    The Beatles perform at the Kaiserkeller Club, Grosse Freiheit,
    Hamburg, West Germany.

    1961
    The Beatles perform a lunchtime show at the ****rn Club, Liverpool.

    1963
    In Sweden for their first foreign tour, The Beatles spend the first
    day at Karlaplansstudion in Karlaplan, Stockholm, Sweden. They
    record a performance for a radio program entitled "The Beatles
    popgrupp fran Liverpool pa besok i Stockholm", which means "The
    Beatles pop group from Liverpool visiting Stockholm". The Beatles,
    enthused by the chance to play before an audience that wasn't
    screaming, and wanting to make a good first impression in Sweden,
    put on a terrific show during the taping of seven songs, "I Saw Her
    Standing There", "From Me to You", "Money", "Roll Over Beethoven",
    "You Really Got a Hold On Me", "She Loves You", and "Twist and
    Shout". Appearing on the same program is a local group, Hasse
    Rosen & the Norsmen. Broadcast on November 11. Five of the songs
    performed by The Beatles are included on "The Beatles Anthology 1":
    "I Saw Her Standing There", "From Me to You", "Money", "You Really
    Got a Hold On Me", and "Roll Over Beethoven" (Disc 1, Tracks
    30-34).

    1964
    The Beatles, on a tour of Britain, perform two shows at the Granada
    Cinema in Walthamstow, London.

    1965
    The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios,
    London). They spend the entire session working on Paul's song "I'm
    Looking Through You", but will end up re-recording the song in its
    entirety in November. This day's version will be released on "The
    Beatles Anthology 2" (Disc one, Track 15).

    [J] 1969
    UK release of John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band single "Cold
    Turkey/Don't Worry Kyoko " (Apple). The flip side is a Yoko Ono
    song. 6 weeks on the charts; highest position #14.

    [P] 1969
    Paul McCartney is interviewed at his farm in Campbeltown,
    Argyllshire, on the Mull of Kintyre in northwest Scotland. Paul
    speaks with journalist Chris Drake, confirming that, despite
    widespread rumors to the contrary, he is very much alive. Portions
    of the interview are broadcast on October 26 and October 27.

    John Lennon sues the US Immigration and Naturalization Service
    under the Freedom of Information Act, trying to obtain
    documentation that would show the political motivations and
    predetermined judgements behind the deportation proceeding against
    him. John also hopes to find documentary evidence of illegal
    wiretaps being placed on his phone lines.

    Release of John Lennon compilation LP "Shaved Fish" in the US
    (Apple) and the UK (Apple). Songs: "Give Peace a Chance"
    (fragment), "Cold Turkey", "Instant Karma (We All Shine On)",
    "Power to the People", "Mother", "Woman Is the Nigger of the
    World", "Imagine", "Whatever Gets You Through the Night", "Mind
    Games", "#9 Dream", "Happy Xmas (War is Over)", and "Give Peace a
    Chance" (fragment - recorded live at Madison Square Garden, NY on
    Aug. 30, 1972). In the US it will spend 13 weeks on the Billboard
    chart, its highest position #12.

    UK release of John Lennon single "Imagine/Working Class Hero"
    (Apple). 7 weeks on the charts; highest position #6.

    1978
    Re-release in Sweden of Beatles double LP "The Beatles" (Capitol).
    The "White Album", on white vinyl.

    [P] 1979
    Paul McCartney is honored by the "Guinness Book of World Records"
    as the most successful composer and recording artist of all time.

    UK release of John Lennon/Yoko Ono single "(Just Like) Starting
    Over [John]/Kiss Kiss Kiss [Yoko]" (Geffen).

    1980
    UK release of Beatles compilation LP "Rock and Roll Music Vol. I"
    (MFP). This is a re-packaging and reissue of Disc One from the
    Beatles compilation double LP "Rock and Roll Music" released in
    1976 by Parlophone.

    1980
    UK release of Beatles compilation LP "Rock and Roll Music Vol. II"
    (MFP). This is a re-packaging and reissue of Disc Two from the
    Beatles compilation double LP "Rock and Roll Music" released in
    1976 by Parlophone.

    1988
    US re-release of Beatles albums "Past Masters Vol. 1" and "Past
    Masters Vol. 2" on vinyl double LP (Capitol/Parlophone).
    Previously available only as two separate CDs.

    [G] 1988
    UK release of Traveling Wilburys CD and LP "The Traveling Wilburys
    Volume One" (Wilbury/Warner Brothers). The Traveling Wilburys
    were, on this album, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Tom
    Petty, and Jeff Lynne. Songs: "Handle With Care", "End of the
    Line", "Margarita", "Dirty World", "Rattled", "Last Night", "Not
    Alone Any More", "Congratulations", "Heading for the Light", and
    "Tweeter and the Monkey Man".

    UK re-release of Beatles CDs "Past Masters Vol. 1" and "Past
    Masters Vol. 2" on double LP (vinyl) and double cassette (tape).

    UK release of various artists album "Stay Awake: Various
    Interpretations of Music from Vintage Disney Films" (A&M). Ringo
    Starr appears on one track, "When You Wish Upon a Star", which is
    one of a medley of songs from "Pinocchio".
