SAT I and II are being taken more and more by Vietnamese pupils who want to study abroad, esp in the US. But as I can see, the vocabulary is one of the biggest challenges. But I also think that they are really really interesting. That''s why I hope everyone can share your experiences here. If you took the test or are studying for it, please tell me your experiences. And others will share with you here too.
Thanks so so so much ^_^
    With luv from me.

Hi Satori, the topic you''re raising is of great interest, not only to those who are in effect studying for SAT but also to those who are preparing for standardized tests like TOEFL, GRE, etc. To contribute to your initiative in livening up the preparation among students for such a hot test, I would like to name just one book which I think is particularly useful for building and expanding vocabulary for such a test. Its title is VOCABULARY BUILDER, by the classic dictionary maker MERRIAM-WEBSTER, my top-choice monolingual dictionary and an ultimate authority on words of today''s English. I have scanned the material and found that so many of the words covered in the book appear in lists of words given in the SAT strategies books on offer on the market. So I myself believe in the usefulness of the book and highly recommend it as one of the best choices to those who are planning to take SAT or even GRE (because SAT for high school students is every bit like GRE for graduate students).
What''s more, if you have it your way you should look for MERRIAM-WEBSTER''S COLLEGIATE DICTIONARY, 11TH E***ION, whose online e***ion is also available at www.m-w.com. But since no one says for sure that he''s available online most of the day, I strongly suggest you buy a print e***ion so that you can take it with you anywhere, thus able to look a word up when need arises.
    Just my 2 cents!
    Cheers!

---> To captor_of_sin: so sorry that this reply is too late... Now I''m waiting for my university entrance exam to come. After finishing it, I''ll write more. It''s been a long time I haven''t seen you too. Have fun! :)
---> To etranger_ic: it''s nice to know that you want to study abroad and also interested in SAT.
In HCMC, as I know, the English center of The National University ( trung tâm Anh ngữ Đại học Quốc gia, ở TPHCM) opens the SAT courses. But only for SAT I. SAT II may mostly based on self-study.
Besides, if you or members of our forum want to share the information about SAT, which is an interesting exam but also a challenge to English learners, I''ll be more than glad to discuss with you here. I''m also a learner, and I know sharing, discussing will bring us more useful info.
Thanks for replying my topic and see ya asap!
