Những album được nhiều tạp chí đánh giá cao

Xuất hiện nhiều trong các bảng xếp hạng uy tín, đó là dấu hiệu cho thấy đó có lẽ là album hay, đáng để nghe.


Gần đây, một blogger tên là Beck Chris là một người nghe nhạc lâu năm và là một người biết đọc các tạp chí phê bình uy tín cũng như những cuốn sách về Rock do các chuyên gia có tên tuổi trong giới phê bình viết.

Từ các nguồn đánh giá uy tín như vậy, blogger nói trên đã tổng hợp lại xem những album nào được nhiều nguồn đánh giá cho là “greatest albums of all time” (album vĩ đại của mọi thời).


Từ đó, Beck Chris đã lập lên một danh sách rất đáng để tham khảo mà tôi sẽ post sau đây. Bạn chú ý sau mỗi album có một cái mở ngoặc, trong ngoặc là số lần xuất hiện trong các tạp chí uy tín.

Bài viết này xin được dành tặng cho toàn bộ thành viên của thế giới Rock Hà Nội (gồm rock artists and rock fans Hà Nội và miền Bắc) những năm 1996 – 2004 và một số người yêu nhạc/chuyên gia phê bình thế hệ trước của tôi ở hai miền Bắc và Nam (là những người mà tôi tự nhận là học trò), những người đi tiên phong trong việc giới thiệu nhạc hay ở nước ta, bao gồm 1- Cao Vân. 2- An Khang (không biết anh có còn bán hàng đĩa nhạc nghệ thuật ở phố Bảo Khánh gần Hồ Gươm hay không) và 3- Trí Quyền ở TP Hồ Chí Minh. Với tình yêu và niềm biết ơn sâu sắc.

Là một người yêu nhạc và quan tâm nghiêm túc đến các bảng xếp hạng (list) của các tạp chí uy tín trong nhiều năm, tôi luôn để ý xem album nào được đánh giá “xuất sắc” (best albums) và “kiệt xuất” (greatest albums) để tìm nghe.

Bên cạnh đó, tôi chỉ nghe những album mà mình tin là có nghệ thuật. Vì thế hoàn toàn khác với danh sách của Beck Chris tôi có điểm khác là có loại đi không ít albums mà tôi không tin đó là nghệ thuật đích thực, lấy ví dụ như 1 album là “Slippery When Wet” của Bon Jovi bị loại thẳng tay. Rồi “Rubber Soul” của The Beatles cũng bị loại.

Vì vậy, dù không hoàn toàn chuẩn xác, có thể còn thiếu không ít, có thể sót một vài albums mà chưa được thực sự hay. Nhưng list này là sự cố gắng cao nhất của tôi để giới thiệu đến các bạn những album mà theo tôi, có giá trị về nghệ thuật.

Còn nữa, khác với Beck Chris chỉ quan tâm đến những tạp chí phê bình lớn. Trong list của tôi có đưa vào những albums của các freelancer critical website about music mà tôi biết – những tạp chí và những nhà phê bình độc lập, các chuyên gia phê bình mà tôi tuyệt đối tin tưởng về tài năng của họ.

Với hy vọng là lần đầu tiên ở nước ta được biết đến những gì là thực sự có giá trị, tôi làm list này với niềm tin tưởng - rằng - dần dần ở ta các thế hệ nghe nhạc nối tiếp nhau sẽ điều chỉnh, bổ sung, sửa đổi list đầu tiên này (vì có thể còn thiếu không ít) và xây dựng lên một list hoàn chỉnh về những album nhạc đích thực có giá trị để chúng ta giảm phần nào khó khăn khi mày mò tìm kiếm trong biển cả âm nhạc mênh mông nữa.

Hơn nữa, tôi thực lòng hy vọng rằng, cũng như tôi các bạn có thái độ xem xét những album nào là thực sự nghệ thuật bằng cách tham khảo nhiều bảng xếp hạng quốc tế, các tạp chí cũng như các chuyên gia phê bình độc lập để chọn nhạc để nghe. Thậm chí tôi đánh giá rất cao những độc giả nào nghi ngờ list này.

Có một điều tối quan trọng là, khi nghe một album mà bạn hết sức tin tưởng lả một greatest album nhưng lại không thấy hay thì chưa chắc đã phải là nó không có tính nghệ thuật cao mà có thể vì một trong hai lý do: 1- Tạm thời bạn chưa thích nó, cứ gác lại đã để sau này có dịp nghe lại hoặc 2- bạn không cảm nhận được cái hay của album này trong khi người khác lại cảm nhận được, điều này là bình thường vì ai cũng vậy, có thể cảm nhận được album này là kiệt tác nhưng album khác rõ ràng người khác đánh giá cao nhưng mình nghe cũng yêu thích nhưng không thể hay bằng album kiệt tác kia được. Đơn cử một ví dụ, có lẽ tôi vô duyên với album “Live At The Applo” của Jame Brown.



Điều lưu ý cuối cùng là : có thể có nhiều bạn hỏi tôi rằng “Trên đây là những album mà bạn tổng hợp theo các tạp chí và các chuyên gia phê bình uy tín. Còn bạn, cá nhân bạn đã nghe nhạc lâu như vậy thì theo bạn đâu là những kiệt tác nghệ thuật thực sự” .
