We have the greatest turnout today for our online meeting. I heard that the other groups were doing really well, and so was mine. My group has Tao_lao (who left early for WC - I mean World Cup , MyNuong, NhatThanh, and Kiddi85 (new member.)

We talked about cheating in school, in work, and in love.

For cheating in school, it has been a serious matter for a long long time. MyNuong is happy to help her friends if they ask several questions, but not everything. NhatThanh is quite uncomfortable because he has no cheating technique We all think that in the important exams like the university entrance one, cheating should not be practised at all. MyNuong said someone asked her during this exam though, and she helped, that person helped her in another question too. I

guess she''s pretty lucky that the person did not give her the wrong answer - which you may have heard of before as a mean reaction. I would either give no answer or the right one, not the wrong one to harm people. But it happened elsewhere, which is a reason why people don''t ask anyone in the university entrance exam. They''re afraid to be cheated

Then Kiddi brought up a very interesting question about cheating in love: if your friend has feelings for the girl you know and knows that you''re in love with that girl, is that considered cheating? If he doesn''t confess that to you, is that cheating? Hard questions.... None of us really has experience in this, but MyNuong says that if she has to face such a situation, she will try to hide her feelings and get over them. Nice

Well.... sometimes we develop affection for our friend''s lover, which is pretty common. We see someone taking great care of someone else, we see good characteristics that we appreciate, etc. - but they are not love. It''s crucial that we do not confuse ourselves -- just try to find a way about it.

The next scene of cheating that we see a lot recently is cheating in work. PMU-18 and VN Airlines are the popular cases. My group thinks that severe punishment like death sentence (which Singapore uses for bureaucracy) may have to be practised. If being expelled is applied for cheating in school and death sentence in bureaucracy, the amount of cheating will be dramatically reduced.

However, Kiddi thinks a strong foundation and development of DIGNITY is the most sigfinicant thing every individual and group should build. Sure thing! Since education plays a great role in creating personalities and supporting dignity (not destroying it), NhatThanh recommends that education itself has to adjust to serve the true purpose of educating, not putting pressure about grades and fame on our children, not getting the highest prize as the best teacher. Teachers who give students fake grades in order to get those high prizes are cheating the students also, and more seriously, cheating themselves.

David Callahan wrote a book called "The Cheating Culture" which examines lots of cheating cases in the US (I wouldn''t read this thick book if it weren''t chosen as my Class Book ) Cheating Culture is definitely a culture which should be eliminated! It''s a disaster if this culture gets more of its history and heritage....

We also mentioned of the white lie, which is a kind of "good cheating." The most typical example is whether a doctor should tell a patient the truth if this patient will not live for much longer. Kiddi chose not to, since it may bring the patient down even more. MyNuong and NhatThanh, however, want to know the truth.

I thought a lot about this, and figured out that I myself would also wanna know the truth. It is harsh and hard, but if I know exactly how long the last week/months/years of your life last, I''ll have the kind of freedom to do the things you may have been afraid to try before. Don''t you think?

*****m up, the conference went smoothly, and we had a good time. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and enjoy World Cup! All best.

