Tell an event that you and your siblings get involve in.
I remember when I was 10 year old and my sister was seven. We were very young and very curious. When my parents were not at home, we always tried to go out by climbing through the back gate. Behind the gate is a small lane, which has one end to the playground and one end to Mrs. Nam ?~s home. Mrs. Nam sold many small things like gifts, food and candies. Her house was like a small grocery store. Her customers were mainly neighborhood children. We really liked to go to her house just because she loved children, especially us. We always bought something like chocolate or dry cuttlefish. Because we all went to school, my parents gave us a small amount of money so that we could buy something at school. However, we didn?Tt want to buy anything at school because their food was not delicious. One day, we got out of our house and went to Mrs. Nam?Ts home to buy a chocolate bar. Then we went to the playground to play with other children. My sister was telling me about her classmates and her teacher while we were walking slowly. Suddenly we heard a strange loud sound when we were passing by Mr. Tran ?~s house. In our childhood, we heard a lot of ghost stories from adults and children who had been told those stories by their parents. People rumored that Mr. Tran?Ts house was full of ghosts because they were his friends from war. We were innocent and curious about ghosts just because we didn?Tt know how a ghost could scare people. We were so curious that we approached the house and looked through the window. We couldn?Tt see anything because there was no one at home. I felt a fright through my ribs. I believed that ghost was very terrible and dangerous so I just wanted to run home immediately, but I was so scared that I couldn?Tt move. Amazingly, my sister wasn?Tt scared. She even knocked on the window. Perhaps, there was a cat or something wrong that we would never know but the noise created when my sister knocked on the window disturbed Mr. Tran ?Ts dog. It was very big and aggressive. It flung to us and barked loudly. I almost peed in my pants. But my sister saved us. She threw the chocolate bar to the dog and shouted, ?run!? .So we ran immediately and rushed into our house. After that, we laughed when thinking that the dog was chained up. I admired and loved my sister so much more because she was so brave and smart. Now we grow up and she always says that? brother, you are so brave! Please help me kill the ****roach in my room!?

Ways to save fresh water at home

When Columbus discovered America, he found it abundant of trees, animals such as deer, buffaloes and raccoons running free and wild and crystal clear, clean lakes and rivers. However, things have been changed greatly now. The rate of deforestation in America is steadily increasing. The trees are being mainly cut down for paper industry. Animals are impounded and hunted. Lakes and rivers are no more clean and clear. In the seventeenth century when industry was not developed, the water and the air were not polluted like they are now. In fact, human being mainly causes these problems. Hence, we, individuals, should find out some ways to save our environment from being deteriorated. Avoiding consumptive water at home and in the garden is one way that you can effectively help to save our environment.
Our environment is now facing some dangerous problems such as water and air pollutions, land erosion, having holes on the ozone layer and deforestation. Every year these problems are getting worse and they are the causes of some hazardous disasters and disadvantages such as flood, drought, famine, etc, to human beings. This is mainly caused by human. Everyday, people are not aware that what they are doing can harm the environment. For example: each individual wastes a small amount of fresh water for washing his or her car. The result of this wastefulness will be huge with a large number of people. This can lead to lack in fresh water in our community. Therefore, we need to be aware of how to protect and save our environment by recycling water, papers, plastic bottles, etc, joining environment protection organizations and changing their everyday habits.
Changing our wasting fresh water routines will not only create the balance between the fresh water available for us and the water we use but also set a good example for our children and others individuals. Everyday, we, individuals, waste a concrete amount of water. For example: when washing car, some people always keep the tap open. If they change their habits then the water saving will be accumulated in long period of time. Here are some illustrations: If we take a shorter shower or install a low-flow showerhead we can save between 500 and 800 gallons a month (Norwich public utilities). The number of water saving when we turn off the water while brushing our teeth will be about 100 gallons a month. Leaking faucets, toilets, or pipes make you waste water all the time. If we check for leaking faucets, toilets, or pipes we could save 10 gallons per day. (Green Corner Home). An individual who makes all those saving can reduce the cost of water use. The less water use also increases the natural water supply besides recycling water. This helps to maintain the balance of natural fresh water resource. Moreover, changing habits can set an example for your children and other individuals. Children copy actions and habits from their parents. Then in school, their friends can imitate their habits of saving water. Your neighbors also watch and follow the example of you. Therefore, you will create an effect on the whole community. The result in the environment then will be big. Thus, water saving not only makes benefits for an individual but also the environment.
