Hi there, thanks for welcoming me to the forum! It is such a privilege to be welcomed by you guys, mods and members of SEC.
When I first saw this topic, I just thought if I wanted to be a member of SEC then I should just "shout" my name here. That''s why I said hello, my name is so and so. Since I''m not online often and dont have YM or Skype or what-you-may-call-it, I couldn''t say my ID is such and such. Anyway, I hope it wont be a big disadvantage to my membership status on SEC.

OK, let me do the introduction again. Hello, my name is longarm. I used to be an advisor to the English Club @ www.ttvnol.com/english.ttvn if my memory still serves me well. I helped create an English-speaking-only environment on the forum. We successfully established a strong English speaking forum with dozens of cool members posting long high quality topics on a daily basis back in 2003, 2004. I left a little after that upon accomplishing the missions I had for myself.
I love Saigon and I guess that''s how I got here on Saigon English Club. What struck me was Saigon is big but the Saigon English Club is a little small. There''s gotta be a better way to make it bigger. And that''s why I''m here. I have a lot of ideas but not much time. Still I hope I can do something to make SEC a better place.

Here, we seldom meet offline together coz our members are quite busy with their work, job in real life . So we-I mean mods- usually manage and connect to others by their Yahoo IDs. Moreover, the onNet conversation is good way for us to keep in touch each other.. Beside, we often use Skype support for our online discussion. That''s reason why I and FJX asked u give us yours.
If u dont mind, u sample to register a yahoo ID at http://www.yahoo.com and Skype ID at http://www.skype.com . It''s easy to have one

Hi coldbutcool, how''re you today? May I just call you cbc for short? I think this is a topic for welcoming new members to SEC which we all should respect, but I hope it''s ok to ask and answer some simple questions without spamming the topic.
As an advisor, I wasn''t controlling the forum; EC mods did. And I never even chatted with the mods there, leave alone all the members. The EC forum itself did all the talking AND sharing. Once in a while we exchanged messages via PM, a very primitive form of communication which I am not sure any of you guys would use anymore.
What I did was silently making contribution to the forum without having lost in chitchats, spamming and fooling around wasting time. My topics addressed a number of concerns people have as they struggle throughout the process of learning and mastering the English language. Luckily, there were quite a few cool members who joined me to share their personal experience and success stories. As the quality and quantity of the topics increased, more and more members were inspired to improve themselves and became more active members. People just felt like talking and sharing all in English though it was quite a challenge for those living in non-English speaking countries. That was, basically, what I did when I was an advisor to the English Club.
SEC is rather new to me and I guess it takes a little time to read all the topics posted here to understand its mods and members before starting to post. Hope all the reading wont take very long. Enjoy your weekend, cbc!

I think what Longarm means is not the online meeting. He means the discussions in EC in general.
