A ?.in China ask about the history of the world largest electronic stock market, Nasdazs. Many companies want to sell stocks so they can get money to expense their business. Stock is share of ownership. Share can be bought and sold on the trading floor of stock exchange or they can be traded through and over council market, such as market link dealer directly by a computer or telephone system.

But Nasdaz also trades big active stocks, among them is Microsoft, maker of the operating system on most personal computers. Nazdas provides price information for over the counter stocks as well as many companies listed on New York Stock Exchange. The prices are public in newspaper.
In Nasdaz, each stock has a number of dealers called market makers. They buy and sell shares for themselves and investors. Market makers use their own money as needed. Nasdaz lists about 3300 companies. It points out that it lists more companies and trades more share per day on average than any other market in the country. But the world largest stock market is New York Stock Exchange. Major activities still takes place on the trading floor. Each stock is handle by one specialist who acts as a market maker and has other duties. Specialists are expected to keep a fair and orderly market. Many people want a???system of electronic trading. These exchanges took a big ??..in April. It announced a plans to combine with an electronic market of Archipelago. Tại sao phải viết in hoa cụm NASDAQ? Bạn có biết cấu tạo của NASDAQ là gì không?
- NASDAQ là các ký tự đại diện cho một cụm từ, hay còn gọi là acronym. Giống như ASEAN là Association of Southeast Asia Nations, UNESCO là United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, v.v... nên bắt buộc phải viết in hoa toàn bộ. Lỗi này chỉ có vài bạn tránh được mà thôi.
- Sẵn mọi người đã nghe bài này ít nhất là 1 lần rồi, Maroon thử hỏi chứ các bạn có biết NASDAQ đại diện cho cụm từ nào không vậy, không trả lời được là tệ lắm đó.

Tên chương trình ?othe VOA Special English Economics Report? là tên riêng, BẮT BUỘC fải viết hoa các ký tự đầu, cái này Maroon đã sửa bao nhiêu lần rồi, những bạn mới không nói làm gì, vậy mà những người cũ vẫn mắc phải (trừ orbit và hero), thấy uổng công sửa bài cho mọi người quá, vì chẳng ai để ý cả. Buồn ghê!

Tất cả mọi người đều có chung 1 chỗ sai ở đoạn này: ?oMajor activity still takes place...?. Khi nghe đến đây bảo đảm ai cũng bối rối (kể cả Maroon) vì nghe rõ ràng sau activity có s mà sao đtừ lại cũng có s. Đến đây lại chia ra 2 loại lỗi:
1. Một số bạn chọn giữ nguyên cả hai chữ s này, tức thành: ?oMajor activities still takes place...? => sai ngữ pháp trầm trọng, CN là số nhiều sao đtừ có s được.
2. Một số bạn qđịnh bỏ chữ s thứ hai, tức thành: ?oMajor activities still take place...? => đúng ngữ pháp, nhưng rõ ràng ngta đọc là takes, chẳng lẽ họ đọc sai => họ không đọc sai, vì họ là người bản xứ => các bạn sai chứ ai.
Vậy thế nào mới là đúng? Câu đúng là ?oMajor activity still takes place...? => nhưng rõ ràng sau activity có s, âm s này ở đâu ra vậy? Mọi người thử nhìn xem sau activity là chữ gì => still => still bắt đầu bằng âm gì? Trả lời: s. Done, vấn đề được giải quyết xong.
Âm s mà các bạn tưởng là của activity hóa ra lại là âm đầu của chữ still. Nói vòng vo như vậy chẳng qua là để mọi người ghi nhớ thật lâu, vì lỗi này rất, rất, rất dễ phạm phải. Không phiền chứ? Ai dám phiền, hứ, tui ngồi vắt óc ra đống chữ này không phiền thì thôi chứ! Rút kinh nghiệm nha mọi người.