There are many ways for individuals to save fresh water at home. Statistic says that toilet is the biggest household water ban***. The average toilet uses 5 to 7 gallons per flush (Arlington Earth Day). Replacing to low volume toilets, which are only about $100, will save over five gallons per use (Washington State University). Another suggestion for this situation if you don?Tt want to replace your toilet is placing a weighted plastic bottle in your tank to reduce
the amount of water used in each flush. You should check for leaks by placing a drop of food coloring in the tank. If the color shows up in the bowl without flushing, the toilet has a leak. Taking shorter showers is a good advice. Even if you prefer long showers, you still can find another way to save water. A low flow showerhead, which is only $10.00 will save 50 gallons of water during a 10-minute shower (Utah Gov). Most models have a shut off valve that will save even more water by stopping the water while you lather up. For bath lovers, there is also a shallow bath uses less water than a 10-minute shower. Placing a bucket in the shower to catch water help you reuse it to wash the car, water plants, or clean most anything. Saving water while washing dishes is also another way. You try to avoid keeping the faucet open all the time. If you use a biocompatible soap, you can re-use your wash water to water your lawn. Turning off the faucet when brushing your teeth and putting a plug in the sink when washing your hands instead of holding them under running water are strongly suggested. This small habit is clearly profligate. A pool cover is a clever way to reduce evaporation. Without a cover, more than half the water in your pool can evaporate over a year. When washing your car, you need to remember to turn of the faucet whenever you change your positions or do anything else. If your car is too dirty to clean then the most effective way is using a bucket or a trigger nozzle. If you need more saving then you should park your car on the lawn. This way you can save water, as we as water and fertilize your lawn because car shampoos use phosphates that are similar to many fertilizers. You should use the microwave to thaw frozen foods instead of placing them under running water. In brief, following these instructions, you will surely save a big amount of fresh water.
Garden, furthermore, is also a place that you can save much of water. When planting new garden beds, you should group plants with similar watering needs together. Using deep mulch and adding compost to your soil are some good suggestions. These will add nutrients and help to retain moisture and reduce evaporation. You had better water the roots and soil around the plants instead of spraying the leaves and flowers. Besides that, you need to water your garden in the cool weather of the early morning or in the evening to reduce water loss through evaporation. When mowing lawn, you should try to avoid cutting lawns too short, only the top third of the leaf area, and leave it three centimeters or higher. This way you can save much water from watering lawn because it reduces evaporation. In addiction, you should choose a lawn type, which is slow growing and water saving varieties like Palmetto. This type has deep roots for drought tolerance and doesn't need mowing as much as the others. Also, you would rather choose local native varieties and other water wise plants to attract wild life and take less maintenance and watering. Using a watering system, which installs drip irrigation or micro-irrigation system, to cut water wastage by controlling the water flow, and a tap timer to automatically turn the water off are other optional methods of saving for you. Switching from sprinklers to drip irrigation will help you save 70 percent on your water bill (Bruin Online). In short, saving water in the garden is really an efficient and easy way for each individual to contribute to the environment.
In conclusion, our environment is now facing serious problems. We, individuals, can help to save the environment by cutting of our fresh water wastage. This only require you a little change in your everyday habits. By practicing water conservation every day, you will reduce water needs, and preserve the health of our natural environment. Also you can set an example for other persons to change their habits to save fresh water. Furthermore, reducing water wastage brings us many benefits and following those instructions above only requires a little effort to achieve.

