Scholes faces Ferguson's rage

LONDON, November 7 (DS) - Paul Scholes' blistering season took another turn this week after he missed Monday's Worthington Cup match against Arsenal. Scholes had been left out from the line-up during United's 3-1 defeat to Liverpool the day before and was ordered to travel to London with the reserves. Scholes rejected the idea and didn't take the team bus, missing both the team and the bench in the match which Arsenal won 4-0.
Scholes' disappointing performance have been blamed on Sir Alex's persistence to play one of his most potent forces in an unusual position as a part of United's 4-1-4-1 scheme.
Scholes is still uncertain about the switch and its effectiveness.
«Sometimes it's not bad and sometimes it's not very good.
«Time will tell if it's going to work. I don't think it has gone great but hopefully it can get better".
Meanwhile, Ferguson's assistant manager Jim Ryan commented on the hardships Scholes had to face due to the new style of the play.
«Paul's role has changed and it hasn't really come off for him yet,' said Ryan in the build-up to United's Champions League game against Olympiakos at Old Trafford.
«Perhaps he feels a little inhibited by the system and it might have affected his confidence», commented Ryan.

MANCHESTER, November 8 (DS) - Manchester United FC midfielder Paul Scholes was fined his two weeks' wage (80.000 pounds) after he refused to play in Monday's Worthington Cup 4-0 defeat at Arsenal FC.
