VN police is too lazy to fly over here to catch me . To be frank, have you gentlemen ever gone to brothels, talked to prostitutes, made friends with them and sympathized to their circumstanes?

both tao_lao and the invincible made excellent points.
but the_invincible say "not now" for Vietnam and dont exactly agrre with you. because the goverment should start putting this issue under consideration. with a law that''s controversial and complicated like this, the process will take a long time too. the gov should strat planning and figuring out how to educate the people and implement the law effectively.
everything has to start at some point, the sooner the better.

I hope our respected policy makers (or legislators) can put aside the moral standards when considering this sensitive issue. They and the propaganda always argue that prostitution is a flesh-based business; it goes against beautifully tra***ional values of vietnamese people; it degrades women''s dignity... Only when above arguments dont take weight, prostitution might have a chance to be ligalized.

Singapore and Holland legalized prostitution. And guess what, their tourist economy just went boom. In VN, even if prostitution is illegal, it''s still easy to buy ***. You stay in the hotel, you make a quick phone call, 10 mins later a pretty girl come to your room. Don''t get me wrong, I''ve never done that before, just what I heard from my cousin.
So yes, I believe that legalizing pros. will help our economy (not in a good way), and maybe help those poor women too. But culture plays a big obstacle here. So I don''t think that would ever happen.