Group 1: truecolors, giandi_xinhxinh, Lea, King
I was so lucky this time, to be in a group with 3 gorgeous ladies whose voices are sweeter than honey of the queen bee. Actually, I chose my own group. That is just one of the privileges I have being a host. So join the meeting and take away my position if you want these advantages
Let me introduce about these 3 girls since they are practically new to SEC. First person is Lea, a friend of Satori whom I just knew last night. She is 20 years old and majors in marketing. The second lady in our group is truecolors AKA Zip. She has had 22 birthdays before and her field of study is accounting. Last but not least is giandi_xinhxinh. She is not really a new member (she actually joined SEC before I did), but this is her first time participating in the online meeting (finally bought your microphone eh :P) . She is same age as truecolors and studying at the University of Foreign Trade.
So much for the introduction, now let''''s move on to the goodie stuff.
This is first time ever that our conference went absolutely perfect. There was no technical problem whatsoever. The voice quality was crystal clear that I could actually hear the giggles of the girls (awh awh drooling...)
We all confessed that we have cheated at least once in our lives. However, the degree of cheating and the reasons are varied among the members. Of the 4, Lea seemed to be the most honest one (at least academically. For relationship, I''''m not sure). She continuously emphasized on the point that cheating in school will hurt the student sooner or later. What values to her is the knowledge she acquires and not the grades that are truly important. That is a very considerate thought, isn''''t it? Lea said that she only cheats on the insignificant subjects like the history of communism or geography. Knowledge of those materials are not important for her future career.
Phuong (giandi_xinhxinh''''s real name) is an honest person too but she is more tolerate in judging cheating. She claimed that some people cheat because they have reasons such as not having enough time to study, the subject is too hard or/and too unrealistic, and so on.
When we were discussing about methods people use to cheat, truelcolors pointed out some very clever ways. One method is copying the materials and minimizing them. Then the student can tape the notes under his/her shoes, or under the table. Another way is to write the notes on the table or the papers, then erase them afterward. (This is how I cheated most of the time, hehe ). Phuong also provided another method of using the "magic" pen. This pen can write invisible words and it has a light to reveal the words. (I gotta get one of these soon).
Later, we talked about what the school should do to prevent students from cheating. Once again, Lea pointed out that it all depends on the student''s judgment and characteristics. For their own good, they should never cheat. In America, many professors let the students create their own "cheat sheet." This is a one-page note that the students can write whatever they want and can use that on the test. I think this is a very effective way since it is fair for everyone. Other solutions can be enforcing tougher punishments for students caught cheating or making new exams for each semester.
Well, there were many other stuff that we discussed but I couldn''t remember them all, since my brain only has a few more megabytes of storage left . I just hope that my group members will chip in any missing parts that I forgot to mention.
My final thought: this is the best conference that I have ever had since the online meeting started. The topic was fascinating and the members were esthusiastic and friendly. Even Skype treated us well. So everything just went very smoothly. Thank you all participants for this wonderful online meeting and I hope we''ll have more meetings like this one in the future.

Heheh, I love that "cheat sheet", especially in Maths. Before each single test and exam, my friends and I formed a Math group study (which was one of the warmest memories with friends during my freshman year here )
We would go over formulas and try to use them precisely in different kinds of problems. The cheat sheet just helps us to organize them and kind of makes us feel "safe". Honestly, we all don''''''''t look at it that much during the actual exam. But still... we love to have it.
So you know how I felt last time during my Econ mid-term... 100 multiple-guess questions, 2 essays (2-page each). After almost 3 hours, we turned to zombies. No cheat sheet! Aww...
Should we encourage this use of cheat sheets though? I am fine with it (and without it), but do you think it should or should not be used? (Just another thing to discuss )

Ok, it''''s my turn to report for the 3rd group... i am writing in the Lonely music background.. let me sing .. (lonely)x3, lonely lonely in my life, (lonely)x3 help me help me *****rvive ... um.. that''''s my favourite song...
Okey, last night, our group had 5 members : BIG BOSS DIMI, Miss Gatihon Thy, Mrs Chomchoc (sorry, I dont know yr nick in SEC) Phương, Mr KyAnh (not a boy not yet a man ) -a newbie, and me-a clumsy person of SEC
We started the discussion not smoothly like others..
We joined into Skype with 5 members, but after several minutes, maybe Thy''''s microfone had a problem so she couldn''''t speak more although listened to us very well.. what a pity! She tried to fix but it almost not work so she left us. KyAnh is an enthusiastic newbie. He answered all questions and asked everybody very friendly. He is studying in University of Science Society and Humanity (Am I wrong in writing ur Uni? , sorry if yes ) He is 20 yrs old, um.. very young. Is he a youngest person in SEC? Phương (Chomchoc) has a 3-year-old-baby and working in Đẹp Magazine. I think she is very cute, too . She''''s an attractive woman with her voice, yeah.. very sweet (I am so ashamed of my manly voice ) Big Boss was the host but after that, when Holland vs Bờ Biển Ngà took place, she left us alone .. but we can sympathize for her loving to Holland
We haven''''t discussed all questions yet. We just mentioned cheating in school plus some tricks and in office. Dimi was a good student when she was in high school, she always learned by heart all subjects and rarely copying (opposite to me, I hate learning by heart ) I showed one of my unforgettable experiences to them : letting the notebook on the ground and opening it by big toe although the teacher sitting nearby me but he didn''''t know hehe. um... that was in Physics exam of my 12th class
After our Big Boss left, we remained 3 persons : KyAnh, Phương and me. We just gossiped together. At 11pm30 P had to go to bed with her child.
Still having KyAnh and me, we debated cheating in love. Then, we quickly ended the discussion because of I was very tired from my trip and it was KyAnh''''s bed time, too.
The conversation ended at about 11pm40.
That''''s a nice online meeting for me to know 2 new friends : Mrs Chomchoc and Mr KyAnh ! Tks for ur joining in SEC
    Best regards, all !
