Diesel-electric Submarine

The Project 636 submarine is designed to engage submarines, surface combatant ships, protect friendly naval bases, sea coasts and lines of communication, carry out reconnaissance missions and land reconnaissance groups.

The main feature of this submarine is the extremely low noise level. Merging with natural sea sounds, she is capable of detecting adversary submarines at a range 3-4 times greater than they are able to detect her.

This feature together with powerful and accurate torpedo weapons ensures the first find/first kill capability in duel situation.

Most of submarine systems operate automatically and can be controlled from the main control room console.

It has considerable reserve of buoyancy and keep afloat even if one of the compartments and two adjacent tanks of the one-side ballast are flooded.
The submarine operates in all climatic zones.
