Pls help me, Idea for English speaking club????

Dear all,
I will be in charge of a English Speaking Club. I want to know what can I do to attract people (especially students). Can you give me any suggestion for this club??
The first topic maybe something about LOVE and CAREER.

I dont know what kind of your English Speaking Club is, but I can give some opinions. You can find them useful or not, it''s up to you.
Firstly, to make your ESC more popular, you should make something call advertising. Print a piece of advertisement and leave it everywhere even toilet (not kidding i''m serious). The more people can read, the more popular your ESC is.
Secondly, you should major in 1 topic only in 1 time, maybe LOVE or CAREER, should not both, because people will have more time focusing in that topic.
In ad***ion, you can ask for a master about that topic. This master has to be known by the audience (students as you refered) and has to have a friendly speech.
Moreover, you have *****ggest some interesting plans that the club is going to have, what the members can get and can donate for the club, organize to go out everyweek or everymonth to help members have more chances to know each other... The most importance is you should do everything in English (you may have a translation following)....

Thanks for regarding my opinions. If I were one of your club members, I would not suggest LOVE or CAREER (they have been talked about so much). I think you can discuss topics such as ABORTION, HEALTH CARE, BOOKS...
You should define what the topics mean first, how do they effect the society....
Now I can suggest you 3 topics above. I can suggest more later, if you are not satisfied with them.

in my opinion , in ad***ion to very old and tra***ional topics like love and career , U may try some hot ones such as terrorism , SARS and bird flu ... U may consider to make them a topic mentioning about catastrophes !!
some that is up-dated and may concern members !!

Thanks for your suggestion. I know that''s old, very old topic. I also think about another one. But my Boss told me to make out a Topic relating to Love or Career. Oh..

Although people said a lot about love and career, I think these 2 topics will always be "hottest" in every discussion. Therefore, I think it''s OK for you to held a meeting of your E club.
Prepare some papers for your members with opened question and suggestion, or sth like that, and try to make the atmosphere of the meeting become hotter every time by question, votes or quick tests.

So why dont you tell your boss to make out a topic himself/herself ? That''s silly ! If your Boss wants you to organize this club, he has to let you decide yourself.
Anyways, I have just got this idea. If you want a topic relating to LOVE, you can discuss LOVE in a novel or a movie. How was that love ? True love or love for another aim ? How many people were there who were effected by that love ? How were they effected...