    Should college/university be smoke-free?
Tobacco smoke contains about 4000 chemicals including more than 40 cancer causing agents and 200 known poisons (University of Minnesota). More and more people smoke without knowing that even light smoking (fewer than 10 cigarettes a day) is also dangerous. Whenever a person smokes, poisons such as benzene, formaldehyde and carbon monoxide are released into the air, which means that not only are the smokers inhaling those poisons but also is everyone else around them. Many recent studies show that environmental tobacco smoke can have harmful effects on nonsmokers and even cause them to develop diseases such as lung cancer. Despite that, many smokers don?Tt know or don?Tt even care about that. We can easily come across smokers anywhere such as in a restaurant, on the street, in toilet or in school, whereas smoking students are increasing very fast. About 25 percent of all adults are addicted to tobacco, and about 3,000 youths become addicted each day. Although smoking is allowed in many public places and supported by smokers for many reasons, smoking should be banned in college/university campuses because it creates many negative effects on school environment, students?T academic performance and their health.
First, smoking does many negative effects on university/college environment. It makes dirty to the school environment and probably is the cause of fire accident. Careless smokers who don?Tt extinguish their cigarettes completely can make flames. A fire accident not only leads to loss of property, injuries and deaths but also emits smoke to the school atmosphere. In college, smoking students release cigarette ashes, the bacteria, and poisonous smoke in the environment. Tobacco smoke contains dirt particles that pollute the respiratory system. Tobacco smoke contains poisons such as carbon monoxide, which drives oxygen out of the blood. Irritation from the tobacco smoke can cause alveoli deep in the lungs to break. The more alveoli breaks, the less transferring of oxygen takes place. This will cause students to have less oxygen in their blood. For that reason, smoking students feel tired and out of breathe. Tar in tobacco smoke coats the cilia, preventing them from sweeping the lungs clear and broken alveoli reduces lung capacity. Then, those students will suffer those poisons and cough. When they cough, they release bacteria, poisons and dirty stuffs into the air and the atmosphere around them. Further more, they can infect people if they have a contagious disease such as flu. The bad odors created by tobacco smoke linger on. Long after students have left a smoke-filled room, they may still have the odor of cigarettes on their bodies and in the fabric of their clothes. This is because while certain chemicals created by burning tobacco cause bad odors, other chemicals actually help the odors to hold onto the surface that they come into contact. Thus, smoking not only makes school environment dirty but also probably creates dangers to it.
Second, smoking creates negative effects on students ?Ts academic performance. Students who smoke can face difficulties in seeking part-time job in order to afford their living and studying. In some workplaces, smoking is restricted because non-smokers don?Tt want to inhale secondhand smoke (The smoke that nonsmokers breath when they are around smokers is called secondhand smoke or environmental smoke). Students who smoke can waste a lot of money for smoking instead of for their study because it is an expensive habit. Cigarettes are heavily taxed; in most countries and states, tax accounts for most of the price of the average packet. For example: A pack-a-day smoker will spend over $1,300 a year supporting her addiction. (Minot State University). Some Texas legislators are proposing cigarette tax increases of 50 cents to $1 a pack. (ABC13 News). For a long period of smoking, smokers can spend a lot of money for their habit. Therefore, in college/university, students who smoke can waste a big money while they can use that money *****pport their studying. Besides that, smoking students can have health problems, which reduces their ability to study hard. Smoking also makes students distract from concentrating on lectures. They may miss some points in the lecture while busy with lighting a cigarette. Addicting to smoking can make student spend much time involve in playing and neglect to come to class. A research from a website of Boynton Health Service shows that young adults (18-22) enrolled full time in college were less likely than their peers who were not enrolled full time to report current tobacco use in 1999. As a consequence, it will be hard for them to avoid a bad result. In short, smoking shouldn?Tt be allowed because of those disadvantages it causes to students.
