine. While she was intrigued by the idea, she never even dreamed of the possibility of entering, much less of winning, but her friend had a different attitude and encouraged her to send in some photos.
    model for all ages
The "Model ''92" competition, organized by the Petra magazine and a New York Model agency, had a grueling selection process, where thirty to forty applicants arrived to Munich, hoping to be chosen as one of the three to appear on the Saturday Show of Gottschalk. While candidates were eliminated on a weekly basis, Heidi was one of the three finalists, and made the final cut to become "Model ''92."
What began as a "just for fun" contest, turned into a life-altering event for the beautiful brunette. Heidi immediately signed a contract with the Metropolitan modeling agency, for a minimum of three years.
Heidi''s first modeling gigs were for the Petrol catalogue. Before heading to the other side of the Atlantic, she modeled in fashion capitals such as Paris and Milan. When she finally did move overseas, Heidi found work in Miami before making the move to the highly competitive Big Apple.
With patience and effort, the work offers started to pour in for Heidi. She appeared in many print advertisements, including: Bonne Bell (which Denise Richards also modeled for), Finesse, Gerry Weber, Givenchy''s Amarige, I-N-C, and she hit it big with the Victoria''s Secret campaign.
    angelic heidi
As one of the Victoria''s Secret Angels, Heidi made the transition from model *****permodel, joining the ranks of Yasmeen Ghauri, Tyra Banks, Helena Christensen, and Stephanie Seymour.
While Heidi appeared on the covers of such magazines as Bride''s, Cosmopolitan, Self, Glamour, and Mademoiselle, none could live up to the recognition Heidi received as 1998''s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl, an honor that models Vendela, Elle MacPherson and Tyra Banks had previously claimed.
Having made the move from supermodel to actress, Heidi has appeared as herself several times on the ABC comedy Spin City and hit the big screen with a minor appearance in the feature film 54, as a V.I.P. patron.
    always kissable klum
Presently signed with Elite Model Management, Heidi continues to model and pursue an acting career, which has blossomed in 2001. She made a cameo appearance in *** and the City, sharing the runway with Sarah Jessica Parker. She also had a relatively large role in the 2001 comedy, Blow Dry (which she has a lot of experience with, thanks to her family, career and husband).
Known for her down-to-earth personality and her sense of humor (she even yodeled when she first appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman), Heidi married celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino in 1997. The couple announced their separation in November 2002.
    Why men like her?
Heidi Klum is undoubtedly one of the most famous models in the world (and with no exaggeration, one of the most beautiful). Merely in her late-twenties, she seems poised for the kind of longevity in the business not often seen among the top fashion models, with endorsements and photo shoots coming at her as quickly as she jots them down in her Palm Pilot.
Her big break, of course, came thanks to the ultimate career-maker of covers: the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. It launched her career into the stratosphere almost instantly, and was one of the most successful covers (in terms of sales) in recent memory for SI. Of course, not everyone was happy about her success; Caprice Bourret was rumored to have had the inside track to the cover (and a boost in her career), until the SI e***ors decided on Heidi.
Ever since, Heidi hasn''t been far removed from the spotlight. As a regular Victoria''s Secret model, she is certain to get plenty of media coverage. She is at most of the major fashion runway shows, and is a regular guest on David Letterman and Jay Leno''s talk shows.
Heidi is also a part-time correspondent for several shows, most notably Entertainment Tonight. She has also started doing some acting, appearing on ABC''s comedy Spin City and in the film Blow Dry.
She has come a long way from her little village in Germany, and from beating out 25,000 girls in a national modeling contest. After countless covers, Heidi is still a hot commo***y among publishers, and we know why.

    personality & talent

What is instantly likeable about Heidi is her personality. It is such a refreshing change from the norm of supermodels, that you can''t help but feel she is putting you on. She is bubbly, not stuck-up, and making her laugh is as easy as sneezing.
Her joie de vivre is infectious, Heidi feels blessed at everything she has (as opposed to certain models who feel that they must have everything they want because they deserve it). She loves to joke, she''s kind to her fans, and is self-deprecating (i.e. a fan asked, "How much longer will you stay in modeling?" Heidi answered, "Depends on how good the wrinkling cream is working!").
She is, without a doubt, the friendliest supermodel around, which makes her even more attractive. It is still a surprising personality trait, since she has also faced rejection from critical photographers, casting agents, and e***ors. You''d think she would be jaded, but she isn''t since she loves being in the fashion industry. In fact, if modeling hadn''t worked out (how couldn''t it?), she would have tried her luck at being a designer.
    ***iness

Heidi Klum definitely raises the temperature in any room she enters. Quite literally, even a photo of Heidi gets our hearts racing. Though her perky personality can rub the shine off her *** symbol status, it doesn''t stop her from being one of the ***iest women in the world. When she married hairstylist Ric Pipino, a lot of men felt the quiet crunch of the hearts being broken (why do Australian men get all the beautiful women?).
    accomplishments & fame

Heidi''s recognition and fame are intricately related to her numerous jobs as a model. When you appear in Sports Illustrated 4 times, and on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Mademoiselle, L''Officiel, Vogue, Glamour, Self and Bride''s, you are bound to become known.
Her recent move into acting has also included hosting duties for MTV''s Fashionably Loud Europe. An acting career doesn''t seem that far away, but Heidi, stick to your day job and don''t forget how much you''ve accomplished in such a short time.
    natural beauty

Only in 2001 did People magazine recognize Heidi Klum as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the world, despite our yearly protests.
At 5''10", she is an imposing figure. She is all natural, with a 100-watt smile and a voluptuous figure that men really want. Curves, curves and more curves. We knew Germans are great at putting them on cars, but nobody mentions the impact of those same curves on a woman.
    personal style

She has an elegant and sophisticated style. She definitely picked up a lot of fashion pointers on the catwalk. When on vacation, she likes to wear casual clothing and no make-up, and frankly it doesn''t matter, she still looks fantastic.
