    FANDI AHMAD

Earlier in 1982, Fandi was offered a place at Ajax Amsterdam after a trial, but he rejected it due to his difficulties adapting to the language and lifestyle. However, he did move to the Netherlands a year later, joining FC Groningen (1983 to 1985) in the Dutch football league (Eredivisie). Groningen qualified for European football for the first time in 1982, and Fandi helped them in a dramatic European debut by scoring twice in a shock win over Spanish giants Atlético Madrid. He also scored once against Inter Milan in the UEFA Cup, helping Groningen to a 2-0 victory. In 2003 Fandi was named in the best eleven of the century for FC Groningen. He made a big impact in Groningen that still lives on today. Now he is became a coach at Pelita Jaya Purawakarta in Indonesia Premier League

    .Kurniawan Dwi Julianto(Indonesia)

Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto (born July 13, 1976 in Magelang, Central Java) is an Indonesian footballer. He normally plays as a striker and is currently the player with the most caps and goals for the Indonesian national team with 33 goals in 60 appearances.

Often called by the press and people as kurus (literally means "slim") because of his slender posture. One of his finest moments was at the 2004 Tiger Cup, in the semifinal match between Malaysia and Indonesia. Indonesia was trailing by one goal at half time, but Indonesia managed to do an impressive comeback which started when Kurniawan scored a goal. Indonesia went on to win the match 4-1 and advancing to the final of the competition.

He was one of an elite few Indonesian football player that has played in Europe. For a brief period of time he played for Sampdoria Primavera. During that time, he was the top scorer in the league and competing head-to-toe for the title of top-scorer with Italian legend [Alessandro del Piero]] and both Juventus(Del Piero''s team) and Sampdoria were going for the scudetto (Ironically in the end, the scudetto was awarded to AC Milan and Giuseppe Signori won top-scorer). However, problems with the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) hindered him to play there. He later played for FC Lucerne of the Swiss Football League for a while before returning to Indonesia. He is first Indonesian footballer play and scored a goal in Intertoto Cup ( a level below UEFA Cup ). He is currently playing for Persitara. Other Indonesian football teams he played for include PSM, PSPS Persebaya, Persija, and PSS.

Football analysts in Indonesia agree that ever since coming back to play in Indonesia, Kurniawan never achieved the same level of playing like he did when he was still in Europe.

During his playing days in Alor Star plying his trade for Kedah, Sundram helped Kedah to defeat Singapore 2-0 in the final of the Malaysia Cup. He was widely regarded as the most skillful player in the history of Singaporean football.

He was nicknamed ''The Dazzler'' at the height of his prowess and ''King Cobra'' when he was the player-manager of Jurong FC. During Singapore''s run-up to the 1994 Malaysia Cup triumph, Sundram was one of the most influential players in the team.

    Bambang Pamungkas(Indonesia)

According to Bambang''s agent in Europe, Anthony van Dalen, there are several clubs in Europe that want to give him try-outs, such as Roda JC Kerkrade from Holland, and FC Koeln and Bayern Moenchenladbach from Germany. But Bambang doesn''t let dreams take over his career, and he decided to join EHC Norad, a Third Division club in Holand. It''s better for him this way, because now he''s almost guaranteed a starting place in the lineup rather than always being on the bench had he decided to go for the top clubs. Moreover, by playing in the lower league, he''ll have an easier time to adapt to European-style football.
After a year played in Ducth he doesn''t want to continue his contract and go back to Indonesia.after that he got an offer to play in Malaysian League with the Selangor FC..in his first year he won treble(premier league,FA Cup,Malaysian CUp) and became a top scorer with 24 goal in 24 matches in Malaysian Premier league witha total of 39 goals in 3 competitions(malaysian league,FA cup,Malaysian CUp)

With a height 170 cm, it''d be foolish for opponent players to underestimate this player who idolizes his striking partner in the national team, Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto, for Bambang is well-known for his aerial prowess. His jumping is very high and his heading accuracy is a nightmare for any goalie.

Before playing for the Indonesian senior national team, he played for the Central Java junior team and was chosen Most Valuable Player in 1996 Haornas Cup, a special tournament for teenage football. He was also the top-scorer in the national team for Asian Cup U-19 Group V, packing in 7 goals. Paulino Alcantara(Phillipines)

Paulino Alcántara is the all-time leading goalscorer for FC Barcelona, with 357 goals in 357 games. He is considered one of Barça?Ts legendary players because of his goalscoring exploits. He lacked the build of a stereotypical athlete, but he possessed the killer instincts of a matador. This offensive machine knew where the goal was and often made sure that the ball was in it.

Alcántara was born in Iloilo on October 7, 1896, to a Spanish father, who was in the Spanish Army that was stationed in the province. He began playing football at a very young age and took a liking to it. In 1910, he travelled to Barcelona to continue his education.

While in school, he played for a club formed by his classmates, called ?oGaleno?. But his heart belonged to Barça, and he ended up joining their youth squad, where his talent made an immediate impression. On the evening of August 14, 1912, at 15 years of age, Alcántara made his debut with Barça?Ts first team, the professional team. He scored three goals in an 8-2 win.

From 1916 to 1918, Alcántara went back to the Philippines. During this time, he played with a team called the Bohemians of Manila and the Asian Games with the Philippines National Team.

After coming back to Barça, he played defense, an unusual position because he was accustomed to scoring goals instead of preventing them. The British coach, Jack Greenwell, made the decision to play Alcántara outside of his normal role. His decision was short-lived. Barça?Ts club membership demanded that Alcántara be switched back to his normal position. The supporters received their wish. Alcántara went back to scoring goals on a usual basis.

In 1920, Spain selected him for the Olympic team, but he turned down the offer because of his medical studies. Since school was his priority, he only represented Spain in international football competition five times. He scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Belgium in his first international match at the age of 25. He also played for the Philippine National Team. Alcántara is on record as being the first player from Barcelona born outside of Europe to represent Spain in international football competition. In 1922, during the game France-Spain, he shot so hard to goal that the ball perforated the net. Since then he was known as ?obreak nets?.

He officially retired on July 5, 1927. The Spanish National Team and FC Barcelona played that day a friendly game in honour of Alcántara. At age 31, he felt it was time to dedicate his life to his profession. But it was not a definitive goodbye to football as a whole. He was managerial with diverse presidents of the FC Barcelona, from 1931 to 1934. Besides, he briefly served on the coaching staff of Spain?Ts national Team in the 50s ?"three matches against Switzerland, Belgium and Sweden. He won one game and tied the other two.

    Paulino Alcántara died in Barcelona on February 13, 1964. With his goalscoring titles, he also won five Spanish Cup championships (1913, 1920, 1922, 1925, 1926) and 10 Catalonia championships (1913, 1916, 1919, 1920. 1921, 1922, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927).
