I quite not understand what the first topic mean. Can you explain more clearly ?
The second topic sounds good. But I''m not sure until I get clear both topics

I think, if you have to give out a topic about LOVE & CAREER, you can consider this one "Ex-lovers, friends or enemies?", or "Should my lover also is my colleague?"
The first one can be your main topic and the second can be used as a sub-topic.....

The topic "Ex-lovers, friends or enemies?" may not attract people who have never love. The second one sounds more attractive but not very interesting.

Is ur club available for children or adults ??
If most of them are mature enough to talk about love ( so old ), why don''t u try something new to talk about COHABITATION !!

The day before yesterday, I''ve handled the Topic to may boss. The Topic was "To be successful in an Interview". I thought that members could have many chances to talk about it. Besides, we can have lots of activities at the club. Next time, I''ll make the topic about Past loves for my club. Tks again.

There re lot of topics you can talk about. Here re some that i ve come up with : Education, Culture, Politics...,etc. And from each of those areas, there re plenty of things you might discuss as well.
The easy way to find out the topic for ur E.C. is reading on BBC, CNN. You can also talk about hotest news which is happening on all over the world such as: war in Iraq, gay marriage, China claimed over our islands...etc.
Basically, the key *****ccess of monitoring an E.C is how to increase the number of member. Its impossible to promote ur club in a toilet like someone said above.(people dont think its serious to see ads about an E.C. in a dirty place like that). They even think that you re telling them about another toilet which is cleaner, for instance...hehe
You must know who could be ur member (students must take the large number, i guess). Then for sure, you will know where to find them.(high school, universities, colleges,...etc).
You can even go to some English Centers, invite foreigner teachers to come for short presentation. I am sure that at least 2 out of 3 who you invite would not mind to give you 30 minutes or more to talk with students.