Third, smoking is hazardous to the health of people in school because it causes many diseases to people, especially pregnant woman and their babies. It causes diseases such as heart attack, breathing difficulties, asthma, headaches, and especially lung cancer. Cigarette smoke contains about 4000 chemicals including more than 40 cancer causing agents and 200 known poisons such as nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, arsenic, etc. With its poisons, smoke gets in your eyes, your nose, your mouth, and your lungs. Those poisonous materials accumulate little by little and then harm your health. We can also say that second-hand smoke is almost as dangerous as first-hand. Thus, whether they like it or not, a smoker 's associates are forced to inhale the smoke and be themselves smokers as well. Figures and facts in the UK shows that every year, about 120,000 people are killed by smoking, accounting for one fifth of all UK deaths (ASH). Students and staff in college may suffer diseases and their health will be in a dangerous situation. As a result, their performance will diminish. Further more, smoking students or teachers that are pregnant can inherit to their babies. Scientists say that the poisons of tobacco can negatively affect and remain in the DNA of unborn babies. Pregnant women have great possibility *****ffer dangerous diseases such as lung cancer. (Women Health Channel) Lung cancer is the second most women ?~s deadly reason after breast cancer. By the year 2000 fact, lung cancer represented for 25% deaths of women and caused about 67,000 women to die. (Women Health Channel) This site also shows that smoking is the main reason for heart disease, which is the most cause of deaths in America. Another fact from World Health Organization shows that every 10 seconds, someone dies from tobacco use (UCI Health Education Center). This source also claims that the significant damage caused to infants and children is from their parents who smoke, including reduced lung function, higher rates of bronchitis and pneumonia and aggravated symptoms in asthmatic children. Hence, both other students and staff members and the ones who are pregnant may take disadvantages in a smoking environment.
However, some smoking students oppose this argument. They believe that smoking is right because they don?Tt intentionally harm non-smokers. That is because they do not acknowledge about the harmful effects of secondhand smoke on non-smokers and the statistics of the damages they cause to them. More than 40,000 studies have demonstrated the harm done by smoking but surveys indicate that many Americans still don't know the dangers of smoking tobacco. Nonsmokers who live with smokers are more likely to have lung problems. The secondhand smoke gets into their bodies day by day. This will prove that smokers are wrong although they believe their actions don?Tt harm people because they strongly violate non-smokers?T rights to enjoy a healthy life. In school, smoking students who know about this may ignore and go on with their dangerous habit. Therefore, smoking in college/university should be forbidden because of the disadvantages it causes to people and the environment.
In conclusion, smoking should be banned in college/university campuses because it does many negative effects on school environment, students?T academic performance and their health. It causes diseases to smokers and non-smokers as well. Besides, it causes students who smoke possible affect their academic performances. Moreover, it costs smoking students a lot of money and makes them difficult to study. Therefore, smoking should not be allowed in college/university so that students can have a better study con***ion.

OVERCOMING PROBLEMS OF HAVING A DISTANT FRIENDSHIP
Imagine that you have a close friend and she is far away from you! How would you feel? Would you know that friendship is essential to human life? Friendship can be created among people at work, study, hobbies, habits or club, etc. Creating friendship is easier than maintaining it though, especially when one of you goes far away from the other. People who have to move far away from their homelands can lose the friendship of close good friends and have a lot of difficulties of maintaining the friendship, but there are surely ways to help avoid all of these problems.
Everyone seems to know how important having friends is. It is difficult to look for a good close friend. However, if you find one, that person can bring you a lot of pleasant moments. You can think of a close friend who can share her hobbies such as playing golf, collecting stamps, working out in the morning, shopping in the weekend, etc with you. Sometimes, you can ask her to watch movies, go shopping, picnic with your family, etc. Moreover, you can talk to her about your difficulties in work or she can confide in you about her husband or lover. She can also cheer you up when you are lonely and depressed. If your friend is your co-worker or classmate, then learning and sharing experiences can be mutually beneficial for both.
