MS-PhD Scholarship at Database Lab, Computer Science, Kyungpook National University, Fall 2013

Professor Wook-Shin Han would like to recruit some Master or PhD positions for the Fall semester – 2013 at database laboratory, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kyungpook National University.

In recent years, we have published high-quality papers in top-venues such as SIGMOD, VLDB, and ICDE. The course and research for a Master or PhD degree in our lab will get involved in the state of the art database issues: graph indexes and query processing, financial time – series analysis, cloud database, web extraction, advanced query optimization.

Financial support:
+ For Master positions: the stipend is determined by your ability, work experience, performance; but usually it starts from 600.000 won/month
+ For Ph.D. positions: the stipend is determined by your ability, work experience, performance; but usually it starts from 800.000 won/month
Note that the living expense in our university regions is about 400.000 won/month.
If you show high performance, we can support you 30% of incentive.

Tuition fee:
You should apply for KHS (KNU Honor Scholarship) that cover 100% of tuition fees for two years.
KHS Qualifications: Students with the following English or Korean test score or above
TOEFL iBT: 85; TOIEC: 830; TEPS: 600; IELTS: 6.0; TOPIK: level 5.

+ Curriculum vitae (qualification, GPA, transcript…).
+ An official English score (Toefl/Ielts/Toeic).
+ Publications (if possible).
