I feel so sad and irritated today.
I wanted to find a poem I wrote that was published in a Literature Collection in my high school. I remember that somebody posted it on my school''''s unofficial forum, so I Googled to find the exact article. To my (great) surprise, somebody else also posted it in TTVNOL, and in Chu Van An forum.
It seems that they are two different people. The one in TTVNOL, I replied to their topic and asked them to write exactly my name and their source of info about it (box Song Lam Nghe An FC), hopefully they will reply. The one in Chu Van An forum (which does not belong to TTVNOL - don''''t get confused) is someone from my high school. The website doesn''''t run anymore, but Google does keep the cache and I can read what he posted - that was my poem, and I know exactly where he read it because he was in the same school with me, and he said NOT A WORD about its actual author. I got pissed off about that.. I found out that he joined another forum and I opened a new thread asking him to talk to me about that.
I am not a big poet or something like that, but that poem was MINE, it came from my heart and I wrote it to keep some memory for my last summer in high school. I feel really really hurt when somebody does something like that without a single note like "Sưu tầm" or even "Unknown author". I remember about two years ago I saw another poem of mine posted without citing sources, I contacted the admin (who posted it in his new website!!) and he said sorry. The point is that I do not intend to run around to find them- I just accidentally discovered those cases. Ironically, I never really thought that small, "unsung" writers like me would ever be in such situation.
But that''''s the thing I want to say - I feel really hurt. I think the big, famous writers will feel worse inside when seeing somebody stealing their work, which took them a lot of time, money, efforts, emotions, etc. to write! That is totally different from piracy. Piracy is when you distribute others'''' work without asking for permission, like we make copies of DVDs. BUT, if you distribute it and intentionally make people think that it is YOURS, when it is totally NOT, that is cheating - in other words, STEALTH. I do want to ask those people, do they feel proud or happy of doing such things? Or they are TOO innocent that they don''''t even know they should cite their sources??
I felt like my reactions were too serious, but I hope at least the ones who "forgot" to include the author name understand and reply me with an apologize, and never does the same thing again to anyone else. I hope they fully realize that when someone''''s intelligence property is stolen, it hurts the same as or even more than losing money!
I want to raise this issue here and open a discussion. Have you ever been in the same situation and felt the same way? What is your opinion about this behavior nowadays? Which solutions, in your opinion, are needed to solve this problem? And how can we stop this threat when Internet is too large to control like now?

    Hi Satori,
I understand your sadness and irritation. That is really a shame when people use the others'' poems, stories, articles, songs...and intent to own them. Stealing Intellectual properties of other people is considered as a cheat, a guilt.
However, I hope it will not affect you much. It did make you feel uncomfortable, but it''s no need to get upset. The best way in this case is telling those persons plainly that they are yours and ask them to cite the source. Otherwise, take it back and do not allow them to use them any more.
One more important thing you should know is your talent. You''d better be proud of that as once they like and feel your brain products are good and valuable, they use them.
Release your melancholy, go out with friends, enjoy your life, study and work with high spirit. Don''t let you down like that as it is not worth to be.

Thanks Dirosemimi. Somebody told me that her work is copied and pasted everywhere, which she didn''t know how to manage, so finally she let it be.
I don''t think I can keep track of such things either. There are simply so many other things to do and to write about. However, I strongly hope that something should be done at least to wake up their integrity. I really like this definition of integrity: It is what you do when no one else is looking.
I guess I know what I must do now.
Thanks Dirose again! ;-) Have a great day!