However, if one day one of you has to go to live far away from the other, you may have a lot of problems to maintain your friendship. People say "out of sight, out of mind". Living far away from each other would prevent you from direct meeting, spending time together, having fun and most importantly communicating. Your friend might think that you have forgotten about her while actually you are busy with your work or school. If you live in different nations, the differences in the time zones can also make you difficult to contact your partner. The result might be that you misunderstand each other. Moreover, getting angry and arguing would be very difficult for you to explain and reconcile with your close friend. Besides that, living in new country, people adapt to new culture. So the dissimilarities of environment of study, work and living cause you no longer be able to keep your former habits, hobbies and opinions and then little by little it will change you to a normal acquaintance or stranger of your partner.
Thus, it is hard to build and sustain a distant friendship. But there are many ways to maintain the precious and meaningful thing that life offers us. The key is that both friends need to keep in touch with each other. You shouldn't let work fill up your mind. You should try to preserve your friend?Ts image in your brain. Bringing and keeping gifts from your friend is one effective ways to make friendship stronger. This will remind you of the fond memories that you had together. Although distance is a disadvantage for you, many communicating methods such as email, chatting and web cam, etc can help you to see and to hear from your close friend. It is even better if you can arrange to visit each other as much as possible. The more you interact directly, the stronger your friendship will be.
In conclusion, the role of friendship in our life is essential to our living and having a distant friendship is difficult to maintain. Especially international students who have to live far away their families and friends, the friendship makes them stay away from loneliness and depressed. Then this can improve their academic performance. The theme is that you should make efforts and have a good belief then you will receive good result.

    Hi zerocool_destiny,
Are these assignments for your writing class?
Your childhood experience is very funny. I had the same experience with my neighbor's dog when I was little, therefore I can relate your story to mine. However, you were lucky to run away from the dog. I was not that lucky, though.
I remember that morning, I left home very early to go to a nearby park. At the same time, my neighbor took her dog for a walk. Soon after I got out of my house, the dog saw me and immediately ran after me. It quickly caught me and started biting my leg. I fell to the ground and cried loudly. Hearing me cry, many people ran to me with sticks in their hands. The dog was chased away.
I got a an ugly scar on my leg as a result of that. Many years have passed, and the scar has faded away. However, as someone once said, "Once bitten, twice shy", I'm forever scared of BIG strange dogs. I love small ones, though.
Thanks zerocool_destiny for sharing your beautiful memories. Your story reminds me of my childhood. Whether happy or sad, childhood is always the best time in our life, right?

Linux: the better choice of OS for server systems than Windows NT.
?oThe Linux development community has since grown very large because of its inclusive style of open source software development.?(Carr). That is true and Morgan Stanley in May 2001, used Linux in its Network of approximately 6000 severs and 36500 desktop and laptop computers which linked to more than 50 sites on the Net to enhance its IT performance and reduce costs (Wade 9). Many companies are now converting their server operating systems to Linux. The choice now is not always Windows NT anymore because of its weaknesses and the proprietary policies of Microsoft. There is another big option: Linux, the much more powerful operating system (OS) than Windows NT in the graphic user interface (GUI), the cost and the security issues.

