Shinoda has full support from Linkin Park, whose singer, Chester Bennington, is also working on a solo album.

Fort Minor Asian Tour 2006

For all hip-hop fans out there, Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park and his five-piece Fort Minor line-up will be performing live in Asia from February 24 to March 1, 2006.
The Rising Tied was only released last November 2005, but it has achieved massive sales in Asia within two months. The Rising Tied has spawned the international single "Believe Me" and the U.S. single "Petrified." Executive Produced by Jay-Z (who collaborated with Linkin Park on 2004''s Collision Course), The Rising Tied is produced and mixed by Shinoda, who wrote every track, played nearly every instrument and "slaved over every detail."
According to Mike Shinoda, "the band is called Fort Minor, instead of my name because there are a bunch of other people involved in the project. But I only wanted to work with family and friends; people that I feel are really close to me and we see eye-to-eye. Besides that, Fort has a militant meaning and Minor in music is a smaller, darker, sadder note, so the name is a reflection of the music." Aforementioned in Fort Minorâ?Ts "Remember The Name" -- "It''s not about the salary. It''s all about reality and making some noise."
