    The Beatles perform at St. John's Hall, Tuebrook, Liverpool.
    1962
    The Beatles perform at the Grafton Rooms, West Derby Rd.,
    Liverpool. The Beatles are the headliners, with supporting acts
    Gerry & the Pacemakers and The Big Three.
    1963
    The Beatles perform a night show at the ****rn Club, Liverpool.
    Although Brian Epstein promised after the show that The Beatles
    would be back at the ****rn one day, this would prove to be their
    final appearance at the club that has become synonymous with The
    Beatles' early years. Tickets for the show had gone on sale on
    July 21 at 1:30 pm and were sold-out by 2:00 pm. The Beatles,
    whose fee for their first performance at the ****rn had been five
    pounds, receive a fee of 300 pounds for this performance.

    Paul McCartney announces that he has formed a new band, called
    Wings. The members of Wings are Paul and Linda McCartney, drummer
    Denny Seiwell, and former Moody Blues (and Ginger Baker's Air
    Force) guitarist Denny Laine.

    The Beatles perform at Queen's Theatre in Blackpool. So many fans
    are crowded around the theatre, blocking every entrance, that The
    Beatles have to go through a construction area, up and across some
    scaffolding to the roof of the theatre, from where they are lowered
    through a trap door.

    UK re-release of 1964 album "The Beatles First" (Polydor). No
    change in track listing.

    Re-release in Sweden of Beatles LP "The Beatles First" (Polydor).

    The Beatles in the recording studio (Studio Two, EMI Studios,
    London). Recording vocal overdubs for "Because". George Harrison
    asks George Martin to arrange an orchestral score for "Something".
    "The Beatles Anthology 3" has the vocal overdub track, without any
    instrumentation, for "Because" (Disc two, Track 20).

    During recording sessions for his "Mind Games" LP, John Lennon
    records the song "Rock and Roll People". The song will end up
    being omitted from the album, and John will give the song to Johnny
    Winter. Lennon's recording of the song appears on his posthumous
    album "Menlove Ave."
    [J] 1980
    John Lennon begins recording sessions at the Hit Factory for the
    "Double Fantasy" album, as well as for songs that will make up his
    posthumous "Milk and Honey" album.

    Submarine", "She Said She Said", "Good Day Sunshine", "And Your
    Bird Can Sing", "For No One", "Dr. Robert", "I Want to Tell You",
    "Got to Get You Into My Life", and "Tomorrow Never Knows". Highest
    chart position: #1.

    UK release of Beatles single "Yellow Submarine/Eleanor Rigby"
    (Parlophone). It will spend 8 weeks on the charts, its highest

    The Beatles in the recording studio (Studios Three and Two, EMI
    Studios, London). George has his new Moog synthesizer brought into
    the studio for The Beatles to use in finishing up "Abbey Road".
    Moog overdubs are recorded onto "Because". Then vocals are
    overdubbed onto "The End". Paul had brought along tape loops to
    use in creating the transition sounds linking "You Never Give Me
    Your Money" and "Sun King".

    John's Wood, London, a BBC radio program, "The Lennon and McCartney
    Songbook", giving opinions of already-released versions of
    Lennon-McCartney songs performed by other artists. Broadcast on
    August 29.

    John Lennon attends a fashion show at a discotheque in Mayfair, the
    Revolution. He is interviewed, along with Pattie Harrison and
    fashion e***or Suzy Menkes. The interview is broadcast that night
    on BBC Radio 1 and 2, on the program "Late Night Extra".
    1969
    The Beatles in the recording studio (Studios Three and Two, EMI
    Studios, London). With all of the basic tracks for "Abbey Road"
    recorded, and only overdubs left, there will be only a few more
    instances where all four Beatles are in the studio together. On
    this day, George Harrison records an acoustic guitar overdub for
    "Here Comes the Sun", and Paul records Moog synthesizer onto
    "Maxwell's Silver Hammer".