First of all, it is clear that Linux have the better GUI than Windows NT. Linux is an open source operating system based on Unix platform. That means application runs on one system and the result can be displayed in another system whereas everything in Windows NT executes local. This shows the weak point of Windows NT because if there is a crash, users cannot do anything except reboot the computer while Linux?~s owners just simply kill the application that causes the problem from another system (The Linux Tutorial GUI). Reboot is also a disadvantage of Windows NT because ?oEven insignificant changes to a Windows NT configuration require or request a shutdown and reboot in order to make the changes take effect?(Randolph). Linux users can simply configure and make changes to their system without such problem because ?oconfiguration done by e***ing files, syntax?(The Linux Tutorial GUI). Moreover, having options to select and turn off the GUI, Linux administrators can configure and monitor their systems better than Windows NT users who have to work with default point and click GUI that Microsoft provides. And because this GUI is point and click, they cannot modify the kernel system as much as Linux users who can explore the system by command line GUI. Also, the strong point of Linux?~s GUI is that it provides each application different appearances and behaviors. For example, users can create an appearance with red menu, white background and gray status bar for their e***or and another blue menu, black background and yellow status bar for their DSL program. They can also set their e***or to display for specific user X?Ts system and DSL for user Y?Ts system. Meanwhile, Windows NT users must have the same window for every programs running on it. The list of the superior features of Linux to Windows NT ends with two things: First, Linux?~s GUI has several managers such as webmin, linuxconf and tools provided with KDE for users while NT?Ts owners have to get along with Windows Manager. Second, Linux?~s GUI can be handle with less memory, 8MB in comparison with 24-32 MB, than its competitor ?~s one (The Linux Tutorial GUI). In brief, with more advanced features, Linux attracts users more than Windows NT.

Next, the battle of price has chosen the winner and it is Linux. This is because Linux has almost everything free. Since Linux is open-source, people can download Linux on the Net for free. ?Red Hat, the best-known Linux company, sells the operating system and other open-source programs in a box for $80, though you can download their product for free from redhat.com?o(Thompson 291). If users don?Tt want to pay even a penny, they can download the applications from many websites. Meanwhile, Windows NT users have to pay for everything from the operating system to the spyware. For example, it is too expensive if users have to spend $700 on one server and $2700 on 10 workstations working with it. Also, Microsoft issues policy to force users to pay for client access and the cost for 10 machines is $370. Linux, on the other hand, charge only $30 for one server if they want to have the license, or else, downloading is free (The Linux Tutorial Cost). Even email sender software is included free in Linux but Windows owners must pay for Microsoft Exchange Server in order to have this feature. ?Sendmail is included free with Unix, whereas the standard Windows NT does not come with e-mail server software. Microsoft Exchange Server, frequently used as the e-mail workhorse for up to 50 clients, can range in price anywhere from $3549 to $4859? (Randolph par.6). Indeed, these figures are very high and show the big variety between Linux and Windows NT. Moreover, Linux have better performance in the field of servers and have a good policy of server cost. Microsoft forces users to pay for every computer installed Windows NT but Linux doesn?Tt and this is the strong point of Linux. For example, Ann Harrison confirmed in Software Magazine, September 1998 that South Western Bell had lowered the costs when using Linux, ?Randy Kessell of Southwestern Bell notes that because Linux allows his company to do more remote network administration and software loads than with either Microsoft or Netware products, it has driven down their network management costs? (Randolph). Yes, Linux have more features than Windows NT in server field. In ad***ion, Linux can run as either server or workstation with a little configuration. With Windows NT, if users want to change from workstation to server, although this is about configuration and the operating system is the same, they must pay for that. So, using Linux, users can avoid the proprietary policy of Microsoft and save a lot of money. In ad***ion, inexperienced users can be supported free for the initial 60 days from Linux official site or completely free from other community Linux sites such as the community of Beowulf developers, Linux Newbie, Linux Doc, etc. Microsoft supports their customers only if they spend $195 per incident. (Randolph par.5). The other thing I would like to add is that when users upgrade one of the components, Microsoft provides packages for all of them and users have to pay for those packages even though they don?Tt want to upgrade and pay for the other components (The Linux Tutorial Cost). Linux, in other way, doesn?Tt issue such policy and of course, upgrading is free. In short, Windows NT has been defeated in the field of cost by Linux.
