The trial in Baghdad of former Iraqi leader, Saddam Hussein, has been suspended until after parliamentary elections. The elections will take place on Thursday. The trial is to continue on December 21st.
Saddam Hussein is on trial with seven other men. The charges involve the killing of more than one hundred forty people from the Shiite town of Dujail, north of Baghdad. They were executed after an attack directed at Saddam Hussein in 1982. Gunmen from a Shiite party fired at the a vehicle in which he drove rode through the town. The Iraqi leader was rescued after several hours of fighting. Later, his security forces attacked Dujail. They destroyed houses, and businesses, and took away most of the men. Many never returned.

Another is Taha Yassin Ramadan. He was vice president from 1991 to 2003. A third defendant is Awad Haman Bander Sadun. He was chief of Iraq?Ts Revolutionary Court. He signed death sentences in connection with the Dujail killings.
A group of five judges will decide the case. A chief investigating judge questions those who give evidences in the court. So far, no those witnesses have described watching close family members being questioned, tortured and killed. They have told how security forces destroyed crops and properties property in Dujail. Hì hì, mình chưa làm nghề nhưng đã mắc bệnh nghề nghiệp, cứ thấy cái gì dính dáng đến ngôn ngữ là hay thắc mắc này nọ. Mình chỉ nêu ra một vài quan điểm của mình sau khi đọc bài viết của bạn Thiên Vương thôi. Có gì sai các bạn cứ góp ý thoải mái nhé
_ Bạn Thiên Vương nói rằng bạn cố tình sử dụng những từ ngữ cũ nhằm mục đích "ôn cố, tri tân" : nhắc lại cho cả những người đã biết và chưa biết. Tuy nhiên mình nghĩ rằng có nhiều cách để chúng ta học những từ như vậy: qua sách vở, đài, báo, ti vi,qua những người đã biết hoặc qua 1 topic nào đó về những từ cũ hay được sử dụng ngày xưa(tất nhiên là topic này sẽ không thuộc box tiếng Anh mà sẽ thuộc box tiếng Việt)....
Còn bài dịch của bạn Thiên Vương là bài dịch một bản tin tiếng Anh sang tiếng Việt, vì vậy mình nghĩ rằng cần phải đảm bảo được tính thời sự cho bản tin. Chúng ta dịch 1 văn bản tiếng Anh ra tiếng Việt không chỉ nhằm mục đích để đọc hiểu văn bản đó, mà mình nghĩ rằng việc tập dịch như vậy sẽ giúp các bạn tăng khả năng dịch của mình. Có thể việc này sẽ giúp ích cho nghề nghiệp của các bạn sau này. Chính vì thế chúng ta phải biết lựa chọn từ 1 cách chính xác, bởi mình nghĩ rằng nếu chỉ dịch văn bản này ra để hiểu nó thì các bạn ở đây thừa khả năng để hiểu nó bằng tiếng Anh.
_ Điều thứ 2 mình muốn nói là: chúng ta nên phân biệt giữa việc sử dụng ngôn ngữ gần gũi với đời thường và việc sử dụng văn nói trong 1 văn bản viết. Về câu nói của SH với vị quan toà, bạn TV dịch là " Ông đi chết đi", mình nghe cứ là lạ. Bởi mình thấy trong cuộc sống bình thường, mình chỉ nghe nói là " chết đi", "cho mày chết"...chứ ít khi nghe thấy là "đi chết đi", có lẽ ở chỗ bạn TV ở người ta hay nói như vậy.
Sau khi đọc đối chiếu 1 số văn bản dịch Anh- Việt, mình thấy là đôi khi dịch chúng ta phải dịch thoáng 1 chút. Không phải là văn bản gốc viết như thế nào thì chúng ta phải dịch y sì như thế, mà có thể thay đổi 1 chút về cách diễn đạt, về ngôn từ để cho văn bản " việt" hơn, miễn sao là các thông tin trong văn bản tiếng Anh không bị sai lệch là được.
Theo ý mình, câu mà SH nói với quan toà, chúng ta không cần dịch mà chỉ cần nói là "SH đã có những lời lẽ thoá mạ( hoặc xúc phạm, nghe thoá mạ có vẻ hơi nặng nề) quan toà".
Đấy là những ý kiến cá nhân của mình thôi, còn các bạn thì sao? Hãy cho mình biết ý kiến của các bạn nhé.

