High Oil Prices and the World Economy
This is Charbonneau with In the News in VOA Special English,
This week, Crude Oil traded briefly as a record 68 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Prices are up about 50% from last year. With inflation considered, prices are still below what they were in the early 1980, then crude oil sold for well above 18 dollars a barrel. But in dollar terms, this is the most that the world?Ts largest economy has ever had to pay. In some areas, prices at fuel station are almost as high as Americans have ever paid, even with inflation.
The Energy Department said this week that crude oil prices remained very high, even though supplies in the United States are growing. Oil supplies generally decrease at this time of year because of seasonal demand. Officials say the reason built up should keep prices from being as high this winter as they might be without it. On Friday, Central Bank Chairman: Alan Greenspan has praised for the way the economy has dealt with high energy cost: So far, he said, It?Ts a handle the soft rise in prices for oil and natural gases over the past 2 years, reasonably well. But, economists said the International Monetary Fund in Washington have void concern about the World Economy. On Thursday, The Managing Director warned about the risk to economic growth in Asia: Rodrigo de Rato urged Asian Central Bank to use Monetary policy to fight inflationary pressure cost by quite oil prices . He directed his comments especially to Indonesia and the Philippines. The high cost of oil has slowed Indonesia economic growth.
Many issues can affect the oil prices. For example, on Friday, Nigerian officials ordered increase in the prices of fuel, there were fear of general strikes. Nigeria is the world?Ts eight largest exporter of oil.
Terrorism is another concern for oil traders, but even the weather can sabotage the industry. This week, there were concerns about the possible risks to Oil production in the Gulf of Mexico from the ocean storm: Katrina. However, industry experts say the biggest concern is growing world demand for oil. The United States and China are the top two users. A report this week said China imported 15% more crude in July than a year ago. Crude oil becomes fuels and other products. There are questions about the ability of oil producing nation to meet growing demand. Some experts believe that Saudi Arabia oil fields may have reached peak production. This is when more than half of recoverable crude has already been pumped out. Saudi Arabia denied that.
Earlier this year, the International Monetary Fund called for more openness to confirm the supply of the world top oil producer. Currently, Saudi Arabia produces more than 10 million barrels of crude a day. It said it expects to produce more than 12 million barrels daily by 2009.

từ giờ trở đi các bạn cứ copy bài của mình rồi nghe theo băng. Chỗ nào thấy sai thì sửa (giống kiểu test Tiếng ANh thông thường ấy mà). Làm kiểu này đỡ mất thời gian mà hiệu quả lắm. Hehe.

Thực ra thì ngay từ đầu mở topic này, mọi người đã làm như vậy. Tức là người nghe thứ hai sẽ copy bài ghi của người đầu tiên, mở bài đọc lên và vừa nghe vừa sửa lại theo những gì mình nghe được. Làm như vậy thì người khỏe nhất là Maroon , vì Maroon chỉ việc sửa bài nghe cuối cùng là xong, khỏe re con bò kéo xe. hehehehe. Mà nếu đã làm thế rồi thì ko thể biết được ai sai nhiều nhất cả, vì cứ người sau sửa bài cho người trước mà, nên coi như yêu cầu thứ 2 của thandieu ko thể thực hiện.

nhưng làm như thế những người nghe sau sẽ thụ động , có những từ họ không biết, và cứ theo người trươc, SAO CHỊ MAROON KHÔNG ĐỂ MỌI NGƯỜI NGHE HẾT XONG RỒI PÓT BÀI MẪU LÊN, MỌI NGƯỜI SẼ PHẢI TỰ SỬA CHO MÌNH, LÀM THẾ CÒN NHỚ HƠN

Các bạn làm thế nào Maroon ko có ý kiến, vì việc học là của các bạn, người thụ hưởng cũng là các bạn, tiến bộ nhanh hay chậm là do tự các bạn quyết định mà thôi. Tất nhiên là khi luyện nghe dựa trên 1 bài đã có sẵn thì ko thể tốt bằng tự mình nghe lấy và ghi lại rồi. Dù Maroon có bài viết mẫu nhưng mỗi khi post bài mới lên cho các bạn là Maroon cũng tự nghe và gõ lại, sau đó mới so lại với bài gốc (và thấy mình cũng còn nhiều thiết sót lắm). Và cũng có khi bài văn mẫu lại không khớp với phần audio của nó nữa, nên Maroon fải đích thân kiểm tra mới an tâm (chứ để các bạn khiếu nại thì xấu hổ lắm).
Theo ý của Trang là vào ngày hạn chót (tức thứ 4 hàng tuần), Maroon sẽ post bài nghe chuẩn lên để mọi người tự sửa bài lấy, chỗ nào thắc mắc hoặc ko đồng ý thì post ý kiến lên để cùng tranh luận, các bạn thấy thế nào, có đồng ý không. Mọi người cùng biểu quyết nhé.
Thú thực là nếu số lượng người tham gia ngày càng nhiều thêm thì một mình Maroon sẽ bị quá tải . Mọi người cho ý kiến nhé.

Công nhận đúng là khi mới gia nhập,mình cũng thấy có đièu gì đó ko ổn. vì khi người đầu tiên post bài thì những người tiếp theo sau sẽ bị thụ động hơn,và có những chỗ như Maroon và minhtrang nói sẽ ko biết mình sai có nhiều lỗi ko.
Tuy nhiên,cái gì cũng có tính chất 2 mặt của nó,vậy mong chị Maroon nhỉ,chỉ cần sửa bài hoàn chỉnh vào ngày thứ 3 hoặc thứ4 tuần sau thôi,còn các ngày khác thì tranh luận về idiom và các từ nghe sai.

Hic... chị Maroon mà không sửa bài trực tiếp thì chán lắm!!!
Cần phải tìm ra một giải pháp khác chứ việc post bài mẫu vào cuối kỳ em thấy không hay lắm . Em sợ rằng như thế sớm muộn Box này sẽ die mất!
Theo em cần phải có một chị Maoon nữa! Ai xung phong nào?
Không thì thế này đi: người được sửa sớm nhất sẽ phải sửa cho những người tiếp theo. Sửa xong sẽ ghi ra số lỗi mắc phải( bị quệt vàng). Sau mỗi tuần chị Maoon sẽ tổng kết và khen ngợi những người có số lỗi ít nhất. Như thế sẽ tạo ra không khí ganh đua ! Chị Maroon và các bạn thấy ý kiến của em thế nào?

hix hix, chị cũng đồng ý với Hùng nữa. Vì nghĩ lại nếu bài mình post lên mà chẳng ai thèm ngó ngàng đến thì chán thật.
Chuyện nhờ 1 bạn đã đc sửa bài sửa cho ~ bạn khác cũng khó, vì có khi bạn đó ko online nên chẳng biết bài mình đã đc sửa rồi, mà nếu ngồi chờ thì thôi để Maroon làm 1 mình còn nhanh hơn. Hùng muốn ''quy lỗi ra thóc'' hả, nhưng có nhiều loại lỗi à nghe, lỗi chính tả, lỗi chấm phẩy, lỗi viết in hoa viết thường ... thế mà còn bắt chị ngồi đếm lại từng lỗi sai thì có mà giết người à, ác thế
Kể cũng khó há, thôi thì cứ tiếp tục như từ trước tới giờ đi, tức chị Maroon sẽ chăm chỉ sửa bài cho từng người nhưng sẽ kèm theo hạn chót nộp bài. Ai nộp sau sẽ phải tự sửa bài lấy.
Từ nay trở đi hạn chót nộp bài sẽ là hết ngày thứ 3 (Tuesday) hàng tuần.