Last and most important, security issue is the most debating between Linux and Windows NT fans; however, Linux users can feel assured of their systems rather than their competitor?~s ones. This is because Linux is based on Unix, which first created for network. So, when Linux was created, it was focused on security for network very much. Windows NT, on the other hand, doesn?Tt have sufficient concerning about security. Eric Schultz, director of Microsoft Content for Security Focus complained that the default installation could permit hackers to obtain a lot of information including accessing to ?oblank administrator passwords, disabled security policies, and weak permissions over critical system files?(Elinor). Windows applications are vulnerable to be hacked. ?oMicrosoft has been getting a lot of bad press lately over security vulnerabilities in Internet Explorer, Office and Hotmail, among other softwarê?(Elinor par.1). Linux is less expensive when running on the same PCs than Windows NT; nevertheless, it is also reliable and has many advantages that its opponent doesn?Tt have. The standard attack on any system is ?odictionary attack? and Linux can easily avoid this because it has many checking tools embedded such as Netwatch. Meanwhile, Windows NT doesn?Tt have any tool to check this. In ad***ion, it is more secure because Linux helps keep track on system logging. In other words, administrators can also check if a new user has logged in and change the default password. This can be done automatically by writing a script in Linux but Windows NT environment doesn?Tt allow this feature because users have to access the hidden registry. Based on executing program, Windows generations have a big hole that allows Trojan horse to get in. Also, ?ohidden and/or undocumented APIs or features that can give hackers backdoors into Microsoft applications? (Elinor par. 24). For outside attacking, Linux has a built-in firewall while NT users, again, have to pay for this extra feature. This sometimes doesn?Tt as good as Linux because Linux?Ts firewall is better and it is suitable for Apache, the most popular server which runs Unix OS. The last thing about this issue is ?The most dangerous are pre-installed Active X controls which contain functions that can be executed on a computer but run without digital signatures used by other Active X controls? (Elinor par. 20). This helps hackers to backdoor and gain administrating access to your computer through their Active X executions on your systems. So, to get rid of the worry of security, Linux is the number one choice.
In conclusion, Linux has been developed to prove its power in the server field. It really goes over Windows NT?~s head in the three issues: GUI, cost and security. Although in these current days, Linux and the other open source operating systems are behind Windows NT. ?oLast year, Linux became the second most popular server operating system, behind Windows NT, according to International Data Corp.? (Carr). However, with the proprietary policy of Microsoft and the disadvantages of Windows series, it will be soon when Linux overthrows Windows NT in the server battle. That is more and more open-source model such as Linux will be used because the connectivity became greater with the Net and the speed of the computers is faster. That will be the day when open-source operating systems and softwares spread through our servers on the Net. Therefore, choose Linux for today and gain benefits until then!

For many years, marriage has been one of human-beings?T instincts. Humans think marriage as a natural thing and that helps them to maintain generations. However, the more society develops, the more controversial things that human wants to debate. Marriage is not a special case. In the past, humans thought about marriage in believable way that they should and must get married. Today, some people think it is not necessary to marry. They prefer to be single or cohabitation. Cohabitation means two unmarried opposite-*** people living together. Humans?T rights and development of society lead to many opinions about this motion. This essay will let readers know the reasons why human-beings need to get married. It will also consider some of the arguments for unmarried relationship in order to give readers 2-sided view points and then point out some problems with this view.
One of the main points in supports of marriage is men and women can build up their families. It is obvious to say that family always plays an important role in society and is a kind of social expression. Ohio University stated that ?oThe marital relationship provides the primary physical, emotional and physical support for parents? (Ohio University, 1998). Within a family, the man and the woman can live together and procreate a baby that is very important issue of family which is thought to be bridges between generations. According to US Government, relationship between parents and children in married parents families is more stable than cohabiting couples because parents usually spend lots of time with their children. It can be argued that cohabiting couples can live together and procreate children as well as married peers. However, it is only partly right because although having abilities to live together and procreate children but these ways of living are not legal and can lead to many negative effects on children. Terry Smith, minister to young adults and young families, said that children who grow in unmarried parents families, are likely to divorce or become unmarried parents (Smith, 2002). They have poorer developmental outcomes than others who grow up in married parents families (Deleire and Kalil, 2002). Gallagher, a nationally syndicated columnist, said that ?ochildren lead healthier longer lives if parents get and stay married? (Gallagher, 2000). Therefore, the opinion of having children without marriage can be wrong in many points of view. Why don?Tt we give them the best that we can. It is clear that there is a close relationship between married parents and children. By getting married to create legalized families, not only children have good con***ions to grow, but also married couples have good emotional feelings and physical supports.