Trước hết, TV xin được cảm ơn sự quan tâm của cô giáo. Nhất là tự ý vào "lớp" mà chưa xin phép vẫn không bị cô giáo đuổi. Không biết tại cô giáo tốt bụng hay tại TV tốt số nữa?
Bây giờ thì TV sẽ hồi đáp vấn đề của cô giáo cho khỏi ...thất lễ ha!
Thật tình thì TV cũng không biết nói sao cho vẹn toàn. Vì nói đúng thì không được, mà nói sai cũng không xong (sợ cô giáo buồn đó mà! Vì cô ước tính đúng tới hơn 50% thì khó quá!... Thôi thì, có đúng, có sai vậy! (Chẳng hạn như, xem phim thì đúng, mà bị ảnh hưởng thì sai đó!)
Trăng bao nhiêu tuổi trăng già?
Núi bao nhiêu tuổi gọi là núi non?
Nếu dùng 2 câu ca dao VN này mà nhận xét thì không biết TV trẻ hay già nữa.
Còn đem tiêu chuẩn mà cô giáo gọi là "đặc điểm của người không trẻ" ra mà so sánh thì cũng không được. Vì TV có được đặc điểm này là nhờ ...thọ giáo của cô giáo đó! Thấy cô giáo sửa bài cho mọi người rất tỉ mỉ nên TV phải ráng bắt chước thôi! Nhưng mà chắc còn phải theo cô giáo thêm một thời gian nữa mới có thể học được tính nhẫn nại và kiên trì, nhất là tấm lòng khuyến học bao la của cô giáo đó!
Nói như vậy vì TV thấy cô giáo bận trăm công, ngàn việc của đời thường, còn dành rất nhiều thời gian để vào đây mở lớp, giúp cho không biết bao nhiêu người. Thật là khả kính! Khả tụng! (không những vậy mà khi sửa bài cô giáo còn tận tình giúp cho từng người nữa. TV thì cho rằng sửa một bài là đủ để các bạn khác tham khảo rồi!)
Do vậy, nếu dùng tiêu chuẩn này mà ...phán, thì chắc cô giáo cũng phải ...ngoài tầm ...7x, 8x luôn rồi! (Với trí tuệ và phong cách làm việc thì không có gì phải bàn thêm. Nhưng với cách nói chuyện ...thì không ai dám bảo cô là một người ...không còn trẻ cả! Không biết TV nhận xét vậy có đúng không?)
Còn việc TV có vài lần sử dụng ...đó mà!...thì cũng dễ hiểu như cô giáo hay nói.....rùi, thui ..v..v... chỉ là tạo thêm sự thân tình, hóm hỉnh mà thôi!
Về vấn đề "phản ứng" của các bạn thì ...phản cũng có, mà ...ứng cũng có. Nhất là các bạn còn trẻ nữa. Vì vậy, không có gì đáng nói. Tuy nhiên, qua việc này TV nhận thấy cần phải làm cái gì đó. Và cuối cùng, TV nghĩ rằng mình có thể kèm theo những bài viết trong này một số câu danh ngôn Hán văn, rồi tuần tự diễn giải cho các bạn cùng hiểu thêm về ngôn từ trong tiếng Việt mà ta sử dụng hàng ngày. Vì tiếng Việt mình có thể là một ngôn ngữ duy nhất trên thế giới mà khi học xong ai cũng có thể viết được nhưng đôi khi lại không hiểu được gì cả những lời mà mình vừa viết.
Chẳng hạn như hồi đó khi học sử ta vẫn viết dễ dàng được bài thơ của Lý Thường Kiệt dùng để tuyên bố chủ quyền dân tộc:
Nam quốc sơn hà nam đế cư
Tiệt nhiên định phận tại thiên thư
Như hà nghịch lỗ lai xâm phạm
Nhữ đẳng hành khan thủ bại hư

...nhưng lại không hiểu gì cả, hoặc chỉ hiểu lơ mơ mà thôi nếu chưa xem qua bài dịch.
Điều này là một minh chứng cho việc tồn tại ...hùng hậu...của chữ Hán trong Việt ngữ, mà khi loại bỏ đi thì không biết tiếng Việt còn được bao nhiêu chữ nữa. Ví dụ câu:
Cộng Hòa Xã Hội Chủ Nghĩa Việt Nam
Độc lập - Tự do - Hạnh phúc
...từng chữ một đều là chữ Hán.
Đã biết được sự tồn tại của nó thì muốn thật sự am hiểu ngôn ngữ của mình, đương nhiên ta phải học thêm và trau dồi thêm cho thấu đáo tường tận. Và chỉ có như vậy thì khi làm công tác dịch thuật ta sẽ có thể dịch uyển chuyển hơn và nhất là chính xác hơn. Hạn chế được sự ...."tam sao, thất bổn".
Hay ít ra, trong đời thường, nếu hiểu được đôi chút về từ ngữ mình sử dụng, ta cũng có thể tránh được những lỗi lầm không nên có. Chẳng hạn như 2 chữ "ẩu tả". Vì không biết nguồn gốc nên người ta thường gọi là cẩu thả. Và vì không biết ý nghĩa nên người ta đôi khi sử dụng như một tính từ careless bình thường đối với tất cả mọi người, thậm chí ngay cả người trên của mình.
Nguyên nghĩa của nó là như sau:
Ẩu là ói, mửa
Tả là đi tiêu chảy (ta vẫn thường nghe dịch tả đó!)
Đây là tên một căn bệnh do thời tiết gây ra. Khi một người bị bệnh ẩu tả thì người đó sẽ "thượng ẩu, hạ tả" rất là tùm lum, bê bối. Do vậy, khi ai làm việc bừa bộn, bê bối người ta nói ...làm ẩu (tả) quá! Làm như người ta ...ẩu, tả vậy! Nếu đem câu này mà dùng với người lớn thì thật là ...thất kính! Phải không các bạn?
Nói là như vậy, tinh thần cũng là như vậy, nhưng TV vẫn còn e dè vì đây là trang luyện nghe Anh văn, xen vào cũng kỳ kỳ. Nhưng xét thấy khi học bất cứ điều gì, đôi khi ta cũng phải ...thay đổi không khí một chút. Và để tránh mất thời gian chuyển đổi, TV thiết nghĩ việc viết thêm vài câu "lời hay, ý đẹp" cũng không đến nỗi ...khó coi cho lắm. Do vậy, nên mới ...xin phép...cô giáo nè!
Dạo này, người ta làm cái gì cũng cần Demo. Vì vậy, TV sẽ viết thử vài câu cho cô giáo và các bạn tham khảo nhé!
