Xin lỗi các bác, tiếng Anh của tui tuy kém nhưng lại hay thích ti toe. he he
Tui có 2 anh bạn Tây tên là Ibrahim và Dacosta. Tui mới đọc một câu chuyện, trong đó có nhân vật cũng tên là Ibrahim. Tui muốn nhờ các bác dịch ra tiếng Anh để tui đưa anh ấy đọc, nhân tiện hỏi ý nghĩa cái tên của anh ấy (Dacosta có nghia là đứa con của biển cả).

"Có một bộ phim Liên Xô cũ năm 1960 kể về một câu chuyện tình tại Turkmenistan. Lúc đó duới sự cai trị của đế quốc Mông Cổ vào thế kỷ XIII. Có hai chàng trai tên là Zambolad và Ibrahim cùng yêu một cô gái tên là Fatima. Khi triều đình bắt đi lính, vì Zambolad là của nhà quý tộc nên bị bắt ra trận. Còn Ibrahim là nông nô nên chủ giữ lại. Có tin là Zambolad đã chết trên chiến trường nên Fatima chấp nhận cưới Ibrahim. Nhưng sự thực là Zambolad chưa chết mà anh ta chỉ bị quân địch bắt làm tù binh. Vượt ngục thành công, hắn ta quay trở lại quê hương, thấy Fatima đã là vợ người khác. Cơn ghen nổi lên, hắn bèn ám sát Ibrahim."

This USSR (?) film describes a moving love story in Turkmenistan in XIII century under Mongolian reign. Two men, Zambolad and Ibrahim, both fell in love with a girl. Her name was Fatima.
When war broke out, Zambolad, being a nobless (?), had to join the army. Ibrahim, on the other hand, was a serf. Thus, he stayed home and worked in the fields.
As for Fatima, only when Zambolad was away from her, did she realize how much she loved him. Therefore, in spite of Ibrahim's proposals, she decided to wait for her man to come back.
Unfortunately, rumors came that Zambolad was killed in the front. Desperate and heart-broken, Fatime agreed to become Ibrahim's wife. Zambolad, in fact, had not died. He was only kept prison by the enemy.
As for Zambolad, when he was in the prison, he missed Fatima so badly that he tried to escape and return to his country. Finding out that Fatima had belonged to Ibrahim, Zambolad was burned with rage. In a fit of jealousy, He killed Ibrahim.

There is an Soviet film, circa 1960, about a love story in Turkmenistan. The story goes like this : Around the 8th century, under the occupation of Mongolian imperialist, there were two young men, Zambolad and Ibrahim who both loved the same girl named Fatima. Since Zambolad worked for an aristocrat; he was drafted and sent to the frontline, while Ibrahim, being a villein , was spared. When rumor came back that Zambolad was killed in the war, Fatima agreed to marry Ibrahim. In fact, Zambolad was still alive and was only taken as prisoner by the enemy. Later, Zambolad escaped and returned , he found out about the marriage. Jealous, he killed Ibrahim.

The was a Soviet film made in 1960 which describe a love story in Turkmenistan - the country, at that 18th century, was under the rule of Mogolian reign. Two man, Zambolad and Ibrahim, both felt in love with a girl named Fatima. The war broke out, Zambolad, as a noble man, was forced to join the army while Ibrahim, as a bondman, just stayed home and worked in the filed. Fatima then accepted to marry Ibrahim since rumor about Zambolad's death was heard. Infact, Zambolad was not dead but was prisoned by the enemy. Having successfully escaped from the dungeon, Zambolad came back home, but just to see Fatima as Ibrahim's wife. Being in a mad fit of jealousy, Zambolad killed Ibrahim.

I've been following your romantic monologue thread in the Du Hoc forum and is a big fan of yours . You have an uncanny ability in turning simple thing into a beautiful romance novel. My hat's off to you.
I meant every words in my compliment, on your translation. No sarcasm intended. Your kindhearted soul has touched quite a few peoples, me included.
Had it not for your tremendous talent, you would not earn a well-deserved spot in San Jose State University . So, I guess my compliment is unnecessary .

I owe you a reply : Yes, I am very young ... at heart. Age-wise, not so young. I graduated from University of Maryland, class of 1988 . I am quite in awe with the creme-de-la-creme of the younger generation : you, tweety, CRX, Shpts , .... I've been there, done that and know how tough it's . Fresh off a plane and was thrown into a very competitive , foreign academic environment and everyone (family at home) expect you *****cceed . Not counting cultural shock, language barrier, surviving economically and socially is, in itself, extremely difficult . If you are not the best of the bests, you will succumb . Excel in that challenging environment speaks volume of you and the du hoc sinh VN . You guys make me so proud of my heritage. ... Uh-oh , I've been digressing too far....

nếu theo Brit biết thì điều tối kỵ nhất đối với người tây là chuyện thu nhập. Tốt nhất là không nên hỏi. Người ta sẽ cho là mình rất vô duyên, vì Brit đã từng nghe nguời ta phàn nàn về thói quen này của người Vietnam (tất nhiên Brit không điên mà đi hỏi, nói chuyện thì người ta nhận xét thế thôi).