Another point is marriage can help people have good ***ual lives and that leads to many benefits. Married couples have a more satisfied ***ually life than singles or cohabiting couples (Gallagher, 2002). As people know, *** is a mere need of the body and it helps humans balance between health and healing system. It also improves humans?T health and contributes to humans?T longevity (Fiore 1994). Moreover, ***ual intercourse impacts upon overall health, happiness and sense of wellness in many positive ways (Lytle, viewed 37/03/2003). It might be said that cohabiting couples can be just as satisfied ***ually as married couples, cohabiting couples can love just as much as married couples without responsibilities. However, it is not true. Without responsibilities, cohabitors need to solve problems by themseleve when they are broken. This can make cohabitors feel less secured than married ones. Plus, they can be less sure about their partners?T faith. The reason of being less likely to be ***ually faithful let cohabiting couples be worried about ***ual transmitted diseases more than married couples are (Niolon, 2002). Furthermore, pregnancy is one of the hardest problems to solve. Because of no legalized commitment and no financial responsibilities, baby is unexpected thing. Cohabiting couples can even worry when they have ***ual intercourse. The more pressure they have, the less ***ually satisfied they are. It is obvious to say that marriage helps married couples have good ***ual life, better than cohabitors.
The last support of marriage is good for human-beings?T mental health and emotional well-being. ?o40% of married couples, compared with about 25% of singles or cohabitors say they are ?overy happy? with their life in general? (Gallagher, 2002). Gallagher said that marriage promotes health and well-being of both adults and communities. Married couples see their relationship more stable than cohabiting couples do. They could be less worried about being betrayed than cohabiting couples are. It is claimed that cohabitation is better than marriage because cohabiting couples are not tied by responsibilities but human-beings emotional feelings and love. After getting married, people have to live and deal with many responsibilities. The more responsibilities they have, the less emotional feelings they give to their spouse. However, as Waite said, a sociological at the University of Chicago, cohabiting couples are more depressed and less satisfied with life than married couples (Waite, 2000). Cohabiting couples do not have any legalized commitment to stay together. They seem to be less likely to monitor each other?Ts health (Niolon, 2002) that can lead to lack of feeling of being cared and secured. They are uncertain about stability and longevity of their relationship and can worry about their relationship?Ts breaking. And in fact, it is not so hard for cohabiting couples to be broken because cohabitors still have their freedom and as was stated before, they are not tied by responsibilities. According to National Marriage Project, which has mission to educate American public about marriage by providing research and analysis, Median duration of cohabitation is 1.3 years (National Marriage Project, 2002). Moreover, cohabiting couples don?Tt have responsibilities to give supports. So, that reduces the usefulness of support during difficult times (Waite, 2002). The more troubles cohabiting couples have, the more depressed and anxious they are. Undoubtedly, married couples have good mental health and well-being.

In conclusion, it is obvious to believe that human-beings need to get married. Married couples have many advantages that unmarried couples do not have, in order to have better lives. Marriage is not only one of human?Ts instincts but also opportunities to build up their lives in their own ways. Only in this way human beings can keep their generations in good con***ions. They support good con***ions for their children to grow up, they have good ***ual lives and they have metal health and emotional well-being than single peers. Although marriage is not perfect, it still has many positive points for us to believe that human-beings need to get married.
